  1. Thanks for review!

DINKs may not enjoy a cruise on NCL Breakaway +.  LOL!  Race cars, Laser Tag, etc. is not inviting to me and I agree with your observation.  It is all personal choice of course. 🙂

The Jogging Track is a joke on all ships.  People from overseas travel in pods, and have no consideration for others who are serious.  They trek along in slippers!  That is the culture they grew up in and we have to pacify them? AGH and Why?!  Those are the same people who have no respect entering elevators and push/shove getting into elevators and also hold up buffets.  Burping loud and hard is a compliment in their world.  Me...not so much.

I need to be PC and don't want to offend anyone. This is all JMO (Disclaimer for everyone who wants to fire back).

I am seriously looking into "The Scarlet Lady"...

    All JMO 🙂

lol.. it doesnt work that way in this industry or almost any industry.

    it's always future credit.

if you to come back, you spend more $.

and if you dont, they win as well.

sucks for you that dont want to come back but it's good business decision.

    basically, it's win/win for them.

I was being sarcastic.  I get it...

passengers get 50% of their base cruise fare towards next cruise

Wait?!  But what if I don't want another cruise with NCL?  Why can't I get 50% off THIS cruise?

Now I am forced to book a future cruise with NCL to perhaps recoup some $? What if I don't want to book another cruise with NCL?

I am not on this cruise and totally feel for what they are going thru and do hope they arrive home safely.

Everyone with 5,000 + replies you are free to quote NCL's T&Cs to remind me that I/we/they should be grateful what NCL offered to their passengers...

    JMO

  4. I am on the Escape (October 2019) and it is showing $0.00 and in the Main Theater.  Just goes to show you how "off" the NCL site is.  Of course things may change between now and then, but as of now, that is my situation.  I do hope it remains the same until I debark.  LOL!  😉

  5. This is ridiculous.  When can we all stop speculating and hounding on board passengers about current prices?  Is this what it has come down to?

Apparently NCL is remaining mute and want all their passengers (and bartenders) to be surprised upon boarding their next cruise!  As advertised, NCL offers a great cruise experience (lots of FREE AT SEA to attract the unsuspected also). I suggest we all wait to board and find out the surprise when we get there!  I love surprises!  Don't you?

  6. I personally don't care if a dog sniffs me while I am at the bar.  Sign of the times.  That would never intrude on my cruise.  I would thank those dogs and handlers for protecting me!  The world is evolving and times change.  Protect law biding citizens and get rid of the losers...even if they happen to be cruising.  Crazy but true.

Lots of ports on your itinerary have travel warnings.  Those ports used to be "beautiful", "Serene".  Now we have to always be on alert.  Don't wander out of central,  don't go off beaten path. ..blah, blah.

Sadly, crime is everywhere...including our beloved ports.

I welcome the sniffing dogs on any cruise (even if it means they only captured 1 loser to society).  That is a win my book!

    JMO.

  7. Hi Wilson!

I jump on here every few days to see what's going on.  I am especially looking for my Roll Call.  I started one, but apparently CC is having problems adding "New Roll Calls" and refer you to "Old School" Roll Call.  I am not sure what that means, nor do I care.  I am just hoping it will magically appear someday.  This new site ROCKS!  LOL!

Anyway, I can't believe your cruise crept up this quick (for me anyway)!  I will personally miss your real-time review, but totally get it.

The increase in UBP (add-on) was a punch in the throat to everyone...

Enjoy your cruise.  That is the main thing.  Post when you can, and I am sure all of your followers will understand/agree with me.

    Yup...Life is crazy.

Since you will not be posting "live", you will have a ton of free time on your hands.  My suggestions are:

    1.  Take the bread out of the mouths of Orphans in Honduras at the buffet and demand they leave.

    2.  Kick the drug-sniffing dog(s) if/when they sniff you.

That would make an awesome review!  Did you go to the brink for any of the above?!  Report back.  LOL!

Simply enjoy and safe travels 🙂

  8. Forgive me if this has been brought up before (lots of pages to catch up on)...

Why in the World was this price increase (and add on package) not advertised?

Why in the world wasn't anyone notified who had booked prior to this change?  We all relied on CC for real time data??  Really?  Snap shots from drink menus (from passengers) with increased pricing is the only source for documenting??  Really?

    Nothing official from NCL??   Really?

    Good grief.

I got nothing in my inbox regarding changes regarding my UBP and what I signed up for several months ago.   Oh sure, I may have checked a box saying they can "change at anytime", but an official "here ya go we changed you!", would have been cool. Oh my...

Does anyone have an answer?  As a fellow passenger, I am curious/concerned.

    **Cue the flamers/cheerleaders...you, can, start....NOW!

    🙂

  9. My opinion only...

If you have a group of people that you are with...it will be a blast!  If you are seated with people you don't know (and have no idea about their personalities) it could be a challenge.  Like spdwain stated above, there could be someone in your group who will be fun-sucking and dictate.  Not my idea of a good time. One and done for me, but I am glad I tried it (and yes, it was free).

Tip:  Don't go if you had a drink, because some of those people are truly into winning!  It was like Black Friday at Wal-Mart!  LOL!

Again, JMO and my experience.  YMMV 🙂

You’re right. Most bartenders were embarrassed to be the bearer of bad news.

That is not fair to the employees nor passengers.  I mostly feel for the employees, since the passengers will always be rude.  NCL changed UBP Policy (pricing), and it should have been disclosed to all including their employees?  Correct?  Where can I find that?  Is it in the fine print I need to read everday?

Did I mention I have 2 Cruise Next Certs to sell?

    JMO 🙂

I think Choir of Man in the theater will sort of ruin the entire premise of the thing. Now it's just a bunch of guys singing. How ordinary.

Huh!  Thank you for your opinion.  I beg to differ.  COM has scheduled shows all over the US and I will be grabbing a few tickets when they visit the Jersey Shore.  Relax LrgPizza...

No, there was no communication whatsoever... I assume that this is just one of those things covered by the "cruise contract" where they can basically change anything at anytime and by checking that box, we have already agreed to it...

    Got it.  Good to know...

    Tks 🙂

I'm sailing the Breakaway 12 days from now, and as much as I would hate to fork out $348 more for decent liquor, I had decided to just bite the bullet... Well, I just now spoke with customer service at NCL, and this new "premium plus package" will not go into affect on the BA until the sailing following mine. Looks like I'll be forced to pay al la carte up charges (plus 20% gratuity, of course) for every nice adult beverage I choose. Thus far, I have no future bookings with NCL, and this new increase is likely to drive me into sailing other lines. Hopefully this whole debacle comes back to bite them in the a$$, and they'll reconsider, but that does me no good for now......

Forgive me if this has been answered before.  Did anyone get notice about this change?  Sid... did you?  I did not.  Is anyone "grandfathered" in based on when they purchased at the time of their "perks"?  I am assuming no and no to the above questions.

When/where was NCL gonna inform passengers (on booked cruises) on new Prices???

One...as adults, we should write our own letters, not expect someone else to do it for us. Don't know how to write a proper letter? Then it is time to learn how. Everyone should be able to write a proper letter. (Free lesson #1: Write a letter, not an email.)

Two...Remember how you feel when a company responds to you with a form letter. For those same reasons, you don't want to use a form letter to complain...especially a copy & paste letter.

Three...If an issue is important enough to you, it is important enough to write your own letter...not just copy someone else's. Nothing would hit the round file faster than receiving the same letter from multiple people. The very definition of spam. Put in some effort, don't grab on to someone else's work with a "me too".

I was being sarcastic.  People on this thread criticized OP's letter/email....
