  1. We are sailing on Celebrity,on the Reflection for the 1st time in Feb. We have the perk "classic alcohol" package. I really don't drink alcohol much, but am a soda addict. I would like to trade in the classic alcohol package for the premium non-alcohol package so I can get "cans" of soda.

I have read on these boards that some people have had some luck with doing this in the past and wondered if anyone had tried on the Reflection recently? If so, any luck?

    Thanks,

    Kim

  2. Hi,

I have never sailed on Holland but am considering it for a family cruise to Alaska as I know that I want to go back to Glacier Bay and really want my kids to experience it as well.

If you were traveling northbound from Vancouver ending in Seward on the Westerdam, which side of the boat would you select for prime viewing and why?

Also, I am interested in the cabins at the very front of deck 4, 4001 & 4002. Do you have any idea if the balcony divider can be opened between 4001 and 4003 or 4002 and 4004?

Thanks for any help you can give.

  3. We were on the nov 25 cruise they have a propeller problem. The pitch of the prop can change and now it will only go to 20% and they cannot get enough thrust to go full speed only can make 14 instead of 21. Sitting in a motel in N.O. wait on the dec 4 cruise we were on a b/b/b so our middle cruise was canceled. The ship is at the mouth of the miss river headed to moblie ala for dry dock should be there sometime in the morning. Hope they get it fixed or let us know soon so I can cruise or go home.

That is horrible for you....right in the middle of a b/b/b...sorry!:(

  4. I think the answer is "Maybe". I had planned a port to stay onboard with my 6 year old Grandson. We planned a waterslide/hot-tub/pool day. The family all went off on their excursions and we headed to the pool deck...only to find that the slide and pool/hot-tubs were closed for maintenance!

We were disappointed, but headed to the back of the ship to use that pool/hot-tub. After just a few minutes we were asked to leave as this was an "adult" only area. (Even though we were the only ones in the hot-tub and the other pool was closed). I was upset. If there had been communication of the scheduled center water activity closure, we would have joined our family on their excursions...however by the time we found out, they were long since gone.

    So...to answer your question...usually open...maybe:)

  5. You are not to reuse a glass at the dispensers, so you shouldn't be asking for your tumbler to be filled. If you want to use it, you will need to get soda in a clean glass then transfer it to your container.

This wasn't an issue on our last NCL cruise as they would open a can of soda and pour the entire can into my glass.....no cross contamination at all.

  6. So, I confess...I am a soda addict. I have an upcoming cruise on the Reflection with the classic drink package as a perk.

I know they pour you a glass of soda, you don't get the can, but my question is, if I bring my large Tervis tumbler will they fill that for me?

I know a small glass of soda won't cut it. My tervis will hold an entire can of soda plus ice. I was able to do this last year on the NCL Sun, will it work on the Reflection?

  7. Tripinsurancestore.com is a company I have used for many years now. They only sell a small amount of prescreened policies and they are available to answer all questions before you buy a policy. They have also went to bat for me with an insurance company and won! I can't recommend this company enough.

  8. Most of time, but exceptions include weather conditions (windiness) or a cleaning or maintenance issue.

I had the same plan with my grandson, so we stayed on board and planned a pool/hot tub/slide day. Unfortunately, after all of our other family got off and went about their excursion, we found out by reporting to the center pool that they were all unavailable for maintenance!

So, we went to the back pool....and we only in a couple of minutes before we were asked to leave as it was for adults only! I was so mad, there wasn't even anyone in the pool and only 1 adult in the hottub. I tried to explain that the center pool/hot tubs were closed...but it didn't make any difference. This was crappy.

What could they have done to make it better? Announce the pool/hot tub/slide closing in the daily paper. (We would have changed our plans and stayed onboard on a different stop). They could have also opened the back pool up for all of their guest.

  9. In anticipation of a cruise on the Reflection...what is the upcharge if I want a can of coke zero rather than a glass? If I am going to have to mule my 12 pk of Coke Zero on, why shouldn't I save money and go back to Carnival? I am an experienced NCL, RCL, Carnival cruiser and am anticipating my first "upscale" Celebrity cruise this Feb....... this may seem small to some, but really seems cheap to me.....I could save $1000 and go back to what I am familiar with (and carry my own coke onboard)!
