  1. Aside from the other excellent suggestions here, I would recommend not piling your entire vacation into a single SD card.

SD cards are so cheap that it's not entirely unreasonable (IMHO) to take N cards, where N is the number of days of your trip. Change cards daily and keep them in a safe place. That way if a card gets completely corrupted or completely lost (before you get to your daily backup regimen), you only lose at most one day of photos.

  2. My husband and I don't drink beer or wine, I'd prefer Titos, soda and cranberry...is that something they would offer? Do you know if there is flavored seltzer on board?
Can't speak to the cranberry & flavored seltzer as they're not something I go for, but I definitely saw cases of Tito's last week.

Should I bring my own almond milk for the room or will they have it available?

RC allowed us to bring our own almond milk. They did not mention that it would be available. But we weren't Star class.

  3. We had a private excursion for KSC and turned back to the ship. Watched the launch from the ship. Friends of ours had booked through the ship so they had to go. Took them almost 3 hours to get there. KSC ran out of food, they had to eat only popcorn for lunch. They only had about 2 hours to walk around.

I hadn't heard about KSC running out of food. But I also didn't go looking for much food. I brought water & snacks of my own in anticipation of long lines, high prices, and poor availability. We picked up popcorn & hot pretzels for our group in the IMAX building right after the launch as we were standing near there and the line wasn't bad (the movies were playing).

Yes, it took close to 3 hours to get into the facility (we got off the bus at about 3:15 PM)

Yes, it was unfortunate that some people planned poorly for the long delays on the bus and got frustrated over things that were out of the driver's control

Yes, I'm a little disappointed that my son & I "only" got to see the launch, Rocket Garden, static displays in the IMAX building and the Atlantis exhibit.

No, I don't regret it at all. For a family that can't get to KSC without an expensive flight or a multi-day (each way) road trip, being on-site for a launch *and* getting to see Atlantis up close (the whole exhibit/experience is breathtaking) may be a once-in-a-lifetime (or at least once-in-a-childhood) opportunity.

  4. If you really have your heart set on roller skating or bumper cars, carefully check the posted schedule. Get there early.
And watch out for line-jumpers/cutters. We got in line for bumper cars close to 45 minutes early and watched a lot of people holding places for larger groups (despite signs posted stating that it wasn't allowed), just cutting into line themselves, and even getting back into the cars right after their ride was up. The Seaplex staff did not do a good job of managing this situation until the bumper cars had been active for about 15 minutes (at which point all the line-jumpers ahead of us had already gotten through).

The casino is very smoky and the smell is soaked in to all the surfaces there. On the positive side, it's well-contained there. No one has to walk through unless they want to.
We only passed through a few times, but didn't really notice much of a smoke smell except in one small section. It was much worse in the designated smoking area on Deck 14 by the pool.
  5. the vendors can be a bit pushy sometimes and there is always people at the touristy spots wanting to show you around and expecting tips - but you can politely tell them no thanks and they'll leave you alone.

Just returned from a cruise including a stop at Nassau and this doesn't match my experience. I found the people offering taxis, vans, rides, tours, etc. extremely pushy, even after saying we weren't interested. I would even describe some of them as aggressive. You could not get out to the streets of Nassau without being accosted by at least a dozen drivers, in some cases almost blocked, and it even continued past the gates out onto the street/sidewalk.

It was much worse than I recall from my previous visit to Nassau two years ago.

  6. There is hardly a day goes by that I don't receive multiple scam calls on my land line and on my cell and many follow the local area code and my prefix. Don't know why the powers that be can't stop this.

Because the right person hasn't gotten the call yet. Remember the "auto warranty" scam calls a decade ago? And how they seemingly stopped overnight? Here's why: https://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/05/14/ftc-cracks-down-on-car-warranty-robocalls/

The scammers have also changed their tricks and various technologies have made it easier and easier for them to conceal where the call is coming from.
