  1. I'm confused! Please explain the differences between Lac Bay, Sorobon, Jibe City and the Hang Out Bar. Is the beach called Lac Bay and the resort called Sorobon? Are Jibe City and the Hang Out Bar just two different restaurant/bars on Lac Bay? We are looking for a sandy beach from which you can walk directly into non-rocky clear water. Some photos show white and blue lounge chairs. Other photos show wooden chairs. We are trying to identify the place with the blue and white loungers. We also want a place with some shade and nice restrooms. Thank you.

  2. Are there any beaches in Bonaire that are not rocky as you enter the water? Do these beaches have nice facilities -- bathrooms, showers, loungers and umbrellas for rent, swimming pools, restaurants?

  3. Do you think that this PowerCurve Mini Surge Protector would be confiscated? I only see extension cords on the list of prohibited items, not surge protectors.

  4. How do the Plaza Beach Resort and the Spice Beach Club compare? We are looking for a beach with nice clear water where we can rent loungers and umbrellas. We like to take our lounger right to the edge of the water. We also want nice bathroom/ changing/ showering facilities as well as a restaurant and drinks.

  5. When we visited Mambo Beach in January 2017, I remember that after the taxi dropped us off at the entrance we walked down a flight of stairs to the beach. For someone with mobility problems, is there another way to get to the beach level. An elevator or ramp? Is there a particular direct beach access entrance that we should mention to the taxi driver?

  6. We just booked a suite for one night pre-cruise at Hilton Homewood Suites Downtown Miami/Brickell for January 2018. Please tell me about this hotel. Is it in near inexpensive restaurants for lunch and/or dinner? Is it within a short walking distance to places like Walgreens, CVS or grocery stores? Is it safe area to walk in this area after dark?

  7. Are the wooden loungers and chairs at Blue Kay really uncomfortable? Any suggestions on how to make them more comfortable. In all other ways Blue Kay looks wonderful -- the perfect place for us to spend the day at the beach.

  8. Is there a swimming pool on the pay-as-you-go side of Mr Sanchos? We are trying to decide between Mr Sanchos and Paradise Beach. Which has the better pool? Which beach has the least loud music playing during the day?

  9. Several cruise lines offer a Costa Maya excursion to the private Beach Escape Beach Club. I can't find any information about this club. Has anyone been on this excursion? Please tell me more. Where exactly is the beach? Does it have a different name? Is it an all inclusive? Thanks.

  10. Did you try to book online with Choice Air or on the telephone? When I tried to book online, I couldn't find the AA flight that I wanted. Then I called and spoke to a representative at Choice Air. The representative informed me that she couldn't sell me the flight that I wanted because it did not arrive within their guidelines. They would not guarantee that we would make it to the ship on time. With that in mind we changed our flight plans so that we could book with Choice Air.

  11. How is casino play rated under the new system in place since March 2016? My husband plays mainly craps. Under the old system he was eligible for casino rates. But after our September 2016 cruise he was told he did not have enough points to receive casino rates. I don't believe his level of play changed. He did receive a certificate that would entitle him to a free cruise for two on particular sailings or he could use the certificate for a $1,000 discount on any sailing within one year. We just returned from a 9-day cruise and he did not receive any benefits because he did not have enough points. When we asked how points were earned, the casino manager gave some vague answer like, "It's theoretical. The dealers monitor your play." We always thought that ratings were based on average bet and length of play. But now I am wondering if the rating is based on how much you win or lose. He received the free cruise certificate after losing money in the casino, but received nothing when he won money.

  12. Just get an extra key card for the rooms and sleep where you like.

Cruise ship doesn't care where you sleep.

This is a fine way to go as long as the two staterooms have the same muster station. One time in our 21 cruises we had to muster for real and I would have been beside myself if my beloved wasn't with me then. If your two staterooms do not share the same muster station, I suggest you go to Guest Services after boarding and make the necessary changes.

  13. Enjoyed your review! We will be sailing the same itinerary on the Navigator next month.

I asked this question before but I didn't see an answer so I will try again.

Last September we sailed on the Freedom out of Port Canaveral. After receiving our sea passes and just before boarding the ship, there was a kiosk in the terminal selling bottled water, soda and lanyards at lower prices than on board. Did you see something similar as you boarded the Navigator?

  14. Thanks so much for your detailed review! We will be sailing on the Navigator on January 20.
