Based on our previous cruises - this will cover our gratuities and spending.

What a pleasant surprise when everything is costing so much more due to exchange rate.

Hi everyone

We are heading to the Independence of the Seas in a few weeks. Although we've sailed on IOS before, it's been a few years and our last 3 cruises were on Allure (x2) and Oasis.

I don't think the IOS has a Starbucks? Do they have a Café Promenade or something similar where we can get a coffee latte in the morning and tea latte in the evening? I don't drink much coffee or tea, but like the "fancy" ones when I do. I don't want to drink crappy coffee on vacation and don't mind paying for a specialty one if available.

We have done both and with the exception of certain restaurants and broadway show they are exactly the same. Our DD 15 yrs & 18 yrs, see them as interchangeable. We pick either one based on the date and itinerary.

I get the impression that Starbucks is NOT included in the Royal Replenish program. Where else can you get specialty coffees (lattes, cappuccinos) and teas onboard? Cafe Promenade? Does anyone have a menu/price list to see what the value is?

Hi there we are considering both of these spots for our Allure cruise in late January. It's important to me to be able to pull a lounger into the shade and enjoy the beach, whereas the rest of my family are sun worshippers. Which spot offers more shade options for the beach?

From the photos I've found online Mr Sanchos appears to only have shade at the tables, and Nachi seems to show loungers under palapas. Has anyone been to both bad can comment?
