Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. NCL is NOT McDonald's. In most MDRs, there are about 8 entree choices, 3 permanent and 5 different ones each night. Now, NCL wants to expand their volume to 15 choices, including the bogus "custom pasta" dish. Same choices every night. NCL argues they will be able to improve the entree quality by having a permanent, set menu. By doubling the number of entrees choices? That seems a bit overwhelming for a chef to deal with every night. Sure, this system works great for McDonald's. Lots of permanent choices for burgers, fish and chicken sandwiches, etc. But, this isn't why you go on a cruise, especially one longer than seven days? Do YOU eat at McDonald's every night? Or, at ANY restaurant, for that matter? Just another way of trying to nickel and dime you to death when you go on a cruise. If you don't go to a specialty restaurant on a two-week cruise, you'd have to order EVERY entree to avoid repeating yourself!
  2. As an American who has traveled around Europe through the years, a prix fixe is very appreciated. I don't have to make any judgment about how much to tip, and I know EXACTLY how much my meal will cost as soon as I read the menu. I wish it were a practice in the U.S. I apologize for any stupid remarks made by "Ugly Americans". The world doesn't exist just between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans. I love America, but acknowledge that it doesn't always do everything correctly (electing Trump and these republican "deniers" and closet racists?). We could learn a lot from Europe, and they could learn a thing or two from us.
  3. This is total B.S.! Another way to steer customers to spend more money attending specialty restaurants. The food is NOT going to improve in quality. NCL has been turning out ALL these dishes for YEARS! Their past dishes have been going on a long while, not just on a first-time basis, so if the narrow them down, the quality or lack of quality will remain the same. This new policy might be ok for a 4-day cruise, maybe even a 7-day. What about a two-week cruise or longer, especially for those who don't want to spend extra money on specialty dining? I'd wind up ordering the same dish three times. And - pasta dishes?! They're the CHEAPEST darn things to make. Who would want a cheap dish like pasta at a cruise? Children? Then, how about mac & cheese for a main dish? You folks who think this is great are just being conned. Yet another example of cruise lines trying to nickel and dime you to death. More and more things cost extra now. Shame on you, NCL!!
