  1. I do believe that there is. Also, there were first run movies 2-3 nights on the pool deck with popcorn and blankets on the chaises. I remember seeing Bridge of Spies one night. Many of the movies shown that in the different venues later played on the tv in the cabin. On one TA through CC we met many lovely people. One of them was a Tai Chi instructor and on our 7 sea days at 10:30 am she met a group of us near the Lawn Club and instructed us. It was one of the most enjoyable things we have ever done cruising. And we never would have done it if we had not all met on our Roll Call.

  2. That is correct ? I always forget about that station because it is tucked away behind the Courtyard and Outdoor World. There are several new hotels but there is really nothing else there except Outdoor World and the International Fishing Hall of Fame. It is an OK location for a one night stay and then go to the port but if the poster is looking for more and being able to wall to a grocery store and other places and restaurants then I think the 17th street area is better.

  3. Recently, Fort Lauderdale changed its Sunday antiquated liquor sale laws. You can now purchase alcohol in the city on Sunday starting at 7 AM. Unbelievable that it took them so long. Good news for anyone waiting till their Sunday sail day to pick up some bottles.

  4. Thank you for the review. We will be boarding the Equinox this Friday for the 4th time. This time we are bringing friends who have never sailed Celebrity before but decided to join us after we had a less than stellar cruise last year on the Royal Princess. Hoping they will enjoy the Equinox and Celebrity as much as we do.

  5. There are two stations near the port. the first is at Broward Blvd which is NW of the port -about 15 min by Taxi- in Fort Lauderdale. The next stop south if Hollywood, SW of the port and also a 15-20 min ride. There are several hotels within10 minutes of each stop and the port. The Renaissance Hotel is directly across from the 17th street entrance of the Port in Ft. Lauderdale. It has recently been renovated and is convenient to walk to many restaurants and shops. Do you have a particular preference? If not that is where I would stay for convenience.

  6. I think your best choice would be VA 6080 or 6089, with second choice 6082 or 6091. The latter two do not get noise from the glass elevators, but their balconies are partially visible from the elevators.

p.s. - I just checked, and of those four only 6080 is taken right now.

I took your advice and booked 6089 and 6091 (traveling with friends). We can open the balcony partition and as far as there being partial a visibility I expect that we will behave[emoji33]. Thanks to everyone for the advice.

If anyone else wants to weigh in, that would be great as we are still almost 20 months out.

  7. maybe you should ask for verandas to avoid. We did this cruise on the Eurodam and had to avoid an Atlantic hurricane heading to the North sea. Midship 6 deck sounds good. We had a rough sea but the sea day was bearable. Most everyone was up and about. We tend to get a room near an elevator a little more to the Aft end as the dining room and Lido eating area are on decks at the end. Elevators are quiet.

My friend said she was on that crossing with you.:)

  8. We are planning on booking a verandah cabin on a 20 day Voyage of the Vikings cruise for August 2018 . It travels from Copenhagen to NY through the North Atlantic. We are normally Celebrity cruisers but this is a wonderful itinerary. As this will be our first time on a HAL ship we would appreciate some cabin information and recommendations please. Specifically, what deck and location on the Z is the best for the least motion (we expect that the North Atlantic might be rough); 2) quiet (no crew cabins or service elevators nearby, etc.); 3) best unobstructed views and balconies; and 4) convenience. I noted that the deck plans have VA, VB, VC and sometimes VD class cabins. While I know there are price differences based on location, the most important thing is finding the best cabin. Thank you in advance for all of your input and advice.

  9. Not quite. TSA Pre-check covers security screening for outbound flights from the USA on participating carriers. GOES is not any type of program at all - it stands for Global Online Enrollment System and is the process used to apply for Global Entry and other trusted traveller programs. Global Entry is an expedited trusted traveller program that allows for priority immigration and customs processing when returning to the USA from overseas. It is also affiliated with several other country's systems, but I won't get into that here.

So, you have Pre-Check, GOES and Global Entry - all of which are separate items, though they do have some relation to each other.

You are correct about GOES being the acronym for the Global Entry Enrollment but you still may have a double security check at the gate in many domestic airports after the initial TSA screening depending on which country you are flying to.

  10. Never had to take out my liquids from my carry-on domestically or traveling outside the U.S. It's unclear from your port if you are traveling internationally or domestically so it may depend upon where you are going to or coming from. BY THE WAY, the TSA Pre is for domestic flights and the GOES program is for international when returning to the U.S.

  11. Hopefully, both affected lines will assist passengers who miss the ship in FLL to get to their next port of call. Certainly no fault of their own for being late.

That may be why they are still in port or it can be the cargo ship coming into port.

  12. Sunset that day is 6:02pm so you should have plenty of time to catch a taxi and be there well before that time. Wondering if you are on the same ship. We are on the Equinox which docks that afternoon for an overnight.
