  1. I don't want to review my entire cruise as the cruise and service itself were fantastic.

The main dining room food was a bit of a disappointment.  On the first night, I had the prime rib, and it was gristly.  In the past the prime rib has always been excellent.  This time, not so much, part of it was my fault, as I didn't want to send it back.  The turkey dinner on Thanksgiving was excellent.  I really enjoyed it very much, but whatever the pumpkin pie was, wasn't a taste that I was expecting, kind of like a pumpkin mousse, not my favorite.  Other meals were not memorable.  On lobster night (so looking forward to it), my lobster had a mushy texture and taste to it.  Kind of tasteless.  Other foods were okay.  One appetizer I ordered was the coconut shrimp, I was expecting more of a coconut flavor, it was okay.  One evening, they had carrot cake for dessert -- one of my absolute favorites and our wait staff actually brought me an extra slice to take back to my room for consumption later.  The carrot cake was kind of dry and bland.  I didn't eat all of my cake, not that I needed it.  I tossed the 2nd piece out.  In general, the soups, breads, and salads were tasty.

We tend to eat our lunch in the main dining room, which we enjoy.  At one lunch, they had carrot cake, and thought I would give it a try again.  This one was very good.

The Park Cafe has excellent pizza.  One afternoon, while on a sea day, my husband and I decided to eat at the Park Cafe and get pizza and a salad.  The pizza was great!  It is made is a sour dough crust and just enough cheese.

I know that Royal wants to cut down on costs and encourage people to pay for upgraded meals in the specialty restaurants, but generally I don't want to spend the extra money.

Again, our wait staff was absolutely terrific.  They remembered what you like and how you like things.  They really do their very best to make sure you are happy.

  2. when checking in on the web site within the last few days, did it ask you to scan in your passport. I did on my previous cruise in June of this year but this time it didn't. I got different answers when calling Royal, one said the eliminated it, another said they retained picture of passport from last cruise and one more said nothing has changed and need to scan it. Please tell me if you had to scan it using website even though you scanned it before. Thanks in advance for ending my confusion. Worse case, would they scan it at the pier?

I talked to Royal today via Facebook messenger (just easier when I'm at work). They said that our reservation was "redeployed" and I should have received an email with information.  I have not received any communication with Royal. I asked them to send me the email and I haven't heard anything back in hours.

I'm not too worried about the ship and our cabin. We only have one sea day and will be off the ship as much as possible.  We're booked in an inside cabin and my only preference is to be in a spot where cabins are also above and below us.

We are really looking forward to the ports and booked with a great price, so I'm still hoping that this all works out.

    they have not assign

I'm still a little irritated that we have to make a decision by August 18th and still have zero information from Royal.

I have the same problem as they also said I have to Aug 18th to make a decision and yet no word from Royal only my TA and they have not assigned a new cabin yet. This is Voyager to Adventure and have an assessable cabin on Voyager which there are not many of to begin with on Adventure. Concerned that won't get assessable cabin on new ship.

  4. My wife & I were on that cruise. We had a car service take us from Doubletree Penn Sta to Cape Liberty so parking was not applicable for us. Was disappointed that the aqua show kept getting cancelled. Enjoyed CATS. First night MDR line was a mess for people with My Time. In Halifax we had a private guide that took us to Peggy's Cove, a person's private house with her yacht parked  and he told us stories enroute about Halifax 20th century early boat collision that nearly destroyed Halifax. In St John, NB we rental a car and drove to St. Martins to see the Caves. All in all was a nice cruise. Loved the Oasis.

  5. Going on a 12 nighter and stops in St Kitts on 8th day and St Kitts seems to be the only island that requires testing still and from a lab or dr office within so many days of arrival. My question is, does RCCL currently charge if you have to get it on board before arrival? Yes any thing can change, but want to know from those who just went there recently. Thanks for any info. again from those who recently went
