Did you take any pictures of 7094? I have it on the serenade this Sept.

Yes, those are the balcony.  Let me double check, but I don't think I took any cabin pics.  Ok just checked nothing of cabin proper.  I love the hump cabins.  The only drawback is some noise from the centrum.  But the Balcony is nearly unbeatable, especially given the central location.  Which sailing are you on>  I'm on 9/22 this year, but this time I managed to snag an aft cabin.

  2. Here's a couple of pics.  One is much better lighting so you can see the whole balcony, the other isn't as well lit but will let you see the overhang better.  It is a nice deep balcony with plenty of room.  However, if you are hoping for a good tanning place it does have an over hang that will effect that.

BTW, which Sept sailing are you on?  I had this cabin Boston/Bermuda 9/23 last year and will be sailing 9/22 this year!

Hi!  Yes!  I saw your other thread earlier but I was at work.  I'll share some here then go over to your other thread since that one is specific to this cabin.

  4. We are on this cruise, leaving Sunday. We are from Maine with no flights needed. In saying that we just planned on our son picking us up and just walking off with our Luggage. We do that most of our cruises regardless of needing to fly.

Hearing what you are saying would it just be as easy to put our luggage out the night before and taking our time getting out of there? Please give me your thoughts. Dan

I was on the cruise also. I put my bags out night before and would suggest it as the best way. Really, it was just a mess because so many people all chose to opt to carry off. I was only off about 20 minutes later than my original expected departure time. So, I feel that putting your bags out the night before is optimal for disembarking.

  5. I love craps, but don’t recall ever seeing better that 2X ever being offered on a ship. I think the lines don’t expect or want serious players (or the risk of potential losses ). It looks to me as if they offer casino games as just another thing onboard with a cushy profit margin. Otherwise, if they wanted to be a serious casino, they’d offer better comps - free drinks in particular - like a true casino.

  6. Like I said, it is just an opinion based upon three seasons I am aware of where RCCL sailed the ship from in the time in question. Given that Boston has been largely neglected by RCCL until the Serenade was sent here, it doesn’t seem illogical for them to keep a toe in the port, especially considering that the sailings seem to be selling.

I WILL say this - the move of the Serenade to Boston was THE reason I decided to sail with RCCL again. I haven’t sailed with them in 9 years till they did this.

  7. This is an unusual and short lived itinerary for Serenade, therefore I doubt you will be able to get much recent and reliable info

Not sure if I agree. RCCL moved the Serenade up to Boston in the fall at least last year (not sure about previously), is there this year (I’m booked for the 23rd sailing also), and has already set sailing dates for September next year (I’m booked for the 22nd sailing 2019). I can’t claim any inside information, but it seems like a reasonable thought that September/Boston is the spot going forward for Serenade. FWIW, I believe the 23rd sailing is sold out (not listed any long).

  8. I’ve sailed Radiance class ships several times and never had any issues with seas being a problem. I’m also booked on the Serenade this September but on the alternate week when it sails to Bermuda.

As noted earlier embarkation isn’t usually a problem, and there are Chops, and Giovanni’s on board (Chefs table also but like Izumi not fully covered with UDP).

FWIW I love the Radiance class, and hope you have a great time!

  9. Nothing beyond cameras that record everything that goes on in the passenger corridors.

I suppose that, being that all passengers aboard can be identified and are ‘kept’ (so to speak), security cameras are ultimately sufficient. Still, I find this change disturbing. As mentioned earlier, any problem with the pass would require going to guest services and waiting in line as opposed to catching any issues at the pier under the old process. I’m sailing in about a month, and will cautiously await the outcome of the new process.

  10. And now the room doors are open until you arrive? If you arrive later anyone could enter the room and borrow the cards or the welcome drinks or anything else...

I haven’t cruised in a long time, and hearing about this new way of distributing the Seapass card has me afraid of EXACTLY this! Can anyone elaborate on what, if any, steps to prevent unauthorized access to staterooms are in place?

  11. While I’m at it, let’s talk food...

Specialty restaurants have been excellent. Windjammer, Park Cafe, etc have been horrendous.

Breakfast is pretty much inedible imo. Even the bananas sucked this morning. Hard to mess up a banana.

Seems like the specialty restaurants have improved, while the main “free” ones have gotten worse.

Thanks. Good to know. Sad that RCCL is allowing (new business model???) this. The windjammer, mdr, and other dining is part of what we are paying for as customers.

  12. any Brilliance experts? The search function isn't helping me. Just realized our (aft) cabin 1604 is beneath the Windjammer outdoor cafe!!! How much noise can we expect? We like to sleep in.

I've had 1604 on Serenade. Yes, some noise from Windjammer, mostly chairs on the deck and some conversation from above. It didn't bother me much, but everyone is different. I loved the cabin and have it again next September.

  13. It sorta did move.

Before the change to points, Diamond was 10 cruise credits, which translated to 70 points, or ten 7-day cruises.

After the change to points, Diamond became 80 cruise points, or eleven 7-day cruises plus 3 points.

They put in a fudge factor so that those with 9 credits ended up with 76 points, or one cruise away from Diamond.

Those with 10 cruise credits ended up with 83 cruise credits, so they maintained their Diamond level.

Emerald was added when credits changed to points.

    Thank you.
