  1. Was anyone able to redeem an OBC credit if you booked your cruise through an agent or specifically American Airlines Cruises? The terms says has to be booked direct with Royal. We are still within the 30 days... wouldn’t mind getting a $100 OBC too.

I don't have a solid answer for you, but you can always submit the reward and see if they apply it. We originally booked through RCL, but transferred to a TA, then repriced our cruise, did my MyVegas reward, repriced for a different cabin type and submitted dh's reward. When we submitted for my reward, they stated my TA would have to call in, but bc they messed up a couple things, the RCL personnel I spoke with applied my OBC on the spot. When I submitted DH's reward, they applied it without my TA having to call in, so honestly, it seems like it depends on the worker at RCL. Good luck!

  2. May 17/18 is fine to stay in Miami.

For hotels the Hampton Inn is a great option for the family and includes breakfast.

The other hotel which is a full service hotel that I would look at in the Hilton Family is the Conrad Hilton.

Both hotels are in great locations.

You will be near Brickell Center which is fairly new with shopping and restaurants and near Mary Brickell Village with lots of restaurants and some stores. There are two nearby Publix Stores and also several pharmacies including one near the Conrad Hilton opened 7x24.

Thank you! I looked into the Conrad and I don't think that would suit our needs, I greatly appreciate that suggestion though! There's so many hotels in Miami it's a little overwhelming and of course I want to make the right decision!!

  3. A suggestion ... you could book a room for the night prior to your arrival, but let the hotel know that you are checking in the next morning. It adds more expense to your stay, but at least you can actually get into your hotel room straight away, relax, freshen up, and carry on with your day.

That is a good suggestion, I just don't know that we want to shell out another $250 for an extra night, where we'd only get a few hours use out of it. However, with 3 kids, we may just do that! Thank you!!

  4. Thank you so much! We're going in May of next year! I think I have it narrowed down to Holiday Inn Port of Miami (but the reviews aren't great, Hampton Inn, which has a small pool, or Hilton Downtown. I'm hoping to use CC points to pay for the stay. Anyone know if it's easy to get places from the Hilton Downtown? I loved that the Hampton Inn had so much area info on their website.

  5. Hello all! My husband and I are looking into possibly doing a redeye flight getting into MIA before 7 a.m. Will the hotels let us drop our bags off and go out into the city until our hotel room is ready? I've read about some hotels in Miami, but is there an area of hotels where there would be fun things to do within walking distance? We will have a blow-up car seat for our 3 year old, but we're trying to avoid too much car travel. Any hotel/area recommendations are appreciated! We're looking to pay around $200-$250 for a Fri-Sat night. Thank you!

  6. My wife went on the flow rider with a two piece bikini, left with a one piece.... Took her about 10 sec. to realize it. Now I know why there is always a majority male crowd looking on. worst part I was recording her ride on my phone. Maybe i should delete it[emoji848]

What is your most embarrassing cruise memory?

I’d die! But i think it’s hilarious and would for sure laugh with my hubby about it! Btw, there’s no way he’d delete that video!! 😉 Thanks for sharing!

  7. Thanks for the help. We booked a Miami flight so transportation will be easier. Can we assume the hotel shuttle would have car seats for kids? Or, do I need to look at the ones mentioned above that offer that service? I am assuming the hotel has transportation (assume fee-based) for the POM transfer so they should have car seats available.

    Like this?

That will work for my 4 year old but not my 1 year old. It seems odd to me that this isn't easier given the # of kids I see on the cruise unless most folks are bring car seats which is a PITA.

Yes, that’s the one we have. Def wouldn’t work for the 1 yr old, but if you use the shuttle I believe they don’t have to be in a car seat, but I could be wrong. I know you didn’t mention the Comfort Inn specifically, but their transportation from the airport to hotel and hotel to port are free. We will obviously tip, but that is another reason this hotel is appealing since we’re just using it as a place to sleep. Oh, I did see on my FB feed a collapsible car seat... I just googled it and found a couple things...maybe this one would be an option? https://www.watchwhole.com/products/adjustable-baby-car-seat-for-6-months-5-years-old-baby-safe-toddler-booster-seat-child-seats-potable-chair?variant=37876803137&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIp5TV58-O3AIVSY1-Ch3a6wsxEAQYBCABEgL9EvD_BwE

  8. We are looking at the Comfort Inn Miami Airport hotel. They do transfers from the airport to hotel and hotel to the port. It would be a shorter ride without car seats. We recently stayed at a Comfort Inn and were impressed with it. We have 3 kids,3,7,and 8, so having transportation from airport and to the port was important to me. We do have a blowup travel car seat we’ll bring for the 3 yr old so we have it for the island stops.

  9. Hello all! My husband, 3 kids (9,8, and 3 at time of sailing) and I are sailing Symphony May 2019. We are hopeful that the waterpark will be complete, but since we understand that construction delays happen, I'd like to book either a beach bungalow or chill island cabana just in case. The cabana photo I found looks nice and I like that we could play music in there since we have 3 kids, but I don't know if it'll be worth the price difference. The cabana is $399 and bungalow is $244. I don't have the money to reserve both and cancel one later, so i'm just looking for people's opinions. Do bungalows sell out pretty quickly? I'm mainly hoping for something that we can relax in and be close to the sand and ocean. Thank you!

  10. Is royal still doing my Vegas and pop slots? I do t see them in the reward section anymore.

They just recently were removed, no one seems to know why or if they'll come back, but hopefully they do!! I did just cash out a $100 OBC about 2 weeks ago.

  11. They don't use Royal IQ on Symphony, it now uses a different app called Royal (!) On Symphony we were given 15 minutes free Internet time to download the app. The guy on the help desk was great. I found it wayyyy better than the old IQ app.

Great! Does it have a texting feature that you can purchase?
