Coco’s: The Food
We really enjoyed our crepes after being out in the wind and cold in Skagway. The couple next to usenraved about the Tiramisu Sunday too. Pam’s not into chocolate (other than the chocolate lava cake in the MDR) but she thought a lot of the pastries on display looked enticing.
Pam ordered the Crepes Suzette
I had the Dulce De Leche Crepes
They were both excellent and we’d order them again!
I found the Tiramisu on the menu and can I say OMG!!! Was it delicious? You both appear to be taking in all of what this ship has to offer and share it - so wonderful of you, and I might add I'm a lot envious!
Can I shoot out another request for a photo of the specialty restaurant kid menus? The other poster did post it but for some reason the photo's have disappeared :o. Thank you Tiramisu - I can't wait!!!!

Complimentary kids menu

I still can't see the photos (complimentary kids menu from specialty restaurants) :)

Do not really understand why you are suprised about the cocos.
All was known in advance especially due to the TA live thread.
So in my opinion there is not really much new you can report about the ship, but the ports of alaska and everything outside the ship.
FUNNY! I was wondering if someone was going to get disrespectful! That is too bad. This thread is MUCH different than the TA as this starts the "normal Alaska" sailings with hopefully the menus that will carry through to the end of this season. This is the most thorough well thought out guide and I'M SO APPRECIATIVE for the thread and for them taking time out of there precious time on their vacation to find out answers for us!!!! Leave the negativity in your home NOT here.

Wondering if I could ask one more favor of you? We have a 10-year-old and I'm not sure that I want to buy him the specialty dining plan as he is a VERY picky eater - everything must be plain! I read in the dailies that there is a special kids menu that is free in the specialty restaurants - I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind snapping and posting a photo of it? As always this is much appreciated!!! love your thread!

This was the NCL Tracy Arm Fjord and Glacier Explorer Cruise that a couple of people asked about on this thread.
Warm, heated interior cabin. Free snacks and coffees. Food and drink for purchase. Ample outside deck space to get those bear photos.
For one of the drinks, the crew fished up some glacier ice and made margaritas ($8).
Thank you for re-posting! I knew it was mentioned but I'm following 2 of you and you were the one that posted GREAT photos - I should have went back to re-read, sorry for the double post:)

The tour operators were constantly looking for wildlife. The bear was along shore eating berries. Unlike the Bliss, we could stop and take some photos. We saw a couple of bears. Once the salmon start running, there will be a lot more bears on the shore feeding.

What excursion was this and did you book through NCL? I'm sailing this time next year so it might be rare that I see a bear :( but I really want to.

I saw the photo of the bear - where was that? did you get to see that on your excursion? Will you remind me what excursion that was? JUST ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PHOTOS!!!!

We will try to ask for a kids menu when we are at Cagneys later this week and I’ll post the picture here for you.
The MK is a hooded vest. I believe that we found it at a Nordstrom Rack. Or perhaps it was at Saks Off 5th. We got it about a week before our cruise.
Thank you for possible getting me a photo of the Specialty kids menu - AND I'm googling the MK vest ;) - So have you just worn jeans on your trips off to the ports? I was only going to pack 1 pair - but due to the rain, I may need more?;p
-
Another request :) Is there a possibility you get a photo of the kids menu that they use in the specialty restaurants - that are free - I have a very picky 10 year-old and I'm debating on buying a specialty package for him. Thank you in advance -
WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR MK hooded hat - is that a jacket or a vest? super cute!!!!!

Thank you in advance and BTW - the buttered pretzels = yummy looking and the fish and chips too - How did it taste?

We entered through a crew door into the casino on Deck 7. Looked like there was another entrance.

Thank you for the quick reply!!!!:)

Hi!!! I'm going to ask a question from the first day, boarding - What deck did you board on? I thought I read somewhere you entered the ship from Seattle into the Casino? Is that correct? I hope you are enjoying your day!!!!!!
-
We sail Alaska often and enjoy sitting outside nightly in the extra sunshine whale watching.
On a prior cruises, we were also treated to sailing through pods of thousands of dolphin. Magical.
You are SO WONDERFUL to reply to every comment/question while on your vactation - I can not express my gratitude enough!!!
So you can actually see whales from your balcony, how about on this cruise, any yet? ;)

Depends on the time of year you're going. Here is a link to an AK daylight calculator:
Thank you! I will be on this sailing one year from now, with the exception that we are supposed to be cruising Glacier Bay.

Ya know - right after I posted this I looked on the daily and if gives the times of sunrise/set. Sorry to ask ANOTHER question that I could have answered myself.
On a side-note are you enjoying the extra daylight?
-
Here is a new question for you - how long is it daylight there? I have never been to Alaska and they are mostly daylight now, right? Thanks.

I actually, in fact, went back and re-read the thread and I only asked 1 question twice which I apologized to BirdTravel for asking that question re: the daylight as the FD had it listed (I have posted (not all questions) maybe 8-9 times in this thread), not all is posted the same in the other. The TA was a very different itinerary, and I also just joined CC at that time. From that thread I learned to be very grateful for the thread starters to share their personal life with thousands of strangers, with most of them asking thousands of questions. SO in my post, I like to write my thankfulness. I don't think it is respectful to them to hijack their thread, if you have an issue with me you should solve it with me, not here. I believe the thread starters need to read that their dedication is appreciated from not only ME, but all who partake. My life is about ME and my family. But at this given moment it is ALL about BirdTravels thread and their wonderful vacation - let go and let them read nice things (not negative things) after all it is their thread.
