  1. Ok so not sure where everyone thinks we had a "bad" cruise we had a great cruise had fun but there were some differences we saw that were not in line with what we had experienced prior. Thought that just like us ,we want to hear ALL both good ,bad and differences about a ship, a destination, tours the whole thing so we can make a choice for our next cruise. Yes we did do a private tour and we did have to get in touch that morning with the tour and it had to leave later and change it around, not so bad but things are not being able to seen or done it is a let down. We mentioned with food situations because those did stand out to be different than a year ago. So take what info helps or does not help you about the CB. Princess is still our choice if they are going to the itinerary we are looking for.

  2. Back from the CB 2 weeks so here is what we noticed from sailing last March to this March same ship. The rooms upon entering (mini suite) were not as clean as they were ,dust on all the lamps and looked like it was time for a good deep down scrub all around the cabin. Balcony chairs and tables not wiped down. (all week) Our cabin steward was good but looked like he was always busy he did provided us with anything we asked for.(gave him an extra tip)

The 2 main shops where closed due to remodel only the jewelry and small side store with odds and ends opened. Best to dine in main dining room for breakfast and lunch as no seats in buffet and not as many selections as last year. Dinner menu was not as nice as last year no everyday New York steak offered at all and deserts seam to have been down to 3 choice or the basics. Our table of 10 had many a night that several very seasoned cruisers declined to order courses. Said they also felt that things were not as nice. Service took way too long. We never left our table till about 10 pm with a few nights skipping desert because we would miss all night activities. Ultimate soda package was worth it if you order mock tails at dinner and around the ship, they were good and our table servers have a 2nd always ready right in the wings. Noticed also photo ops not as much as before and they stopped early too. There is no smoking in the casino on formal night good to keep the nice clothes smelling good.

Shows were so so and not enough chairs for the MUS. Ports were good except St Thomas 6 ships in port and we had to tender since they wanted the newer Princess ship at the dock. which made us have to get to port 3 hours earlier and leave 3 hours earlier. Really made for a bad schedule of tours and the guides juggling more people than usual trying to fit more people on a vehicle and wait to pick up more people.

We like the layout of this ship and always have a great vacation and this was but we did see that things are not as "special" as they felt before. May try a different line as our table mates advised of some other great options. We are platinum and it did truly feel like things are been cut back on making it feel lacking in what made us choose Princess over Carnival. And as a side note came home with a very odd itchy rash on my arms to my elbows, no reason as to why but it is a devil and nothing works on it yet thinking it's time for the doc.

  3. So we will be sailing on the 7th and hope things calm down this week and all will go well. Went through our area and work about 2 weeks ago. Funny we work in a large building lots of people and they said there was about 200 people sick. Now there isn't even 3000 people in our building so ratio to the ship and people ill is interesting to look at. But lots of lysol, clorax wipes, loads of hand washing we hope for a fantastic cruise.

  4. This is an adult pool and our last cruise last year we were so looking forward to a peaceful time at the pool aft. BUT 3 families and 2 kids in diapers !! yes diapers IN the pool. Everyone quietly got out and mentioned the signs and finally a gentleman advised the crew and they said so sorry we can't ask them to NOT use the pool. Oh never mind about the diaper with who knows what was inside. Needless to say we did not use the pool the rest of our trip. Going in the next month and not sure if we want to go there again. This just made us goo owww yuck!

  5. Do put it on your personalized cruiser. We are celebrating my parents 60th anniversary but we had 1st plan the cruise by our selves to celebrate 35 years my husband has been with the company. Long time but still too young to retire. But it is our celebration time and I always say go for it !

  6. We leave in about a month and ordered them from on board gifts for us and our folks. 56.00 per person but includes so much. They also said we should have the sticker on our card as we board, no going to pick it up anywhere and that in the rooms we will have the gift tumblers that go with them waiting. Just think it will be nice to not worry about ordering what we want when we want too.

  7. We had this Emerald deck cabin and LOVED IT. We were right about the club and heard nothing. We are not late late people so we were in our cabin by 11:30 to midnight and never bothered. We loved it so much we booked 10 months ago to get one of these cabin for our cruise next month. Love it being covered but still a big balcony and enough sun too boot. NOW if you are a sun bunny it may not be for you but it really is nice having the privacy too. And there is little to no movement we noticed from mid to aft location and May is a pretty calm month too.

  8. Thank you for the info and I am so glad they post the dress code. You've paid for a fantastic trip enjoy, dress up and for heaven sakes follow the dress code. You can choose to dine else where on the ship but if going into a formal dinning room on a a formal night it mean formal. Our last cruise on Princess they did turn away 4 people because they were beyond casual . But once again thank you for your information.

  9. Thank you for that info that may be a great way to go. Just worried about the traffic as last time we were on the island we had a wreck.(not our fault :>) Would not want my older parents to experience that and it being their 60th anniversary that day. They married in France and spent their honeymoon in Nice , couldn't afford to take them to Europe so St Marteen is the closest we can get them to French soil. I wonder if a taxi driver would take us on this route ? Wondering if they would for $30-$50 per person.

  10. We want to go really only to the French side Marigot and would like to see the 2 side country marker any ideas how to do this easily and discounted? I can't find a tour at all and we aren't interested in the beach or seeing planes. Not sure how much ataxia would be for 4 people to do this and I understand to give about 2 hours to get back to the ship because of traffic. Anyone have some ideas? Appreciate the help.

  11. Anyone know if you pre purchase do you get a form to turn in to get your sticker in your room on embarkment day or do you have to call and wait for them, or are they on a list at the sign up tables? Just wondering as want to use them as soon as on the ship. :D

  12. So when you took Grand Turk Express booth and paid $19 a person Can you tell me how long is the tour and is there time to shop. Taking our parents it is their 60th anniversary and we want them to see a lot and have time for shopping and not worry about missing the ship. I think however that might be hard on the island but we've seen it happen on other cruises. Also are they right in the terminal ?

  13. So we booked the Caribbean Princess and have noticed that the Regal that sails the day after is about 300. or more less for the same rooms. Wondering if this new ship is just not getting filled up but really surprised that the CB would be so much more. Only one other stop at Grand Turk but same time frame. I even called and the rep said there are lots and lots of cabins still available on the Regal. We love the CB and don't want to change but very surprised a new ship wouldn't be the 1st to sell out. Any thoughts?

  14. I heard the Princess has and will be charging $3.00 for room service and $10.00 for pizza delivery . Anyone else hear this? I guess they are saying the Regal does it now and it will move to all other ships. HUMMM that was one of the perks that brought us to princess but will be really disappointed if we have to miss the morning danish and such.

  15. We do not port in San Juan so I think we are on the other route. St Maarten st Thomas and Grand Turk. So it sounds like it would be the Sun and Thurs. nights if I'm reading right.

My parents 60th anniversary is on the Sun so just trying to be sure we can plan. Thanks

  16. On the Caribbean Princess eastern run that leaves on a sat is the 1st formal night the next night Sunaday because the next day is at sea and when is the second one? Is that on Thursday the night prior to the day at sea too?

  17. We were on a cruise ship in the pacific when Japan was hit and the tsunami warning caused our ship to stay out to sea as it was safer than trying to hit land. We were heading to their on the last day and did not get to port till 3 pm the next day. So they do take all safety into consideration.
