I was thinking the same thing. Sure wouldn't want my

S+S card hanging outside my room until I got there. Any jackhole can buy FTTF and get down the hall early, if a credit card can be scanned while in your pocket why not S+S card in a mailbox? Not rocket science to hang out till occupants leave for dinner, slip in, 10 minutes, back out, steward's busy cleaning rooms. We live in a small rural town, and are very trusting, but we're not stupid.

Why wouldn't the cards be handed to you at check in like always or given to the steward to hand out

We stayed at the Marriott across from the Port about 8 years ago. I believe the casino was one block to the left and the port was one block to the right(facing River).

 

I remember walking directly across to the ship then taking some type of walkway for 1 block. The main thing I remembered was that there was a bunch of stairs . It was a huge pain with the suitcases even with wheels.

 

On the way back, I believe we went through the mall (and maybe the convention center?) to the street before walking the block and there were no stairs!

 

Thought it was worth a mention!

I think you have to be a 7 star or above to park at the casino for free!:)

Platnum and higher and the will validate parking the host at the casino at home suggested i do this.

So we are staying at the Sheriton and i was told i could leave my car at the casino for free just wondering how far it is to walk from Harrahs to the port is it something we could do? Or should we just suck it up and pay parking? Has anyone did this before? Maybe they have a shuttle hmmmm... i will check into that. Any and all help is apreciated thanks :)

Now thats funny. I tried some kind of pork and loved it went back and got another plate and felt guilty about it....lol I'd probably die if i went back 36 times lol tooo funny

They don't put enough food on that little plate to feed a mouse, I had to go back 36 times ;)

We also have ordered the wings and they were very good and although i dont remember how many we got DH had to finish mine so i could eat my cake. LOl a girl has to have priorities :)

We always use a debit card and have never had any long holds on our account ( just lucky i guess) Anyway if i win in the casino i always put cash on my account along with the debit card to offset my spending.

The issue is not whether the cards have a pin or not. Its the fact that Carnival does not require the pin to use the card. So, anyone who goes on the Carnival website and guesses a gift card number (which is not hard to do at all!!) can use someone else's money. This is entirely Carnival's issue for not having enough security for their cards. I was able to go to Carnival's site and find a valid $500 gift card after only 2 guesses!!! So if I could do it that easily, so can all the actual thieves out there.

 

The OP bought the cards in 12/15 and they were all valid. But before they had a chance to use them, someone else used them by the method stated above. So, Amazon did nothing wrong...they sold valid cards that the numbers were then stolen off of. And it is Carnival's fault that they make it so easy to steal card numbers.

 

I posted again to John Heald today, and he says to leave it with him and he will get it to the right people, so hopefully they correct it soon and begin requiring the pin numbers.

You are exactly right Amazon did nothing wrong nor did the OP. Waiting so long to use the cards was not a good idea though. just my opinion.

I would think that Amazon should have some responsibility, as they sold you "faulty" gift cards. Since you can show that you bought them on X date, and the cards were used prior to that, they should be held accountable. Just my $0.02.

The cards were bought in 2015 and used in April 2016 so the cards were valid when the op purchased them. OP tried to use them in August 2016 and found out the had already been used. Really has nothing to due with the seller. Like previous posters have stated it isnt hard to figure out the numbers if only the last 4 are different.

I always have brought a fan also. I got a small clip on fan from walmart i have never had a problem getting it on board. I pack it in my luggage.

I never really could understand the concept of complaining while on VACATION!!! If you dont like somthing move on to somthing else sheesh :D

The coffee shop does still have that cake - not sure the current price. But my sister has discovered that the chocolate cake offered through Room Service is just as tasty!

My personal opinion is ALWAYS check any bed your going to sleep in period. Bed bugs people!!!! I always pull back the bedding, pull up the sheets and look at the mattress and under the bed and at the headboard. I NEVER put my clothes in any type of drawer unless I look first and Always make sure it is up to my standards.

I hate to say it but you could have had wet feet or sat on the bed after being wet and it could make a stain thru the bedding. Just check first to be safe.

 

I have been on a few Carnival cruises and have always seen people cleaning things all the time. I however to bring my own Clorox wipes and wipe down stuff myself but that's me. I always wash my hands and DO use the hand sanitizers as well. I personally have the small bath and body hand sanitizers in my pockets and use.

I thought i was the only one that always checks the bedding for cleanliness and bed bugs never can be to carefull :)

This seems harsh. I'm a smoker who follows the rules, and as far as I know, I've never wronged you. So you'd have me climb the smokestack?? And what? Hopefully have a heart attack so I don't ruin your cruise sitting in one of 3 areas I am allowed to smoke in?? Carnival has given me the right to smoke in a select few designated smoking areas just as you have been given the right to a majority of a rather large ship that is smoke free. I don't know why non smokers feel so wronged by smokers?? Now I understand the casino, since it's an enclosed space. I even avoid that area because of the amount of smoke, but to insinuate I should climb the smokestack ( or just not to be allowed to smoke at all since I gather that's what you'd really like) makes you seem rather petty. Me sitting in my smoking section on deck affects you in no way. People are aware where those sections are and you need not come through those areas to get to any other areas on the ship. It's comments like this that makes smokers so defensive. Just my two cents....😕

I dont mind the smoking areas and smoke really doesnt bother me unless its going right in my face and I am not beyond asking someone to kindly blow the other way if its coming my way. Just because smokers choose to smoke shouldnt mean i have to inhale too.... RIGHT? Your comment was single minded.

Its really a no win situation. for both smoker and non smoker.:(

Unfortunately if you are on dialysis you should not cruise because a friend of mine went on a vacation and pre arranged to have his dialysis done and they made a mistake and he died.

When we went in December Rock of ages was one of the shows it was AMAZING i went to both show late and early :)

Well i cant speak for anyone but myself in saying we have taken the same cruise several times. We have friends that live in the ports we go to so it is like 2 vacations in one. Also, its really not about the ports its the cruise itself we love. So to each their own. I am sure there are many reasons why people do the same ships and ports over and over again, just like i am sure they are enjoying every minute of it or they wouldn't be doing it. It may not be for you and thats ok, just trying to give you a different perspective.

I personally find it amazing, not in a bad way, that anyone can take 10 cruises ..... 20, 30 cruises on one cruise line and no others. With so many other ships, ports, and competitive pricing on others I found it strange that people don't spread their wings. I find it even more bizarre when I look at people's cruise signatures and see some of these one line passengers have been on the same ship 16 times and have done the exact same itinerary 6 or 7 times on these ships. What gives? I can't understand it. That would be about is exciting to me as reading the US tax code with an anticipation level of minus 10.
