Hi LoriPhil,
Nice to hear from you, have been off CC for a couple of years, while it was nice making so many new friends it got to the point of being silly, could not relax on a cruise for folks wanting help etc, so have not told anyone what we were doing, however do have a cruise booked for end of next year, Scotland doing well no deaths for some time, daily infections did rise but that was mainly down to easing of measures, kids going back to schools next month as normal, pubs serving out door just now indoor soon, wearing of masks now normal, nobody really has issues with government advise apart from teens who think nothing can touch them. Just infection rate is below 1% with about 20 new cases in Scotland.
Stay save out there

Hi All,
l think cruising will be a bit different, more hand washing, more screens, less sharing, buffet will not be self service, however with this new stricter hygiene noro virus may become less of an issue,
We have booked a cruise late 2021, so do we have any fears, only one that US will not do what is required to be covid-19 free
all being well Scotland will be covid free very soon, if we go to US we could be required to go into quarantine on our return home.

Hi All,
So sad to see covid-19 numbers rising in other parts of the world, while we had a hard lock down, the government has had to spend big to save jobs, with more billion pound spending announced today, however we should be covid-19 free within a few weeks all being well,

Hi
While the rear admiral words were colourful, the British Coast Guard made some good points here in the media,
this had been going on for years, involved a number of ships which meant a lot of engineers knew, when questioned many said they had been told to lie because of pressure from senior engineers even when being questioned some junior officers lied, he went on to say that they were not looking to prosecute junior crew because of the threats of senior crew, this guy who spoke out would I assume had same pressure or threats to career applied, but was the only one to do the right thing.
Assume part of the payout to him is to cover loss of income from the job he trained for and dreamed off.

Hi All,
This story is all about a very honourable young Scot, who after years off study landed his dream job,
only to find wrong doing, how many of us put in a similar position would have done the right thing,
and walked out and told the authorities,

Hi All,
While the event is old I think this is the first time we have heard details of the whistle blower and his payout,
hence the reason BBC news is running the story,

Hi All,
So the tender platform opened while at sea for unknown reason,
OK electrical fault, some one pressing the wrong button, but I thought
those doors had a manual lock ie big pin that had to be removed before
the hydraulics would work.
anyone know for sure

Hi All
Just noticed this in the small print,
The plea agreement and penalty must be approved by a Miami federal judge. If it is, $14m will be earmarked for environmental projects in Florida, Britain and in international open waters.
Hope Princess PR guys do not use this for spin in years to come to say how much good things they do.

Hi All
The name tags are important,
it easy if you have taken a few cruises to go onto
auto pilot when making your way back to a cabin, its not the first time I have
gone to the right cabin but on the wrong deck, or have gone to a cabin I had
the last cruise, now I have never tried to get in, because I saw the name tag,
but I would think if there was no name tags at all, loads of folks would be
wondering around lost knocking on doors.

Hi All
(As part of the plea deal, cruise ships from eight Carnival lines will remain under supervised probation for five years, subject to independent audits and monitoring.)
Lets hope they do enforce the rules.

Hi All,
$40,000 000 is a fair bit of money, but what about the folks who make a living
out of the seas around the UK, Princess needs to make some form penance to
them may be give a few million to fund anti pollution measures, or marine
conservation.
