The Old Town Trolley has a connector trolley that stops near the pier at stop 17A. https://www.trolleytours.com/boston/map

It takes you to Stop1 where you can transfer to the main trolley loop.

The Silver Line bus stops near the pier.  For $2.75 you can go to South Station to do a free transfer to the Red Line subway.  The Red Line will take you to Park Street for the Boston Common and the beginning of the Freedom Trail.  The Red Line also goes directly to Harvard Square and has free transfers to the Orange and Green lines to go elsewhere in Boston.  https://cdn.mbta.com/sites/default/files/maps/2018-04-map-rapid-transit-key-bus-v31a.pdf

Lots of possibilities.  If you want to go elsewhere, post back for suggestions.  If you want to go out to the Constitution, the suggestion is to do that first by Uber and work your way back via MBTA water taxi, walking back to the Common, and Red Line/Silver Line back to the port.

We’ll be in Boston from 0800 till 1800. We are thinking of doing the HOHO for the full circuit then maybe take it around again getting off in the areas we want to spend more time. We would like to walk some of the Freedom Trail and have lunch at a “local” restaurant. We are more into history of the area.

    Thanks for ideas.

  2. My husband and I had an overnight stay in Anchorage after our Denali/Yukon cruise tour in August 2018.

Don’t know if this is your situation. We left our luggage at the hotel, used a car rental company that picked us up at the hotel and drove us to their office site.

We then drove along the Seward Highway to see the sights. We drove back to hotel to pick up luggage, back to car rental company, then they drove us to the airport. Thrifty car rental on Spenard.

    Hope this may help.

  3. Hello all, I know some may tell me to go to the board for the Canada/New England cruises but I am looking for specific info from HAL cruisers.

DH and I are doing the 10 day cruise in April and choosing our excursions. I am looking for any yeas/nays on the following tours:

    Bar Harbor:

Acadia National Park and lobster bake

An intimate look at Acadia National Park

    Halifax:

    Explore the ocean floor

    Historic Lunenburg

O Canada Eh? A small group tour

    Sidney, Nova Scotia:

Relive history at the fortress of Louisbourg

    Charlottetown, PEI:

    Charlottetown on your own GPS

    Fun with Falcons

Island drive and Anne of Green Gables

    Quebec:

    A walk through Old Quebec

Thank you ahead of time, I know this is long but any ideas and comments are appreciated.

    :classic_rolleyes:

  4. Hi,

DH and I are taking a HAL Canada/New England cruise in 2019 leaving from Fort Lauderdale. Looking for opinions concerning port or starboard. We will be getting an ocean view due to the promotion that was offered.

    Thanks for comments.

  5. Congratulations! We cruised in a Neptune Suite to Alaska last month, and LOVED it. The space is great. We were just steps away from the Neptune Lounge. We got such a deal that I am sure it is the one and only time we will be sailing in one. It is going to greatly enhance your cruise. ENJOY!

    Thanks, looking forward to it

  6. Con grtula tions. Hope you really enjoy your Neptune .

What were the questions you were so careful to ask?

I wanted to make sure gratuities didn’t change since we had prepaid, and our cruise protection. These were mentioned in the small print. Thanks

  7. I don’t mean to be snooty 😂 about this, but we were just offered an upgrade to a Neptune suite from a Signature suite, YEA. Well, we took it and are now in an aft wraparound cabin for our Alaska land/cruise tour.

Down side is I will probably now be really spoiled. 🙁

After reading posts on CC I believe I was able to ask the right questions before finalizing the change. So looking forward to this!
