I think there are wristbands used to control access to that area. We were in a similar situation with a group of 10 and definitely couldn't afford two cabanas so we opted to not get them.
-
I dont really see any reason why not. We plan on bringing a little shade thing for the baby along with our own floats.
-
How do you attach a dry erase marker to the door?
-
We're still debating on a package for our cruise next year... Can someone help out with the prices I've compiled?
Water - $3
Soda - $4
Beer - $6 - $8
Are the above correct? I'm still unsure about the below...
Wine by glass (white and sparkling) - ?
Mimosa - ?
Cocktails - ?
Bionic Bar Drinks - ?
I dont know how to attach, but this thread has a spreadsheet with all prices. https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2634718&highlight=drink+spreadsheet

In the solarium (AKA indoor pool) there are plenty of shaded areas with no direct sunlight. The roof is glass, so it is not shaded.
If the roof stays closed, the intense heat of Florida turns it into an oven of extreme distaste. It felt like it was 120F in there to me. It was a sauna. Sailing out of Bayonne or some cool weather port this might be the ideal way to enjoy cooler temps, but not in Florida.
Agree. Not only does it feel like a green house in there, it also has a pretty intense smell of chlorine like an indoor pool.

I plan to mostly pack things that are easy to pack. Coloring sheets, stickers, etc. These usually keep even my older kids entertained for a while, plus the obvious iPad plus headphones. We probably wont bring many toys because even the young toddler can entertain herself with a simple cup.

Did you try moving after the GTY bookings got cabin assignments?
No, although I suppose we should at least ask the TA if there are any options available. The balcony rooms for 3 guests (we needed them joining and one with a pullman) are on deck 8 under the pool. I'm assuming that probably can't be moved. The other two rooms are on deck 7 and right near the elevator. One of the others is also an adjoining room but not with our group. Not sure if that noise potential is worth moving or if the noise from the pool deck on 8 would be worse.

This came up when we booked our 3 night. We have 10 people in 4 rooms. So that is two rooms with three guests each and the other two rooms have two in each. For the rooms with 3 guests, we were able to select the rooms and the other rooms with two guests were GTY. Unfortunately we ended up on separate decks :(

Just received my entire transcription history from Royal for a 7 day Southern Caribbean trip with my wife. I was able to secure the Deluxe drink package and Voom for $775 ($55 per person, per day). Without divulging what we spent money on, and understanding it was our 10th anniversary cruise, we would have spent almost double if we didn't have the package. Now granted, we probably would not have had as many specialty coffees, waters, and would have probably scaled the drinks back a notch - but it was TOTALLY worth it for us.
Cheers.
Thats great! Do you have an idea of # drinks for sea days versus port days?

Use what you have. The hardest part is storing the stroller because I believe you can’t leave it in the hallway.
-
I usually have my girls wear bike shorts not just for modesty but also because with heat and lots of walking I don’t want them uncomfortable from chafing.

Honestly the flat iron is my go-to. I can have a day at the beach, let it air dry in a pony tail and come back and just straighten with the flat iron and it looks presentable without washing.

For your next cruise why not fly into Orlando Melbourne or into Orlando Sanford, get transportation to the pier at Orlando Port Canaveral.:D;p
Orlando and Melbourne are two different cities! I wonder if some isn't agreements between the city of orlando and the port. Wanting to ensure travelers fly into orlando and not Jax.
-
Does anyone know if this change in port would also relate to any change in staff or changes on the ship? I assume maybe the 1 missing night is to just sail from Miami to PC?
-
Great question! I was curious too but I thought the first cruise was 6/22 out of PC? I'm probably wrong though.
We sail 7/13 and am curious to know if we will notice anything being so close to the change. I know one difference is that the route now is for Coco Cay day 1 and our itinerary has CoCo Cay day 2 (on the 3 night trips)

I tend to eat low carb. Mostly meats and veggies. I don't drink sugary drinks. I go for the low carb drinks such as diet coke and rum.
This is my goal and what works for me in maintenance mode at home.
If you are going to have a dessert thats fine, but after a bite or two, ask yourself if you really "need" it or if you would rather have a few bites of something else later.

Has the water levels come back up yet or are they really shallow? Last time the water was ankle deep for a long ways.
It may just depend on the ocean tides. Not sure that the ocean water level "comes back up" unless you mean glaciers melting?

Im pretty sure the cabanas are open for purchase by any guest.
-
For our 3 night trip, its listed at $50 pp/pd. I bought it already for $47.
-
Great to hear you followed up and thanked them for the quick service. I hope RCCL also notes that for those employees.

Can't wait to read the rest of the review!

The sale has our short 3 night July trip at $47. I booked it at this price about a month ago. Still trying to debating getting the package as a gift for my parents but its still a lot of money for such a short cruise ($332 for 3 nights!)
-
We aren't on Allure but it seems like Deluxe often goes down to $50 per day online (like every other week). I was able to snag it when it dropped recently to $47 pp/pd. Ive heard for bigger promotions/sales like Black Friday it got down to $45.

We are hoping to board early because we have 3 small kids (who have never cruised). We will pack some snacks for once we go through check in and are in the waiting area (we aren't in a suite or anything so we expect we may have to wait). I am hoping we can see some of the ship and let them get excited. Once on, I'm sure we will explore the ship some (they dont move quickly) and make our way to the WJ to eat and maybe a dip in the pool.
