  1. Same idea that I have. But it’s a little sad that there’s no dedicated snack area for the movies.

Nevertheless I’d do it like that...

Further we have second dinner time next year. I don’t know if we make it to the movies, when they’re broadcasted during our dinner time...

One thing to remember is that the buffet closes quite early (like 9:30 at the latest). So, no easy way to pop in there. I thought, at least in March, there were some movies that started at 10/10:30? The only reason I recall is because I dozed off waiting :loudcry:.

  2. What kind of service is provided during those outdoor movies?

Are there free popcorn and snacks served? Princess and Holland America do so, and also there’s a corner for complimentary warm food.

Carnival provides free popcorn during outdoor movies.

    And RCI On Anthem otS?

In March, I got my coffee before the movie and snacks (cookies) and brought them up with me.

  3. Sailing on Majesty going to Nassau and Coco Cay. Are the tenders accessible for wheelchair users? Are there sidewalks once at Coco Cay?

For Nassau we’re thinking of a DIY walking tour to Queens staircase.

    How are the sidewalks?

For Nassau, my DH used to use a motorized scooter. Some areas were pretty rough, but generally around town he was OK. Sometimes I'd have to help him out. I will say the police at the intersections were INCREDIBLY nice about making sure he had plenty of time to cross, was safe, etc.

  4. RCCL is providing information on their website and has been updating daily.

At the moment, the end of November is way out into the future. I was on the Allure 9/10 that never sailed and now waiting for an itinerary update for Allure 10/29. They have indicated, for the moment, they will make announcements approximately one month out (subject to weather changes I'm sure).

While it stinks (believe me, caught up in 2 this year for me), they will need time to determine which islands can accept ships, etc.

Also, RCCL is providing relief efforts to the impacted islands and I'm sure they need to factor in those continuing humanitarian drops (and I hope they continue that for a long time to come).

  5. DP - mine was e-mailed as my TA, RCCL and I were working out changing the booking (yep, the 9/10 Allure which is now the 10/29 Allure). So, don't know if I got it directly *just* because of the way they were handling the booking process at the time?

You can always call them and let them know that you don't want your TA to get it for whatever reason. They may be able to help you out.

Hope you are having a great time!

  6. I'm at the Embassy Suites on 17th tonight (9/14) for work (non-cruise related). I don't know the type of workers staying here for the cleanup, but I can confirm the hotel is open, with power, and drying out. There is a sign posted in the elevator that everything is operational EXCEPT dry cleaning. I've got a room on the west side of the building with no issues, but each floor has cleanup crews working on what appears to be the East side, and there's a large dehumidifier running outside. If you've got a reservation, call to confirm, but I don't see any issues staying here. Main room area may be a little musty still, but my room is perfectly fine. The happy hour and breakfast are up and running...which is what really matter on vacation, right? ;)

Thanks for the update, Crism. Since I'm not due until the end of October, sounds like it's proceeding fine to me there. Sorry you're there for work - but try to enjoy what you can! Again, many thanks!

  7. I spoke with my sales rep there yesterday. As of right now, about 1/2 of their rooms have water damage, and the other 1/2 are occupied by national guard, utility workers, first responders, etc. It sounds like most of their clean up won't take too long.

This is the Embassy Suites on 17th? Just making sure (since there's another one, but I think it's technically Dania)? I have plenty of time since I'm not arriving until 10/28.

  8. Thank you!

Sorry you could not make it!

She really wanted to meet you!

    Have fun on your cruise.

Maybe we can sail with you sometime!!!!

Thanks, John! I feel like i know her and was really looking forward to meeting her!

Hopefully we will all get to cruise together one day in the not-too-distant future. Until then, for now, I'll watch for updates, hope they have perfect weather and perfect seas. Those aboard deserve that much!

  9. Thank you for the information. We had to cancel late, so we didn't have time to research another cruise. It is 550 miles from where we live in Florida to Ft. Lauderdale. We live on the Gulf of Mexico side in the Panhandle. We tried to get down there but didn't happen, even willing to drive all night. We have been on the Allure and loved it.

    F

Well, I had to fly from NY, so I knew it would be mighty doubtful to be able to get there, a hotel, etc. if Irma was, well, what they predicted. No way I would drive that far alone either.

I, and my TA, started to seek altneratives. However, due to certain specifics, the only one would be Allure 10/29 (pretty much until 12/1). I haven't even told my boss I've rescheduled (all he wanted to know was if I was being "stupid" and riding it out in FLL when he was evacuating Miami). ;p

Hope you get to reschedule and it works out for you!
