What kind of service is provided during those outdoor movies?
Are there free popcorn and snacks served? Princess and Holland America do so, and also there’s a corner for complimentary warm food.
Carnival provides free popcorn during outdoor movies.
And RCI On Anthem otS?

In March, I got my coffee before the movie and snacks (cookies) and brought them up with me.

Thanks everyone for such an awesome review and allowing us to be virtual stowaways! But, seriously, Andrew - I need you or Lisa to tell me how you can pack for a week in one suitcase per person. I need to learn that skill before my next cruise!!

Sailing on Majesty going to Nassau and Coco Cay. Are the tenders accessible for wheelchair users? Are there sidewalks once at Coco Cay?
For Nassau we’re thinking of a DIY walking tour to Queens staircase.
How are the sidewalks?
For Nassau, my DH used to use a motorized scooter. Some areas were pretty rough, but generally around town he was OK. Sometimes I'd have to help him out. I will say the police at the intersections were INCREDIBLY nice about making sure he had plenty of time to cross, was safe, etc.

Love the....gesture....to getting departure information....coffee is all over my laptop!

Beautiful sunrise! Thanks for sharing and hope you and Lisa and the rest of the group have a super day!

I purchased Movados in Cozumel. It was a few years ago and still works just fine. Also shopped at other DI locations and, personally, have had no problems. Others have had awful trouble with them and have posted here on CC.

I'd *almost* be more worried about Lucy not forgiving you.

I would not pack it in luggage as, from time-to-time, luggage can be damaged or not arrive. Medical Equipment should always be carried-on.

With DH, while he had quite limited dining options due to food allergies, I used to go around, see what the choices were, and report back. Then repeat to get him his food. Sounds kind of labor-intensive, but, also gave me a chance to scope it out and decide what I wanted at the same time.

Happy Birthday, Christa!

Star Class includes gratuities and has for all the bookings I've made (with the exception of the gratuity for your Genie, of course).

I believe they have the cold fruit soups (or does that ship not have it?) That would add variety for you. And, I'm really certain if you explain the situation, they will help out.

RCCL is providing information on their website and has been updating daily.
https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/royal/US/en_US/cruise-ships/itinerary-updates
At the moment, the end of November is way out into the future. I was on the Allure 9/10 that never sailed and now waiting for an itinerary update for Allure 10/29. They have indicated, for the moment, they will make announcements approximately one month out (subject to weather changes I'm sure).
While it stinks (believe me, caught up in 2 this year for me), they will need time to determine which islands can accept ships, etc.
Also, RCCL is providing relief efforts to the impacted islands and I'm sure they need to factor in those continuing humanitarian drops (and I hope they continue that for a long time to come).

I cancelled the 9/10 Allure and the return of taxes/etc. hasn't been received (haven't been checking - figured it would take at least one month or more). If it goes to 2 months, then I'll probably start to wonder.
Can't comment on the FCC since my TA got it used ASAP onto another booking.

Wow....I had seen that there was damage; but, well, wow....
Then again, the people were safe, so, that is all that counts. (I'm dealing with work-situations were people were not, unfortunately, safe or status is unknown.)
-
DP - mine was e-mailed as my TA, RCCL and I were working out changing the booking (yep, the 9/10 Allure which is now the 10/29 Allure). So, don't know if I got it directly *just* because of the way they were handling the booking process at the time?
You can always call them and let them know that you don't want your TA to get it for whatever reason. They may be able to help you out.
Hope you are having a great time!

I have noticed it if it's a damp night sometimes (well, super-damp) and if I've had a bit too much sun that day (personally, too much sun makes the evening "feel" cooler to me). I usually layer with the light jacket on the plane to make it do double-duty (since, again for me, I'm freezing on planes).
Happy Cruising!!

I'm at the Embassy Suites on 17th tonight (9/14) for work (non-cruise related). I don't know the type of workers staying here for the cleanup, but I can confirm the hotel is open, with power, and drying out. There is a sign posted in the elevator that everything is operational EXCEPT dry cleaning. I've got a room on the west side of the building with no issues, but each floor has cleanup crews working on what appears to be the East side, and there's a large dehumidifier running outside. If you've got a reservation, call to confirm, but I don't see any issues staying here. Main room area may be a little musty still, but my room is perfectly fine. The happy hour and breakfast are up and running...which is what really matter on vacation, right? ;)
Thanks for the update, Crism. Since I'm not due until the end of October, sounds like it's proceeding fine to me there. Sorry you're there for work - but try to enjoy what you can! Again, many thanks!
-
Yes. They should be fully operational in plenty of time for your arrival.
Thanks so much. I thought as much (as I deal with this sort of damage - call it an "occupational hazard"). But wanted to be certain which hotel was being discussed (I forget how many really are there). At this point, the end of October is a lifetime away. Thanks, again.
-
I spoke with my sales rep there yesterday. As of right now, about 1/2 of their rooms have water damage, and the other 1/2 are occupied by national guard, utility workers, first responders, etc. It sounds like most of their clean up won't take too long.
This is the Embassy Suites on 17th? Just making sure (since there's another one, but I think it's technically Dania)? I have plenty of time since I'm not arriving until 10/28.

Great update, Ocean Dancer (well, in that he's stable and his wife can get there). Here's hoping he has a good recovery!
-
Thank you!
Sorry you could not make it!
She really wanted to meet you!
Have fun on your cruise.
Maybe we can sail with you sometime!!!!
Thanks, John! I feel like i know her and was really looking forward to meeting her!
Hopefully we will all get to cruise together one day in the not-too-distant future. Until then, for now, I'll watch for updates, hope they have perfect weather and perfect seas. Those aboard deserve that much!

People are boarding Allure OTS now!
My wife just called and she is onboard!
Great news!!! I'm so glad she made it (and Sheila too!).

Thank you for the information. We had to cancel late, so we didn't have time to research another cruise. It is 550 miles from where we live in Florida to Ft. Lauderdale. We live on the Gulf of Mexico side in the Panhandle. We tried to get down there but didn't happen, even willing to drive all night. We have been on the Allure and loved it.

Well, I had to fly from NY, so I knew it would be mighty doubtful to be able to get there, a hotel, etc. if Irma was, well, what they predicted. No way I would drive that far alone either.
I, and my TA, started to seek altneratives. However, due to certain specifics, the only one would be Allure 10/29 (pretty much until 12/1). I haven't even told my boss I've rescheduled (all he wanted to know was if I was being "stupid" and riding it out in FLL when he was evacuating Miami). ;p
Hope you get to reschedule and it works out for you!
Outdoor movies on Anthem?
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
One thing to remember is that the buffet closes quite early (like 9:30 at the latest). So, no easy way to pop in there. I thought, at least in March, there were some movies that started at 10/10:30? The only reason I recall is because I dozed off waiting :loudcry:.
