  1. We did it on the Reflection and loved it. The concept is charming, food was very good, the service was excellent and it was extremely quiet in the room...a welcome change from the noise of MDR.

  2. So glad you got excellent care and are feeling better.

On my very first Celebrity cruise I developed an antibiotic allergy and visited the medical facility onboard. I still remember how well (and how quickly!) they took care of me...I had to return for a follow up visit and they made it all so easy.

I second Susie's advice to seek care at the medical facility if an issue arises.

    I enjoy the occasional cigar - I know..I know..

Is there any are on the ship where cigar smoking (Celebrity Beyond) is permitted?

Much to my dismay my DH enjoys his cigars too and has always found a place to smoke them onboard.

If close to land yes, they will divert.  But most helicopter evacuations do not involve the copter landing.  It hovers above the ship and the patient is winched  up.

I have seen several of these helicopter evacuations since I used choose forward-facing rooms.

Richard Osman is a popular TV Quiz show host on Pointless in UK.
Strange to see that he is a popular writer for someone from U.S.

Loved the Thursday Murder Club books. I also enjoyed the SJ Bennett books (Windsor Knot etc.)  but I'm not sure how she is regarded in your part of the world as she fictionalizes the Queen.

I don’t care for lanyards. I found a cell phone case with a sliding cover on the back that I only use on vacation.  It holds two cards - usually my Sea Pass card and my id.

I am also Team No Lanyard and I think one of those phone covers to hold card will help me when I wear pocketless pants! At this point DH is very accustomed to carrying my lipstick but I like to keep my card with me incase we wander in different directions.

    Hi cruisegirlppp,

Sorry about that. I've been trying to clean it up and better organize it, so if you or anyone else have any idea, please email me at steve@tripinsurancestore.com . I welcome any feedback.

    Steve Dasseos

I hope that didn't come across wrong. All the information that you provide is important but can seem overwhelming the first time you encounter it...that is why I recommend a phone call. You and your staff are very knowledgeable and can help a traveler choose the appropriate coverage for their trip.

I agree. It is difficult for one person to be a great web designer plus a great insurance person.

I have been pleased when I spoke with Steve. He knows his stuff.

Exactly, they are very knowledgeable and have helped me choose the correct insurance for different situations.

I guarantee you that if we could we would bring a rice cooker.

Totally get it, daughter would not have survived USNA without her smuggled miniature rice cooker.

Yes, the woman was a quilter and going on a cruise with a lot of sea days.  They do make mini sewing machines that are very portable.  I wonder if it was confiscated or not.

We were on a TA once with many, many quilters who ALL brought their featherweight machines. They were given a conference room and allowed to keep their machines set up for the entire cruise. They even arranged a day when other passengers could tour the room to see their projects.

We just got off Eclipse and nearly threw the computer overboard trying to watch the darn thing. The webinar would stutter, stop and crash completely every minute or so. Finally we could not reconnect at all. When I went to the CC representative to ask about this, she said they knew about the “ glitch”.
I am going to contact CC in Miami to see if good intentions and bad webinar on a Celebrity ship count for something. After all, we were on a Celebrity ship at the time! 3 points is still 3 points…. I guess.

We were at land resort in the DR when this one came up so I plugged in ipad to watch. Of course electricity flickered and I lost connection, got it back and watched the rest of the presentation unplugged. Is there extra credit for doing this on vacation? 🤣🤣

  13. Our first cruise was in '96 to Bermuda on the Meridian, a beautiful old ship which met a sad fate. I vaguely remember bouillon being available in a huge silver serving carafe on sea days.

Cruising was certainly more elegant in those days but we don't miss dragging tux and evening gowns.

The robes are One size fit all if you are under 5’4” and weight less than 120 lbs 🤣

And if you are shorter than those specs - the 20lb. robe will drag on the  ground.😂

  15. It has never seemed too crowded. The main difference, to me, is that you are seated at a table so you don't have to wander around hoping to find a space to eat. Also, as a short person I don't like being lost in a sea of elbows trying to see what is on offer at the buffet.
