Did you have a tracker on the items? Find my phone app or something like that? If so, I would have demanded to use the ships Internet to find the location of these items.

Had a friend along who tried to help with this but kept running into problems with passwords, PIN numbers, etc. I finally just gave up on that. Had the app on the iPad but not phone. It was fairly new and I'm pretty tech-challenged. I plan on being better prepared in the future.

I have a hidden camera that I take along for hotels and cruise cabins.
It clears the air very quickly, and is hard to refute.
They are quite cheap now, and come in just about anything you can think of.
Amazon even has a huge collection for sale.
That is a great idea. Might have to look into that.

Did you hear anything back from security on whether they "dealt with" the suspect? Probably not likely...
No, and that's what really disappoints me. I would have thought they might have offered some information, but no. We did insist they come back to the room and see where the items were found.
-
Curious , are you assuming it was your room steward?
Assuming but not accusing because it could not have been, but all evidence points in that direction.

Really sorry to hear this, wondering what they took. We have left our cell phones, kindles, etc out without issues. Guess we have to re think that. Glad you got your things back. That crew member needs to walk the plank!

Cell phone and iPad. Yes, we have left things before too and never really thought about it either. Twenty plus cruises with Royal Caribbean and never a problem. We will do better from now on.

If you get the survey, mention it on there
Done!

just returned from a wonderful cruise to Cuba on Empress. However, the last day was very stressful to say the least. Had some items stolen from our stateroom and spent most of the afternoon with security. After a thorough search of our room (which was handled most efficiently and professionally) it was determined the items were definitely not there, then, when packing our bags to go home, the items "magically" appeared in a drawer that had been thoroughly searched earlier by security. Although we did not actually accuse or single out anyone, it is pretty obvious who was responsible. We did report finding the items to security and kind of just let it go at that not wanting to completely ruin the rest of our cruise. Reflecting on it on our way home, I think I would like to let someone at RCCL corporate know about this in hopes that maybe someone else might not have to experience this. Just looking for advice on who to write and/or email about it. Not looking for anything other than to make them aware of the situation. We were never really offered an apology from anyone about the whole thing. But, the cruise itself was awesome ! Does anyone have a suggestion on who to write?

Has anyone ever done the Carlos n Charlies Beach Break? We were planning on going to the restaurant/bar in Cozumel, but happened to see this and wondered what it would be like as we would like to go to a beach also and this might just be what we are looking for. Any thoughts?

There's a Margaritaville there now, in addition to the Senor Frogs.
Thanks!

We docked at the International Pier.
Is the International Pier the one closest to Carlos and Charlies in "town" or is this the newer pier close to Senor Frogs, etc.?

Thank you! So I guess that means if you have a request there is no one to ask? Specifically asking about a venue for a small group to gather.

Can someone tell me how to send an e-mail to the concierge on Empress? Is there a diamond concierge since there is no diamond lounge???

Easy exchange in the terminal and any hotel. Should have time after immigration and before boarding your bus.
Any additional comments about the cruise? I'd love to hear a report - going next month!

Thanks!

Asking for a friend as we are not coffee drinkers and I can't remember, but are there coffee pots in the staterooms? If not, can you get one? Or, is it a safety issue like travel irons?

I would stay on Clearwater Beach if you are there for two nights. We live here and there is just a ton of stuff to do on the beach. The downtown hotels are nice but not a whole lot going on down there. It is only about 45 min. to the port and probably shorter drive on the weekend.
Thank you! Any hotel recommendations?

I just stayed at the Marriott water front. The hotel was very nice you are down town lots to do in walking distance. I also just walked to the terminal. It's about a 5 minute walk down the water front walk.

Is there a pool?
-
I can't find much on the departures board, so I thought I would ask here. Looking for a good hotel to stay for a couple of nights pre-cruise in Tampa. Are there some nice ones close to the port? Would like something with a nice pool since we will be there a couple of days and won't have a car. Somewhere with some good restaurants within walking distance? Any suggestions?
-
Would you happen to know if either of these have a nice pool? We are going to be there for a couple of days and would like to spend some time at the pool. thanks!

Thank you so much for the reply!

I'm not really familiar with the port of Tampa. Only been out of there one time. Could anyone help me out with what area would be the best to stay pre-cruise and maybe some hotel recommendations? Thanks!

Thank you so much! We are going on one of the Cuba trips in May and will have some in our group who have never cruised - just hoping they are not disappointed since we have built it up so much to them!
-
How about the appearance of the ship? Did most things seem to be updated or did it look like an older ship? Also, how about the nightlife? Was there music in any of the venues, etc.? Thanks for your review.

We took our first cruise on the Nordic Empress several years ago and were hooked. We have booked the Cuba itinerary with a group of friends, some who have never cruised before. Just wondering if they would be disappointed in the ship or if we would be after cruising on some of the larger ones?
Just returned from Cuba cruise - looking for some advice....
