Why all the weird, "fussy" food?? Why not just some really good, well done (not olive garden or carraba's) traditional Italian dishes? I love a really well done, basil pesto on home-made fettuccini or a nice cheese tortellini in a veal and mushroom sauce. I guess I just don't get a mint-specked tortelloni with roasted lamb and a sauce I can't pronounce.

I'm sure I'll get flamed for not being adventurous, but I really just don't get the need for food that seems to be trying too hard. Just give me a really well-executed dish with a few simple but delicious ingredients and I'm happy.

I'm with you.  I haven't been to Sabatini's and was looking forward to selections of various pastas, chicken, pizzas, cheeses and salads.  Maybe a few different items.  But this menu has so many things I can't figure out what they are. Not keen on veal and squid- that's just me. Not sure what specialty restaurant I'll choose if any.  Sounds here that many others are excited about the new things- not me.  I've always liked the Crown and I hope they don't totally re-vamp that menu.

    Just my opinion.

Might want to reply with the ship you're going to be on. Menu's aren't the same. The Sapphire, for example, had only pizza.

Thanks for that info.  I didn't realize they vary.

I think this menu was from a posting for the Royal, that was why I saved it.

    Hope it was helpful.

certainly the above quote is not related to this particular situation, but maybe you will get another opportunity as it seems your cruise is sailing with a lack of currently booked passengers.

That's the impression I got.  Our inside cabin might be a good value for a sell to someone else since the price has gone up since we booked it when it was first listed.  We are retired so I'd even take a move over if it came along.  Never know.  We have no time restrictions.

When I was young someone said:

Ask, and you will receive. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened for you.

we have been able to negotiate in the past. —- or in other words—- it don’t hurt to try.

Yes, my Mom used to say- It never hurts to ask!

The rep was firm.  It was a bit disappointing she couldn't add something to make it a bit more worthwhile.

Still 4 weeks out and they have to complete some bookings yet.  We are happy anyway!

  5. We are on the 5 day Cabo Getaway following your 7 day.  I've had 2 upsell offers for about the same price as you.  When I called to inquire she said they were way oversold.  We passed on the offers because we are only doing the short 5 day and it was not worth the money.  It will be interesting to see if anymore offers come up!

Tried to negotiate for some OBC and she said no, the offer had no additional amenities.

We're happy either way!  Enjoy the cruise!

  6. HC is usually a mad house and IC is crowded.  I like to have a quiet lunch in MDR after being up early, getting transfer to airport, taking the flight, a shuttle to the pier, and finally boarding the ship!  Nice to sit down and relax.  Of course it could be hit and miss on it all!  As long as I'm cruising- I'll be happy!  :classic_biggrin:

  7. We are on this same cruise.  Have had 2 upsell offers.  Inside to a balcony and then to an obstructed OV.  This is a 5 day cruise and the cabin we have is in a great location- close but not at the elevators and midship.  Don't spend much time in the cabin to warrant the extra $$$ for 5 days.  When speaking to the person she said they were way oversold.

You'll love the wake view!  Enjoy the cruise!

We always order tea from room service on the first day.  We keep the carafe that they bring with the hot water and I go to the buffet to replenish the hot water, tea bags and sugar whenever we need it.

That's a great idea!  I'll have to try that.

I wouldn't want to waste packing space to pack an electric kettle!

Most likely it will be confiscated.

  9. Hi Lori (landlover),  Can't wait to see you onboard next month!

Planning to do lunch so going to arrive at around 10:30-11:00.  Always arrive at that time and have been onboard by 12:00.  I'm so anxious for some warmer weather in Mexico.  Looking forward to our sailaway!
