Lack of bars? From the looks of the tours on Youtube, there are a ton of bars.

OMG I love this comment so much. Thank you, Doc2725!

You can buy a drink package in advance I believe (that will allow you to get drinks at any bar?) and the date should be right when you get on the ship!

I googled "ocean cruises" with "Ikea furniture", and got a couple of hits for reviews of Viking Ocean Cruises.  Which I suppose makes sense, having not yet cruised with Viking, I can't report from personal experience, though.

It is said "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery".  I don't think that has been Celebrity's intention with the Edge.    ?

Right? Viking is expensive so really, would you people rather see them imitate Carnival???

It’s one night per cruise folks. If you don’t like it, don’t go. Personally, I don’t like Jane Curry, but lots of X cruisers go Gaga over her. I don’t spend any time complaining about about her. In fact I’ve probably seen her show 2 or 3 times. She’s a very nice lady and is always there after shows to take pictures and talk to the audience. I’m looking forward to trying both Eden and Andromeda. I may not like it, but I’ll give it a try.

    Right?!?!?

You know what people? This spaceship stuff isn't my thing either, but um, at least they're giving it a shot. These PERFORMERS are learning this is all new to them TOO. If everyone stays negative and these shows get cut, guess what?!?!? You'll are going to miss it and complain that it is a CUTBACK!

Hopefully they will share for details of the interior spaces including cabins. With booking being open in Febuary people would want to know cabin info at a minimum.

Me too. I bet they will have at least a computer design of what they'll be like. So much DRAMA on the other threads, I feel like VV is a return to sanity without infighting over the new cabins and performance info.

Exactly! And thank you.  Clearly Celebrity is aware of germ transmission issues, and I’m sure there are relatively strict guidelines as to exactly what the Edenists can and cannot do, and what they can and cannot touch. But judging the experience on a promotional video no doubt shot before a single passenger sailed on the ship just isn’t fair.

This is a fine dining experience. I don’t think they would do anything that harmed the presentation or plating of the courses. But maybe I’m wrong! I’ll find out in Feb!

Right?!?!?! Promo videos are just that, to give us an idea. I appreciate the people are concerned about health and I'm sorry I can't afford the Edge right, but I''d do my best to give it a fair chance!

Oh no!Yes, this promo is a great reason to not swim on Princess Boats! Good luck! Come on peoples, promos are meant to be fun!

If you’re concerned...just don’t eat there! Or go for lunch.

But have you actually experienced this dining venue? Have you witnessed anything unhygienic? Have you been on the ship? Perhaps all of these issues have already been resolved. It seems unfair to condemn the entire concept on hearsay.

Its a brand new ship whose design to me is fun and eye catching and imaginative. I’m not going to judge it until I’ve tried it!

    Right? BWAHAHAHAHA. Love this!

NO ONE in their right mind should allow someone, who may have just been rolling around on the floor or making bodily contact with other performers or diners, to come In contact with anything that is part of their meal.  PLEASE ????

It's really funny that everyone explodes at the mention of NORO running amuck on a cruise ship and yet the morons running the show think nothing about what is shown to be unhygienic practices on this possible petri dish of a dining venue.

I have to admit, we kind of all rolled around on the ground as kids, and even having our own. I'm really happy that we all turned out ok.  You'll be fine in Eden, too! Besides I'd never heard of them touching anyone's FOOD, UNLESS they take over for the chef?!?

I kind of get a kick out of B-Rizzle.  She doesn't cruise.  Has never been on the Edge. Has never experienced Eden in person....  yet LOVES Eden and thinks everyone else does, or most certainly should, too. I'm guessing it's the result of a mother's blind love for her son (who has some connection to Eden)?  Can't fault a mother for that I guess.

Oh my goodness, Sorry! My Bad! Bye...

    Wow ! That is weird.

We will NOT be sailing on Edge. We are also disappointed in Celebrity's new direction and have started looking for another cruise line. The "Petite Chef, Eden, packing in more cabins" … for us, this isn't Luxury Cruising.

    Don

I felt like this was a good way to show you guys what it's like! And Celebrity is not the first to do it - either way it always look better in person.

What people seem to overlook with EDEN is the space. Other than the weird show at night, the rest of the day this is a three deck high glass wall with a two level lounge and a ramp along the outside which includes many bright and comfortable seating areas.  I seem to think those complaining about no sea views and no quiet place to sit and read haven't looked at EDEN in it's totality.

Yup. Pretty much! It really doesn't matter what kind of vacation you plan on. Eden has advantages during the day too.

Eden itself looks awesome but the entertainment,  loud music and incense spray  are what most are objecting to..  B Rizzle does not cruise so won,'t be there in person

And if they blare that awful  wierdo music over the outside EDEN  speaker and I hear it on my 7th floor Sunset Veranda or in my cabin   I will not be a very happy camper!    Hoping it will be all gone by then but will be speaking with X about my booking in the mean time.  ( for our earlier Edge Cruise  we are not anywhere near EDEN..thankfully!)

Seriously? This year has been particularly bad for travel but also amazingly magical with new adventures to look forward to, so what are ya gonna do?

Seriously MOST OF THE TIME if you gave me the choice of a upgraded room over Eden or normal room somewhere else it would be a no brainer!

My wife and I have never been to Disneyworld - I think it would be a bit odd if I went onto a Disney forum and started lecturing everyone about how people should and should not enjoy things cartoon mouse related  ?  I wouldn't pretend to know the first thing about the place.

By your own admission you have never been on a cruise let alone a Celebrity cruise.

Whilst you obviously enjoy interacting with adults in costume in a make-believe environment not everyone does.  When we travel on a Celebrity Cruise we do not want a Disney-like experience.  We've seen Cirque Du Soleil shows for over 20 years  so the idea of people prancing around and interacting with us doesn't feel particularly innovative.

The vast majority of posters here don't even like been asked to upgrade their drinks packages, attend art auctions (which in this millennial led, trivia free, all things Miami seems to have surprisingly survived the cull) or even having seals leaflets sent to their cabin, so the idea that many would embrace strangers coming and interacting with them whilst they are enjoying a cup of coffee in a cafe seems naive.]

DYKWIA, do yourself a favor and check it out! There are grown-up places at Disney World and You would love it!

I have NEVER been on a cruise! I just started researching a little bit here and there and I really think Eden would help when people in my family literally want to see new things. Yes, now that my son is old enough to drink, these are amazing options!

  13. Yeah, See, Eden is full of people most seem pretty excited! Many are younger too. It just takes a few weeks to get their rhythm and flow synced out so that we can see them growing like this. Those of you who have been there and enjoyed it seriously need to tell all because It just so magical there to me!

I personally think they look awesome and I’m pretty sure I would love them.  In fact I think EDGE in general looks like an amazing ship.  Probably more of what I hoped VV would be like but time will tell on that one.

The good thing for you is that pretty much every other ship in existence doesn’t have the Infinite Balconies so they will be easy to avoid.

Right?!?! Thank you for helping me realize I'm not going nuts! Most of the newer reviews of EDGE are now coming in positive.  Everyone on the X forum needs to just RELAX!

I know VV will be AWESOME! We flew with them for YEARS!

As I posted a few weeks ago, I think X have been paying too much attention to the clothing optional charters 🙈 :classic_biggrin:.

They definitely might spoiled you, Villauk, and you might LOVED IT!

It's also rude and bad manners for a waiter to extend his hand to my wife and then turn to me and do the same, but that's what happened in the MDR on the Reflection last week. .  And in Blu on the Silhouette the week before a waiter addressed us by our first names constantly.  I said nothing in either case but maybe I should have.

First world problems much??? Maybe next time you need to wear a disguise.

And if you don't allow them to bother you, you're the hater.  We all should know where the hate is really coming from in today's society

    Really?!?!?! This is really AMAZING.

Does it sound so crazy for asking for RESPECT towards PEOPLE of Eden?  Celebrity could have just not given them to you and I loved that they did anywhere they want to go! There’s a real lesson about inclusion I think.

Folks....PLEASE do not copy photos/videos, etc from other websites and paste/embed them into our boards.  It's a copyright violation.  Please post only links.

Seeing photos of the Eden Characters for tomorrow would be AWESOME! I'd be happy with even a website link and hopefully it will bring some magic to those who couldn’t get there this Christmas! If they go outside of Eden you could just think of them as holiday wood elves.

On my very first encounter, years ago, with Cirque de Soleil interactive performers on a Celebrity ship, I managed to get kicked in the head by a clumsy performer, which is not the sort of interaction anyone wants.  So if I avoid all such performers now, like the Edenists, they have only themselves to blame.  They started it! :classic_biggrin:

Oh my goodness that’s awful! Hopefully that won't happen again. Merry Christmas!
