  1. an arm and a leg in my opinion LOL

Haha, I agree, way more than I pay at home. Even my massages at home are a much better deal! BUT...I don't expect crazy deals on board. Will keep an eye out for sales though, for sure!

  2. I took one of the Spa "Menus" from the Amsterdam last month and under Nail Services, there is no combo. (These services may vary by ship - I don't know). But the Traditional Pedicure is 45 minutes for $45.00.

A Repolish is $19.00 and a Nail Fix is $15.00.

    Hope this helps.

    Barbara

Barbara - Perfect - that was helpful. Thank you! <<hugs>>

  3. I had the traditional (cheap) manicure last month - 25 minutes for $29.00 plus the added service charge. Bring your own polish - whatever she put on my nails started coming off the next day.

Happy to see your post, as I only saw the pricier nail services. Do you recall what a tradition manicure (natural nails) and pedicure combo is? I will start out with a fresh mani-pedi but good to know that there is a cheaper option, in case I have a NAIL emergency! Haha!

  4. First things we do is check where our dining table is and go to the Explorers Lounge to request any changes. Then unpack and get everything out of the way before muster drill.

Only then does our cruise truly begin as we sip our one traditional Tropa-Mango-Mojitos in the Crows Nest as we sail away one more time saluting each other for our good fortune to out on the high seas once again.

Yum! Tropa-mango-mojitos sound DIVINE and I don't even love Mangos!😋 Like the way you celebrate though!

  5. During past cruises I have always been intrigued by the specials the Spa sends out, but I have never taken advantage. I recall one offer where you could choose three options for $99. Has anyone tried that? Can you tell me what your favorite services are? Thanks.

Browsing through the Spa Services...sounds like it is perhaps better to book once on board, in order to take advantage of any specials??

  6. The tiles are given to each Mariner of every star status at the Mariner's Brunch usually served on the last sea day of each cruise. You usually pick them up on the way out of the MDR.

Expect to receive an invitation to the Mariner's Brunch in your stateroom mailbox near the end of the cruise.

Cool! Thank you! I can always count on CrewNews for a quick answer! =)

  7. We've been on one HAL cruise and the end of September will be our second. Tell me about the Tiles please! Do you buy them in the gift shop? Or as you gain more stars in the Mariner club do you "get" them as a thank you "souvenir"? Being only One star sailors... Do we have a ways to go before we get the tiles?

PS LOVE the tray idea by the OP. Looks super handy and a fun way to display them and share in the memories with those you "serve". Beautiful job!

    Thank you,

    Sherri

  8. Coffee and non-bottled water are available 24/7 in the Lido Restaurant. Sodas are available from any bar during open hours (usually at least one will be open during the hours 8:00 AM until midnight).

You may bring as much soda and bottled water aboard as you wish in both your carry-on and checked luggage. Specialty coffees are extra if purchased in the Explorations Cafe. Here is the Explorations Cafe Menu:

Here is the Bar Menu that contains the price and availability of sodas

Can we use our $50 for $25 Soda cards to purchase the Specialty Coffees?

Thinking of bringing our 22 oz Starbucks Cold Cups for water. Not sure if it would be useful or more of a PIA to "deal with". Ha!

    Thanks!

  9. Hey Sherri,

It's actually an option under the spa tab under explore and plan. I've attached a picture of how it looks on the desktop site from my phone. I think it showed up for me when we were 90 days out. I'm 33 days out now and it's still there.

Thank you, that area is grayed out for me ... I am a bit premature! Ha!

Appreciate the screen shot and info!

  10. Are you more than 90 days out from your cruise? I think it can only be booked at the 90 day point.

Ah-ha, that is it! We are 189 days out! Just didn't want to forget! Thanks for the heads up!

  11. Slight correction to this, the spa passes are now $149 onboard. I prepaid the $119.

Looking on the NCL - under Explore and Plan and I do not see where you can pre-buy the Spa Pass? Am I not looking in the right place??

    Thanks!

  12.

Pretty much every non-veggie resto in Vancouver offers a few fish dishes - halibut & chips is a staple on just about every pub menu. For a decent pricepoint and great views, try Cactus Club Cafe at Coal Harbour or English Bay. All the 'raw' dishes (ceviche, tataki, carpaccio) are great and I just love the prawn ravioli dish - starter or main course size, I order it every time I eat in a CCC.

Thank you so much for this suggestion. Can't wait to try CCC when we are in the area in September!

  13. "Behind the Scenes Tour – we have always wanted to do this and are so glad we finally had the opportunity! If you hesitate due to the cost ($150 pp), we felt it was well worth the money! We had an hour tour of the engine control room and bridge on a port day because those areas can’t have “visitors” while at sea. Two hours the next day were spent seeing the laundry, galley, backstage of the theatre, waste management and storage of all kinds. Our tour was coordinated by Noel the On Board Marketing Manager but each section had a separate representative explaining their own areas. We were treated to a gift bag and a complimentary drink afterward. Our tour was just 3 of us so it was very easy to ask questions and hear the information being provided."

How early can you sign up for this tour? Can it be done online prior to the trip? Thanks!

  15. Thanks again for posting.

Those fish and chips looked amazing! Love the tempura style! Where did you get these? Will have to make a note to be sure and try!

The wine tasting looked fun! Is there a charge for the event? Do you have to sign up in advance??

Appreciate your taking the time to answer our questions!

Save travels back home! SOOOOO curious if your passport will turn up!!!
