Sorry to jump on OP's thread, but does anyone know if I can go to Guest Services during the cruise and pay for gratuities etc using a visa gift card?

As you say, I’m sure they’d have contacted you, but if you’d like me to relay a ‘thinking of you’ message to him, I’m sure we could make that happen. Thanks for the offer! He found WiFi today and has been in touch.

Thanks for posting about the medivac. As I posted earlier, my husband is on board with you. Right about now I'm wishing he had an internet package so I could check in, but I'm working on the assumption that Celebrity would have called me along with the helicopter!

Thanks for the live posting! My husband is on this cruise, also a BCC deal.

Over Christmas shows were at 7:30 and 9:30. They lasted about an hour. We usually arrived about 7 and were some of the first to arrive and the drink waiters would take care of us right away!

Thanks for all the great answers! Just a few more teaching days and then we're off!!

We leave in less than a week and I'm hoping for some help to the silly questions that keep popping up in my head.
1) Is there a place to get waffles on the Edge? I know on a previous Celebrity Cruise I didn't find them till near the end of the cruise and I want to be better prepared this time!
2) In looking at daily events that folks have posted I'm wondering about the timing of shows with the set meal times. We have late seating traditional dining because that works best for my folks who are taking us on this cruise to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. I see that shows seem to start at 7:30 and 9:30. Are the shows short enough that we can get to our dinner if we go to a 7:30 show?
I know I said 2, but also... We have the premium drink package, and my cruise goal is to expand my palate (we all need goals, right?) Any favorite drinks and/or bars would be great o hear about!
Thanks!

Thanks so much for the quick replies! This really helps!

We are about to book a cruise and since it has been a while and things change so fast I have a couple questions!
1) If you get the drinks package as a perk do you have to pay gratuities on it in addition to the $14/day charge?
2) What is the max price of included drinks?
3) If you want a drink that is more than the max price can you just pay the difference?
4) If you don't get the drinks package as a perk, must all adults in the room buy it?
Thanks for any advice!

We just got off the Majesty on the 1st. While the room was quite small there was plenty of storage space. I thought our waiters in the main dining room were some of the best we have had on a cruise. I loved that the ship was small enough that when I got turned around and went the wrong way it wasn't too far to fix my mistake!!

This may seem like a frivolous question, but here goes! Given that I wear sandals all summer in most circumstances will I be comfortable in them in Havana? I am not squeamish about getting my feet dirty, but if there's reason to wear closed shoes I will.
Thanks!

Thanks for all the quick answers!!

I tried to find the answers to these but failed so I'm hoping you all can help me out!
1) is there any advantage to pre-purchasing the bubbles package? I know there's not a discount, but do you pay tax if you buy ahead vs not paying tax on the ship?
2) I read something confusing about sales tax and the bubble program. I thought it said if you use the package while in a US port you will be charged sales tax to your account. Is this true?
3) Is there sill a cup associated with the program? Years ago when you signed up you got an insulated cup. Is that still a thing?

We couldn't print my husband's and all that happened was they had to check is passport and then check a list before we were allowed to proceed into the secure registration area. Maybe a 90 second delay?

We are just back from sailing QM2 NY to Southampton. We arrived Wednesday and flew that day Southampton to Dublin. We spent the night in Dublin and then flew home to DC yesterday. That route was dictated by the existence of very inexpensive flights ;)

Thanks, I have emailed and inquiry to West Quay Cars. I see there's some sort of a bus, I wonder how easy/difficult that is to manage.

In the end I'm keeping the same husband and the same rather shabby tux for him :) I'm hoping that the cleaner and the tailor make at least one of them look a little more polished!

Hello all!
Booking at the last minute has left me with less time than I like to prepare :) I'm trying to figure out the options for getting from the ship to the Southampton airport post voyage. We are willing to take a taxi, but I'm having trouble finding the cost, but would also be up for public transport if that's a reasonable option.
Thanks in advance for any advice!

We are flying back on WOW following the transatlantic. I'm trying to wrap my head around all the fees and bag requirements, but it is saving a TON on money and made the whole trip possible for us. I have friends who have said great things about WOW, similar to Southwest or Spirit in this country I think.

My husband and I will be sailing with you! We were able to book at the last minute and are really looking forward to the trip while our teen is in Europe with my parents!
So much to get ready in such a short time, the first order of business being getting new luggage and a better looking tux for my husband
Hope to see you on board!

Does seem like good news. The pictures I have seen look like it's mostly cosmetic (although impressive). Hopefully your cruise goes on as planned!!

We're looking at planning a last minute trip and are looking into going Chicago to Montreal. Would love to hear any thoughts. Wonder if people will cancel and we might be able so snatch up a good deal ;)

Thanks so much for the quick answers! I talked to a lovely person at Carnival, they got a message to DH and then the ship called me and put him on the line so I could, quickly, tell him in person. Slept much better knowing he knew!!

Nope, it was real fraud. Card used a number of times in a state we haven't been in. I'm on the line with carnival now.

Thanks for starting this @ColdCruise! We are on this sailing as well and also flying Play. I just bought a new rain jacket/windbreaker and and working on figuring out the correct layers to stay warm and dry.
