Well what stuff will we talk about today
Well if you must know, I tried to do a mock booking this morning and system is still not working for that cruise (meaning there is no way to add the Princess Plus stuff). Kind of surprised it’s taking this long. -

Seeing as the cruise is not until 2025 and you put it on hold why not just try booking again.
No doubt there will be price drops throughout the coming year.
Not sure what we’ll do but we also have started sailing with Celebrity and really enjoy those so might examine those itineraries from now- 1

Just wait for the the Plus pricing to be added...not a big deal, mistakes happen with technology. Not quite sure of what "appreciation" you are looking for. Princess' technology/IT problems are well documented; you just have to roll with them.
So let me give you a scenario. You lose your wallet or iPhone. Someone finds it and brings it back to you. Your options are:1) Say Thank You for that person making the effort to bring it to you
OR
2) Take it back and you don’t say thank you. All you can say is “someone else would have found it and returned it”
Sounds like you’re a 2) person

Fresh off last week’s announcement that our 2024-2025 Caribbean program goes on sale to the public Apr 19, I am thrilled to give you yet another announcement: Our 2024-2025 West Coast and Panama Canal sailings go on sale Apr 26 (Elite Captain’s Circle members can start booking Apr 25, an exclusive early booking benefit). With many of our newest ships in these regions, plus the MedallionClass® Experience offered on all voyages, this promises to be one of our most exciting seasons yet. Here are some of the highlights:
• Mexico, California Coast & Hawaii: Our West Coast program includes 7-to 11-day roundtrip voyages sailing to Mexico out of Los Angeles and San Francisco, where your clients will visit unforgettable locations such as Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlán, and Puerto Vallarta. There are our signature 16-day sailings to Hawaii that visit the four most popular islands on one cruise. And lastly, there are 3-11 day California Coast voyages that will take them to destinations such as San Francisco, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara, with departures from Los Angeles, Vancouver, Seattle, and San Francisco.
• Panama Canal: Princess offers two ways to see the epic Panama Canal, including new 12-day roundtrip sailings from Fort Lauderdale aboard Emerald Princess®, which include destinations like Costa Rica & the Caribbean, as well as Ocean-to-Ocean 15- to 23-day voyages between Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, and Vancouver.
Captain’s Circle Savings: Don’t forget, if your clients have sailed with Princess previously, they’re also eligible to receive extra savings of up to $100 per person when they book before July 31, 20231
Be careful not to be scammed by their system glitches. Just went through that for the Caribbean pricing released today -

screen shots?
Oh I already have screen shots of each website page that gave me the lower pricing that they are now reneging on. -

This is how they treat their Elite members, too. You will probably be blasted by the cheerleaders (welcome to the club) but thanks for pointing out this glitch.
Thanks. So long story short
1. I found a system flaw in their pricing and wanted to bring it to their attention
2. They acknowledge the flaw and said they will fix it (preventing a lot of future headaches)
3. I’m on with 3 different people in their 1-800 number for about 90 minutes in total and zero appreciation
Would anyone run their business and treat their customers with way?

So we went to book a cruise for Jan 2025 (prices just came out). I’m upset but will try to be brief
We clicked on Princess Plus (vs Standard) and the rate on the website increased (as expected). It said Princess Plus includes Beverages, Wi-Fi and Gratuities.
Then I went through the entire pricing on their website and gave me a grand total. So we put it on hold. But I couldn’t find anything about Princess Plus so I inquired on the chat and they said I didn’t have it
My suspicion is that the Princess pricing system has a flaw and I found it and wanted to bring it to their attention
Called the vacation planner 1-800 and she said I was correct about the pricing error. She said she would check with guest services to see what they could do. Long wait
She doesn’t get back in and Guest Services gets on without any background so I repeat everything. Then on hold until I get hung up on.
Then I call back and get a guy named Andy who says they cant do anything for me. Then he calls his supervisor and I’m on hold for 45 minutes. Then he gets on the call and says they cant do anything for me.
They did say they would fix the glitch
I feel totally unappreciated in that I found a glitch which I’m sure many others would have found and had the same result with a lot more customers who would have been angry I’m sure.
I would have assumed at a minimum they would have offered me OBC for me bringing this up but I didn’t even get a Thank You, even when I expressed this to the planner. He said it’s a glitch, end of story.
I feel like I’ve been scammed by Princess. This is how they treat their Platinum members? They advertised a Princess Plus package, I booked it (using their website), and then they pulled it back.
I’m still considering what are my options

I have only seen Princess stop at Mahogany Bay.
Thanks. I was hoping to be able to see a bit of Honduras. Mahogany Bay sounds alot like Grand Turk in terms of Turks and Cacoas

Kudos to you for recognizing that the Princess test is likely a false negative and not wanting to expose the ship to your illness .
Very confusing why Princess guest services isn’t also giving you kudos and chooses to turn a blind eye. Very disappointed

For the Canada cruises, Canada does not require any covid testing to enter the country. they got rid of the testing requirements a few months ago.
Apples and Oranges. In Canada, there are 11 people per square mile of land. On a cruise ship , space between people is much much much much less -
Covid has not gone away. It is spiking in many places now.
Well I will definitely not be cruising on Norwegian. Don’t want to sail around in a Petri dish

You can do whatever you want but in my opinion, every cabin has an assigned steward, you will likely need some kind of service like towels and trash emptying, so I think you will still need to tip the normal amount regardless.

We sailed on the SV on the Edge (Apex sister ship) in March 2020 and will again in March 2023 to Panama Canal.
we absolutely love it in terms of view and balcony space . Both times will be on 11th floor
Hint - ask your room steward for a lounger on the first day or you’ll only have 2 chairs (lots of room)- 3

It is all voluntary. It may require one of the CEOs to show some courage - not a virtue
I think the CEO’s are showing courage by keeping the pre cruise testing requirement.
Well done
PS - we are definitely masking up when flying in so no need to worry about us carrying it
-
We sailed Princess back in January at 36% capacity. It was glorious however we new that would never happen again and if we wanted to cruise again, it would be on a much fuller ship.
Unless we book one for the fall, our next cruise is in March 2023 on an 11 day Panama Canal cruise on the Edge and pretty sure it’ll be full

Hi
I went into my local Asda supermarket today, the wine isle was bursting, the spirit shelves were full.
And the beer & Lager aisle the boxes were piled high.
And yet on my April Silhouette cruise never had one can of Brits/Irish staples of Guinness or John Smiths bitter,,they never had any on the cruise after either.
But someone fancied a tot of bourbon,,,,,
On our cruise in January, they ran out of different premium liquors halfway through the cruise (that should never happen).I also don’t agree it’s a supply chain issue but one of cutbacks due to lower passenger counts

Since it has often been asked, here are the two different menus CLASSIC & PREMIUM.
I think as some stated above it depends what you usually drink. At the Martini Bar usually all drinks are made with Grey Goose or Ketel One. And I really wouldn't want to drink a Martini made with Smirnoff or Stolichnaya, maybe Tito's but yeah... $10 really makes the difference here.
What a farce !!Jack Daniels and Makers are not premium bourbons. May as well go with the Jim Beam

Please read the comments above as to what ships can and cannot do, including the fact that they can transfuse blood. And be sure to read comment 16, by a passenger who was on the ship.Just because a passenger stated this, doesn’t mean I should believe it

This just seems not believable. In the first case, Cruise shops are not hospitals and have the blood supply for a full transfusion. Hard to believe they would have the necessary personnel and equipment to carry out this kind of procedure .
Secondly, if I’m wrong about the above, you would think if they had the right personnel and equipment, they would have the right blood screening protocol to prevent bad blood from being tranfused.
I’m not buying this story

We had similar website issues on a previous cruise. DW’s updated ok and mine never seemed to take. Was just persistent until I was able to have it recognize my status (in fact ultimately it was something that I hadn’t done correctly on my end that was not intuitive)
Celebrity (and for that matter most cruise websites and apps ) suck and best advise is to ignore, keep at it and move on

please read Carnival's covid policies
no matter what you read on here
if you pay attention to this site you will watch the ship sail away from the pier, a lot of misinformation from people just trying to be helpful to try to help people who think they're too cool to read Carnival's site. read Carnival's site for yourself.
You really don’t get Cruise Critic do you.
I agree people should read the fine print but it’s the experiences and opinions that help the cruise experience overall. It’s the sharing of tricks and knacks that you can’t get off of some of these cruise sites
