  1. Same situation, emailed them all documents about 16 days ago. I did get a read receipt, but probably automated. I am currently on a 1 hr 45 min hold time with guest relations as we speak, I'm not sure they will ever pick up......I'll let you know if they do.
  2. Does anyone on the boards have experience with HAL in submitting forms for covid expenses off the ship? I have emailed them about a week ago (guest relations) expense forms that were given to us onboard by the Guest Relations Supervisor as well as receipts. Just wondering: 1. How long it took for reimbursement? 2. Did anyone ever contact you to discuss after submission of forms, and how long did that take? 3. Did you experience any problems with some of the expenses? Any insight would be appreciated
  3. Could not agree with this statement more. We were on from May 7th-June 6. Wife had to be quarantined the last week after volunteering to get tested and was positive. There were tons of people on the ship that were coughing extensively and no masks, we did wear masks for the most part, and we knew the risks going into it. My wife tested negative the first 3 times, but symptoms were very prevalent so they kept her in Quarantine, and then finally tested positive 4th test. You can tell that they don't want to come down on people for not wearing masks, and also don't encourage the testing of go out of their way to test, I tested the day my wife first started showing symptoms, but not again until the day before leaving the ship, so that means they let me do whatever I wanted for 3 full days after my wife tested positive, even after I called the day she tested positive to see if they wanted to test me, they said no. This hands off approach is probably the best for their bottom line, even if it makes some upset. Given the fact their balance sheet is probably in the toilet right now.
  4. What a bunch of 12 year Olds. Wear a mask, don't wear a mask. Not going to bother me either way or affect my vacation if I see someone not wearing one. Bottom line is as soon as I step on to that Plane, I know and accept that there is a risk that I'm going to catch something at any point in my vacation, and its going to be my fault, not the person who isnt wearing a mask, or the person who is wearing a mask, its my fault, mine and mine only. If you don't like that risk stay home. Everybody has the answers for whatever side you are on, they also have all the links to the best studies for both sides of the argument, and no one on here is changing anyone else's mind. Cry Cry Cry.
  5. They changed protocol, wife and I were tested early this morning, we received a letter very early this morning 2am stating that there have been a lot of positive tests and a lot of asymptomatic people on board? Not sure where they are getting this info, maybe a spouse tests positive and the other is also positive with no symptoms, but they have changed course and now masks are required at all times unless eating or drinking. Going with the flow, Norway is going to be excellent. Looks like mid 50s and rain wherever we go, we are ready for it.
  6. Just to add to this post. They have also informed me that there is no need to test again for the second leg of our back to back, and unlike Alaska, as of now they will be testing us on the ship the day before we disembark for U.S.
  7. I'm on the Rotterdam right now, doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to mask wearing. People are wearing them, people are not. I have yet to see it actually enforced upon someone not wearing a mask. I just stopped caring altogether, we have only been on 1 ship sponsored excursion to Berlin, for fear of postponents on the train back from Berlin, I would say it was 50% wearing a mask on the bus for 3 hours, then 10% wearing 1 on the way back. If there are covid concerns on the ship, I am unaware of them. We will be on for another 20 days through Norway, if we get stuck so be it. We have been through tons of museums, restaurants, public indoor spaces and have not seen any mask wearing in Berlin and Stockholm. I could be ground Zero for the virus, I have no idea, I could be a walking, talking, sneezing, asymptomatic time bomb, or maybe my wife is, and no one is the wiser. Again, I'm through caring. If you are going to be traveling and this is something you are worried about, I will tell you, you won't be able to avoid it, it will find you, no matter the precautions.
