We love the Prinsendam and are booked for their final cruise in June 2019, UK and then Norway. We will miss the Elegant Explorer.

Having a good wine reduction with duck compliments the meat, Port, Merlot and with a berry infusion. Its not sweet but almost like a rich herbal emulation.

 

Smoked duck sausage is worth trying

The special Sel Del Mar night in the Pinnacle on Holland America featured a French duck "stew" that my wife loved and she normally isn't a fan of duck, no heavy sauces. Very tasty.

The Neptune class rooms on the Prinsendam seem to be much larger than other ships in the fleet. Luckily we didn't have to pay full price, discount upgrade

It has become much more casual. I wore a blazer and button down shirt but never a tie. There were also tuxedos and polo shirts.

We love Prinsendam and are booked on one of her final cruises. We have also for the first time booked a cruise on Viking. Slightly larger ship 930 vs. 830 for the HAL ship. Trying out a new line.

Seems like everyone should have time to rebook. We just added a new cruise for June 2019.

Try the Asian restaurant if you have the chance. Best Asian restaurant I have ever eaten at.

I really miss having a nice cigar on my verandah. Last cruise I did have a couple cigars on the Lido deck outside area. Good place to pick up on scuttlebutt because the crew smokes there too.

We just did 28 days on the Prinsendam and thoroughly enjoyed it. That was our fourth cruise on the Elegant Explorer to very cool stops like the Kiel and Antwerp. We will miss her.

I read yesterday that HA has sold the Prinsendam to a German cruise line. I will miss the old smaller ship. Luckily we just had a great trip on her around the British Isles. I believe the last cruise will be June 2019.
