So glad that I just came across this thread.  Lawson’s might just be what we need, since we are looking for a tour that goes at the slower speed of my 81 year old parents.

I'm in the same situation....75 yr old mom with bilateral knee replacements really wants to see the Mayan ruins.  So really want to make it happen.

You may a bring a guest to the party. I have asked at guest services in the past when I made plat before my husband.  I wouldn't bring other members of your group.

Like she said......You can definitely bring your spouse without any concern.  My DH made Platinum Before I did and we checked with guest services on each cruise before the party and "with absolutely no strong arming" they all smiled and said of course your spouse can attend with you.  So go and have fun!!

  3. I agree that you'll need to pay since it is taking up a potential diver spot but I would sure get out of having to pay for the gear if I could.  Perhaps contacting oasis and explaining that you will be coming but not diving might work.  but its hard when they negotiate it this way with the operators.  Lots of times I've had to pay a full price that included gear even though I am bringing all my own gear.

Might be worth emailing the shore excursion department and asking them (you can't call them which is a pain) about a rate for not needing gear.  Worst that will happen is that you still have to pay the full rate.

    Good luck...sorry you can't dive :(

  4. The times when people don't understand how to do this. Without internet most people are lost.

Or they are like we are..... a farm at home with 9 animals and elderly parents in different states.

The WiFi is a simple way to send messages back and forth to check on everyone and everything . Which goes a long way to allowing me to relax on vacation.

So the broad brush is not always correct.

  5. Hello- I looking for any advise on dive shops in St Lucia.

    Thanks in advance

When we went about three years ago with Carnival we actually dove with their provider since I thought Scuba Steve's cancellation policy was annoying since they di not offer a refund if you didn't make the port.

It was a great descision. We dove Superman's flight and a spot near there at the base of the Pitons and had a group of only 6. The group was outstanding to dive with and I still remember Papa Smurf's smile to this day!

  6. This is a stretch to ask but I will cuz you just never know....

We are actually looking at this cruise for Dec . We are both divers and would be looking to dive in all the ports.

I know Nassau will work . And we will just enjoy HMC. And Amber Cove is early arrival so we should be good there,

But Grand Turk is 11-7....I worry about the late arrival.

By any far chance did you notice or talk to any individuals that were diving in this port?

I know it's a long shot but figured it never hurts to ask.

    Thanks for the review!

  7. We also went with Aqua Scuba. The boat was a bit questionable but serviceable.

The boat for the other two Carnival ships was a bit nicer. The guys were great and I appreciate that they handled the less experienced divers in a separate group from the more experienced. We had 45-55 min dives with lots of life. The lobsters were the most fun that day...they were just everywhere. But also lots of eels...even saw a Golden Moray. Too cool.

They are not fancy...But we would definitely dive with them again.
