  1. Thank you for your reply - it is most helpful. I very much appreciate you taking the time to research and pass on the information you received. I did not think to call the Old Town Trolley office in Key West (duh!). I will be very relieved to bypass the chaos of the shuttles from ***** to MS.

You are very welcome, and I also enjoy research and gaining knowledge.

  2. Old Town

I found this for you on the web site.

KEY WEST SHORE EXCURSIONS FOR CRUISE SHIP GUESTS

    Welcome to Key West

Key West is a beautifully historic town filled with impressive attractions and sites. Maximize your time for sightseeing by taking Key West shore excursions from Old Town Trolley. Whether you take the tour purchased from your cruise excursions desk, or take the tour with on-and-off privileges purchased from Old Town Trolley directly, you will have time to shop, visit attractions, and find your way to some of our most famous landmarks.

TOUR OPTION 1: PURCHASE FROM YOUR SHORE EXCURSIONS DESK

Our tours are designed to maximize your time here in Key West. You’ll receive an overview of the historic district, covering 100 points of interest including the Ernest Hemingway House and Museum, the Audubon House, world famous Duval Street, the Southernmost Point in the continental US, the neighborhoods of Old Town, one of the largest historical districts in the US, the Key West Bight, West Martello Fort, and tropical flowers and plants. The tour ends in Mallory Square.

When using an excursion through the ship, the ship guarantees that it will wait until the excursion returns.

    THE NAVY MOLE

The Navy Mole requires transportation to get into town. You will be met on the pier by trolleys and given shuttle service into town. There is no cost to this service. It is provided by the city of Key West. You will be transported to Mallory Square (in front of the Sponge Market). Walking is not an option, due to Homeland Security regulations. The Navy is still active on this pier.

I also called (very nice lady) and asked them about pick-up. They told me you will be picked up at the ship for your tour, but you will be dropped off at Mallory Square after the tour, and you need to get the shuttle back to Outer Mole. At least that is todays story, if you get my drift. I understand being dropped off at Mallory, due to I believe they will do drop off and pick-up at stops on the tours, and not everyone has to go to the outer mole to return to the ship.

If you look at my video, in the beginning you will see all the Trolly's and Trains waiting to take passengers back to the outer mole in Mallory Square, as well as the ones doing tours. Front St video

    Hope this helps.

  3. Our ship will dock at the Outer Mole. If I book a trolley excursion through the ship, for a specific time, is it reasonable to think that the excursion will start from the ***** directly on the trolley for the excursion, with no need to navigate the circus of taking a shuttle from the ***** to MS?

Are you talking the Orange Trolly or The Conch Train? Some people call them both the trolly tour.

  4. Pjk..you are correct...it is BYPOB and snacks, and they provide the ice & chest to keep drinks cold. I would suggest you take only plastic glasses that do not break. We did the sunset cruise, and they also offer day time tours. Here is the web site.. Cruising' Tikis

They also have a page with pics and videos. Gallery

  5. As stated, the beaches are not that great, and Simonton and Fort Zachery are the closest to the piers.

I did a video to show the beaches in relation to the piers. Hope it helps.

  6. We'll stop at KW on a short cruise Oct 29. After researching the trollies and looking into the ship excursions we decided to just stroll up and down Duval St. Maybe get a look at the Hemingway or Truman houses, shop a little and grab a bite. The area just isn't that big.

Looks like Infinity will dock at the Outer Mole, so you will trolly to Mallory Square. Hemingway House is up Whitehead, past Mile 0. Make sure to stop at Green Parrot to check it out, then only a couple of blocks till you are there. Here are two videos that will show you the way.

  7. We are visiting Key West for the first time in October. We are doing a back to back on the Paradise so will be there on both cruises and I think that the Trolly will be a nice way to get an overview, so plan on checking it out on our first visit. Thanks for all the feedback!

    Since you posted no dates....

Make sure you check with the trolly to make sure of schedule as they do not run the last Saturday of October because of Fantasy Fest from Oct. 19 to 28.

    Have a good time.

  8. The Key West calendar for December 12 shows: Infinity (B) 0700-1700...Pier B

Azamara Journey (*****) 0800-1800...Outer Mole or Navy Pier

I posted a video early in this thread to show you B pier behind Margaritaville.

  9. We will be arriving in the Key West on 8/30 on the Majesty of the Seas. The ship is there from 1-7PM. We would love to get out on the water. Catamaran/Snorkel/Sail etc...

I looked at the Key West ship Calendar and it says you will dock at Pier B. Pjk is correct that the Hyatt at Front St and Simonton St is about a 10 minute walk.

that will show you the way. Have a good trip!!
  10. Hello.. I'm just trying to verify that Pier B (Celebrity Infinity) Dec 12, 2018 will dock within walking dustdistanc of the Pier House or Ocean Key Resorts?

Yes when you walk from Pier B behind Margaritaville, you will go down a ramp to Mallory Square, and Ocean Key Resort will be right in front of you. Main entrance is on the other side on Duval Street and Pier House is Across the street from there.

Here is a link to a video of the walk from

  11. Thanks. This has been a great thread to read through. We decided a number of weeks ago that instead of staying in Miami for two nights before our cruise that we would try the Florida Keys. We are staying at the Hampton Inn in Key Largo. Should arrive Thursday evening around 7 p.m. in Key Largo and then the next day plan to start early and drive down to Key West, explore for 3-4 hours and then drive back and make stops along the way like Robbie's and have dinner in Key Largo that night (probably Key Largo Conch House). Leaving Key Largo for Miami early that next Saturday morning.

We have stayed at the Hampton Inn Key Largo a couple of times, and loved it. Just up the North side of the highway is

The Fish House and we love their dinners. Have a great time!

    View behind Hampton Inn.

  12. I am not a rum drinker, but I went to Key West Legal Rum to get the (adult) kids a present to take home. They have several different flavors that you can taste and buy, and I do not recall the price as they were all different. They also have special runs that are in one of a kind hand-made bottles that are very unique. It is worth a visit if you like rum.

Keep in mind, Key West Legal Rum is on Simonton St. just off Front St, and 3/4 of a block is Papa Pilar Rum at Greene St. so they are close together that you could visit both.

  13. There are three piers in Key West that the ships dock at. Mallory is at Mallory square, B Pier is located behind Margaritaville KeY West Resort, video

, and Outer Mole which is the Navy pier closest to Fort Zachery. The access to that pier is run the Truman Annex very close to the entrance to Fort Zachery Taylor. There is an ID check area there where everyone on the shuttle is checked before going back to the ship. Access to the ship is by shuttle only, no walking. I do have a video that shows how to get to the check point here.

    Hope this helps.

  14. Keep in mind, there is the Key West Trolly that boards on Wall Street, and the Conch Train the boards on Duval and Front Street and are only about 1 block apart. Malloy is the closest pier, B pier is not to much farther away, and if you dock at the Outer Marker your shuttle will drop you off at Mallory Square and both are very close to that drop-off. Both also sell tickets on line at a discount. Have fun!

  15. Where will you be docked? If its the Outer Mole, I would doubt it.

The Outer Mole is the Navy pier, so very unlikely there. Not sure about B pier in front of Margaritaville, and at Mallory Pier between the pavilion and Ocean Key Resort I found wifi there, but it was slow and was off and on at times.

  16. We leave in a week; can you ask for CUC's in small demoninations; for the bathrooms etc? Also, if reading correctly, you must have smaller denomination bills, in perfect condition to exchange for CUC's? Thank you!

The wife did the exchange, and they gave her a selection of different coins and bills so we had change. We did not ask about anything as far as something small.

Not saying perfect bills at all...just make sure nothing is written on them. You know how people will write a name, or say they put $50 or $100 when counting for bank deposit. We were told no markings on a bill what so ever bay the bank.

    Hope that explains it.

  17. Thats our plan -- we have been booked with "Elvis"

    Have read good things

Wondering if I need to ask Blexie about help - tour/bar crawl with someone that night or just ask when we are there. We'd like to get dinner ashore and then go to enjoy some jazz/music but NOT in a touristy "show"

You might email Blexie and ask about it, but keep in mind he does not always get to mail quickly. I am sure he could help you find someone. Are you stopping inn Key West on the way back??
