  1. sorry but not sure what you mean?
  2. In this day and age of accomodating everyone's peccadilloes, as mentioned you have to provide your ship card to get any type of drink on a package so why they insist on the 'twofer' concept as opposed to individual requirements I just don't get. 😞
  3. Thanks everyone. We can't buy one non-alcoholic package and one alcoholic package either can we? Just seems very unfair that if you are a non drinker & drinker in the one cabin there isn't a way to solve the conundrum. What if one person is sober? Just don't understand the requirement for both people in the cabin to have the same package when you still have to present your card for drinks anyway when you go to the bar.
  4. If two people in the same cabin book a non alcoholic drinks package, if one of them likes a glass of wine with dinner is there any discount as with drinks above $13.50 or bottles of wine being discounted on the alcohol package? Many thanks.
  5. Not suggesting for a second anyone is interested in us, more the QG food, and as mentioned this is only coming from a previous bad experience so please as a fellow Aussie recognise an attempt at light hearted humour. 🙂
  6. Could work out perfectly then 🙂
  7. Let's all pray to the Cunard gods it never gets to that but having seen thongs/flip flops and shorts in QG I think your decade estimate maybe a bit hopeful unfortunately. So I fear Vegas (attitudes) could be closer than you might think, hence our reticence for the fishbowl seating.
  8. Thanks Host Hattie. Very helpful. Definitely don't want a window seat based on these pics. Looks like a Vegas restaurant where people can lean over and ask what you're "eatin'? ". Realise they can't do this so please don't take me literally. 🙂 However it did happen to us in Vegas where a "lovely" couple leaned over our table adjoining an open walkway and said "Hey that looks good....can we try a piece?"......soooooo not real keen to repeat that sort of experience with someone possibly knocking on the window and playing charades with us to find out what we are eating. Find this set-up particularly odd. Almost like, "let's put the QG people on display so you lower classes can see how they dine in their natural habitat" which is either very Richard Attenborough or I have watched Titanic too many times!!! 🙂
  9. So no view at all from QG on QM2 as with QE? Would definitely prefer to be on the "inner" of the room then as have no desire to feel like an animal in the zoo during feeding time. 🙂
  10. Let alone an "eraser/rubber/condom" confusion........ 😉
  11. Hello Cunard experts. Looking forward to our upcoming TA in QG on QM2. Having recently sailed in QG on QE we had a wonderful window table looking out on to the water. Our understanding is that window table on QM2 in QG overlooks the promenade deck. As we have no desire to be goldfish in the bowl for passers by, what area of QG would you recommend as being the most "intimate" for a table of 2? Or have we misunderstood the layout/set-up? Thanks in advance for any recommendations.
  12. Watching updates with baited breath 😉 Thanks everyone for their input.
  13. I am guilty of this with both eyeglasses and sunglasses as I am blind without them......hope that is ok too 😉
  14. Go to Temu they have plenty of options
  15. Also make sure to go and watch the ballroom dancers in the Queens Room for great people watching both of the beautiful dancers but also those happily watching the dancers.
  16. People watching in QG on QE was wonderful. Don't forget, the Guest lecturers and their partners are in QG.....the entertainment/people watching factor of one the partners was unbelievable. 😉 You won't miss out on this aspect.
  17. As they say....."uh oh you're in trouble". Hard to go back when you have experienced QG. 🙂 The butler is there to assist you on your voyage. You can go as far as packing & unpacking though it seems that is the exception not the rule for most. Extra pillows & towels, theatre bookings, mini bar stocking or laundry services are all far more common. More personally it could be arranging for a clothing item to be mended, some sea sickness remedies or even a tampon should a lady find herself caught out. Ordering off menu is a big thing. It is a little bit like Willy Wonka meets a restaurant. If you can imagine it (and they have the ingredients) with notice they can probably accomodate your request. Think Peking Duck or Bombe Alaska, an Indian thali meal or table side delights such as Beef Welligton & Crepe Suzette. Most of all it is the service. The constant table in the QG means you have regular MDs, waiters & sommeliers throughout your voyage. They get to know your likes and dislikes very quickly. If something is wrong, don't say everything is ok just to be polite. Tell your MD (politely of course) if there is a problem and most of the time they can fix or resolve it satisfactorily. The genuine care and concern in your comfort & satisfaction regardless of how odd the request maybe is incredible. They could not do more to try and make your time on board as good as it can be. Enjoy and remember the memories for evermore as the cost will soon be forgotten. 🙂
  18. Well that we most certainly have in common!!!! 🙂
  19. Sorry if my JOKE was overly emphatic. 🙂 I should have said.... at our table (or in our home) ‘UHT should never be served…Fresh milk or nothing.’ As a traditional tea lover, it is no different to the argument of milk first or last.
  20. Exlonderer, it may seem like I am picking on you tonight (which I am not meaning too) but I do not agree. Some people have not been blessed with children or grandchildren and it maybe a factor in why they choose a non family geared line such as Cunard. For some of the crew as you suggest, it could make missing their kids even worse.
  21. Never suggested it shouldn't be served. Just that we would (& most tea drinkers) reject UHT if offered.
  22. Not suggesting depriving anyone for goodness sake. UHT reacts badly with tea but if anyone enjoys.....go for it. Just not happening in our household (or most tea traditionalists) anytime soon. We would prefer to go without.
  23. My SO can tell the difference at 10 paces. UHT should never be served particularly with tea. Fresh milk or nothing. 🙂
  24. Victoria2, you missed my point. You don't see this sort of guest on Cunard as it does't suit their requirements which is great. No one is trying to decide who travels on Cunard. It is up to the individual to decide if it is a cruise line that suits their needs. However those that think Cunard is wonderful also shouldn't have their holiday diminished by people that simply don't want to measure up or comply with said guidelines.
