Yes, thanks @Cruisefan001 I remember you pointing this before. I was responding to @SAmome 's question, since no one else had at the time I read it. It must be nice to have the brochure, is that on RC's site for download?

@SAmome May is what is advertised in the tv commercials as when park will be open, at least in my south eastern area of the states.

Ummm no. We are going to be there on March 19. They are not letting ships there from the 10 - 13 march.
How did you find this out? Just curious. Still no e-mail. Emails about buying excursions and packages, but no - hey, by the way- no private island for you. 🤣😋 Just curious if I missed a memo? Best of luck to future sailings to Coco Cay. I have my fingers (& toes) crossed for you!

I'm certainly no marketing genius but, if it were me, I would have advertised the opening date as May 2020. Told the construction company the completion date needed to be Jan 1 2019. Then everyone would be elated with an early opening date. I would never have a completion date that I was not 110% sure was going to be obtainable!
Amen! I agree and appreciate hearing tips from experienced cruisers. You live, you learn. @cruznwithmom found out by logging onto planner - I was going to check the price for cabana on Coco Cay 😕. Contacted RC who confirmed the change. The app also updated shortly after I saw the change from desktop site. Still, no email. I may be a bit peeved that RC hasn't contacted us yet. I mean really, I have had AMAZING customer service thus far. I just doubt that all the Mariner's passengers for my cruise are aware yet if notification hasn't been sent out via email. Is it normal for RC to wait so long to notify passengers of changes? -> goes to look for that post 😂

And, I'd like to reiterate that we were at least still GOING to Coco Cay. Pier complete or not, we are not going at all now- and RC is yet to officially address this change to the sum odd 3,000 passengers who will cruise on the Mariner in 7 days. Just makes me, a 1st timer, skeptical and reduces my trust in the brand. I truly hope my opinions change- I really am a positive thinker and hope to be able to post nothing but positivity on this site at the conclusion of our cruise.

You are correct, but that is not what RC had posted at my time of booking, 9 months ago. They have since updated their estimates.

They've been talking completion in May (or even June) for some time now...
That's not what was posted on Royal Caribbean Blog in summer 2018. I wish I would have taken a screen shot. I knew that RC Blog was not RC itself, but after following their blog and seeing review info consistent with what they shared, I trusted their info and took a chance- now I know better. I was excited to find Grand Bahama Island has some interesting things to offer, they are just far from port and from what I've read so far it clearly is not a comperable to Coco Cay. I just think it is crazy that RC still has not sent out official change of itinerary notice. We are exactly 7 days out now. I am an optimistic person and will make the best of any situation- but anyone who reads these posts knows that the majority of invested (committed) cruisers can be more pesimistic, or as hubbs likes to call himself- a "realist" (ha).

We were disappointed when we go the email. We picked this trip because we expected to be able to dock at the pier.
Sharin in your disappointment. Was super excited to be a part of something fresh & new. Our cruise sails on March 11th and we are now not even going to Coco Cay. Itinerary change was noticed almost 24 hours ago, still no official email from RC. Contacted RC yesterday and they confirmed the change was correct and that I should get an email in a few days. I started to say, we sail in a few days! First cruise and already facing disappointment. I sure hope & pray that things work out for the best. I keep searching for the positives of now having to pay to get to a beach vs being able to walk or even tender to a private island.

@gerig logged into cruise planner via the RC website. The RC app has since updated to say the same as well. @onthewater51 where may I find your review? I am disappointed for sure. Hours ago I was debating between splurging for a cabana or not and now I dont even know if we will have a beach chair to sit on. Still no email from RC. I plan to call soon. I should also share, that last week I noticed that the app said day 3 was at sea, but then our details said we would arrive to coco cay at 7:30 am for day 3. (Coco Cay was originally scheduled for day 2) but I figured it was just a technical error since I read others posts about IT issues with the app. I also started logging directly on to RC's site after that.

Looks like our sailing on Mariner for 3/11 will skip Coco Cay as well. Going to Grand Bahama Island instead, bummer. I noticed this change at 8 a.m. this morning via the cruise planner. Still no email from RC. I will be patient and wait. Just thought I would share.

Hi friends! I have gone back between the cheapest guaranteed shade option (loungers w/half covers) to the highest option (deluxe cabana). From what I gather from others feedback is that for a party of 6, the deluxe cabana is a good deal. Sailing to CoCo Cay soon and just can't see paying an addtl $294 for our family of 4 though- it's our first cruise, still dealing with sticker shock. My question is, should I check to see if price drops when I am on board or is this price consistent with those who have purchased the deluxe cabana recently? This is the cabana that comes with the snorkel gear & a private buffet lunch. Thank you for your kind comments in advance! This site, and it's members, really are a treasure!

First timer here. Can anyone tell me how Bahamas Day Pass and Resort for a Day work? Like where do you pick up passes? Do you grab your own taxi and go to their office location? Cruise line excursion is almost double what prices are listed elsewhere for a family of four. Also, not cruising until March 2019, should I wait closer to sail date to purchase passes? Will cruise line lower the price for the excursion the closer we get to the date? Lastly, has anyone booked thru CS lately? Is it still a sure bet to be able to get access to Atlantis as a guest of CS? I remember reading a few nightmarish posts when I researched Atlantis vs CS for a hotel stay about guests of CS unable to get access to park bc Atlantis hotel was at capacity - apparently they were turned away and told to return the next day- but as cruise passengers, there is no next day. Thanks in advance!
