Carnival is no cheaper than any other cruise line that uses tips as the model to pay certain workers.

True, they all are terrible like that. In my personal opinion, they should rename it to service fees, make it where it can't be removed and is always paid by all guests.

  2. I had assumed everyone would understand what I mean when I said carnival is cheap. Seeing the quotes, that doesn't appear to be the case.

    So in simpler terms
I leave whatever fee's and auto tip are on there. I don't look at those as a tip for the hard workers, they don't get removed.

I tip when on the ship, in cash.

  3. Since carnival's cheap method of paying those that work hard on the ship for some reason is labeled as a Tip (or auto-gratuity) I consider those just cost of the item/cruise and not a tip.

Then tip as I would normally based on service.

    So yes, technically

  4. 2 less restaurants, 400 more people (guessing, about 100 more cabins)

I'd say they figure the current capacity can be expanded without any problems in bookings.

Maybe it's by design to keep the current "free" dining options in place, but get more via bookings. Or it's a double dip, more people, and more paid dining for improved margins

  5. Logic would say it should have been

    Green - Yellow - Orange - Red
But nope, Green - Orange - Yellow - Red

Either a real issue - ok that part I can at least understand
But it could have been unrelated post cruise - getting sketchy here
OR an email was late - /sigh

And some wonder why nobody wants to listen to them

  6. Yes, the rooms where redone, new carpet added, fresh coat of paint, that's about all I can remember. They didn't add the USB ports to the lamps. They also removed the jacuzzi tubs from the suites and put in a regular tub. The arcade was moved and various other changes here and there.

We sailed on the Pride in Feb 2020, pre-rona

  7. Closed loop cruise requirements
    https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-74?language=en_US

U.S. citizens on closed-loop cruises will be able to enter or depart the country with proof of citizenship, such as an Enhanced Driver's License (EDL), a government-issued birth certificate (issued by the Vital Records Department in the state where he or she was born) or passport, and if 16 or older, a government issued driver's license, picture ID, denoting photo, name and date of birth.
