I have had a few birthdays onboard, yes the cake is a tradition as happens on several lines, but Huntingdon1701 has been made feel very special with the decorations, something I have never enjoyed.  DH did once.  It is a nice touch, maybe I will get both cake and decorations at some future time

During our first cruise on Quest many years ago we celebrated our anniversary. I had left our anniversary cards on the table and on returning later not only the room was decorated but the bed was strewn with rose petals and other small touches. I went to thank Ravin and found him hiding outside waiting to see our reaction.

  2. The website and travel advisory do indeed state that Pursuit voyages are cancelled until January 2022, however the list of cancelled cruises does not include those dated Nov 6 and Nov 21 and there are no lift and shift options available for these specific cruises. Clearly there is conflicting information on the website and travel advisory.

I assume Pursuit itineraries are being rearranged.

But the website and travel advisory clearly says Pursuit voyages are cancelled until January 2022 so I can’t understand why would a single cruise be going in November?  I am sorry it’s more likely to be a website error and an agent who takes the basic line I can see it on my screen (which also has an error) so it’s going and this is an easy quick call.
Hope you get clarity soon and sorry if as seems likely your plans are messed up

It is my understanding that all three ships will be heading to dry dock in Cadiz soon. Quest first at the end of this month and Journey and Pursuit at the beginning of August. The dock space is booked. Of course what happens from there with the delayed starts for Journey and Pursuit, not sure.

The issue is the longer Azamara delay in publishing the new itineraries for Pursuit and Journey the relatively short time they have to sell them.

A quick look at the new 5 Quest Greece sailings shows a very poor uptake across all cabin types. I don't think they will have any trouble with social distancing as there will be very few people on board.

The price point for these cruises was set very high. Approx 330 pounds pppn for CC and 700 pppn for CW. Really? These cruises should have been discounted to reflect the fact that they are basically test cruises.

I hope when they release the new Pursuit and Journey itineraries in July they will have more reasonable pricing.

The nov 6 goes to Israel and Turkey as well, so why is it not cancelled? It makes no sense to start up a ship out of cold storage for two sailings!  The press release only mentions new itineraries are forthcoming for Quest and Journey- no mention of new itineraries for Pursuit. Anyone have any logical explanation?

I believe this sailing will be changed to exclude Turkey and Israel. The ship will NOT be doing two sailings. I think my interpretation is sound, please read it all. Azamara will introduce new itineraries they just are not in a position to reveal when that will be. Do you really think they are preparing the ship to sail for it to remain tied up in Glasgow?

I got a phone call from my agent saying all my cruises were canceled.
she called. About 11 am. I  rarely get emails from AZ.. she said all.

if Nov was going she did not mention it.as I could of done them and sailed to states. Stayed on or switch ships. Also from readings no mention anywhere that Pursuit was sailing before Jan.  Also weeks ago I looked to get in Quest in Carribbean and no suites,

when the new cruises come out I will look at Caribbean but they get old fast.

The initial Pursuit sailings in September and October included a charter, and then ports in Turkey and Israel. Due to Covid the ship could not go to South Africa in late 2021 or early 2022. Perhaps it was easier for Azamara just to cancel all these cruises.

The information I received directly from Azamara clearly indicates that the two cruises in November on 6 and 21 are sailing.

I assume they will do new itineraries in the Mediterranean from September and retain the already published November sailings. I also think there will be new itineraries for Pursuit for winter 2021 and early spring 2022. Lets hope they will be published later in July.

Photos published on Twitter show Pursuits preparations for return to sailing. I doubt this would be happening if the ship is not to sail this autumn.

Not in my life. All my cruises were canceled.

taking the money and moving it to future AZ cruises in 2022.

Have you had the cruises on November 6 and November 21 cancelled? According to the information yesterday they are still sailing.

I assume Pursuit will do a transatlantic to America from Lisbon on November 30.

On the train to Southampton. Journey is there today as well but I’m getting on the other cruise ship in Southampton today! I will wave to Journey as we sail first!

Hope you brought your formal wear. Wonder what kind of tonic is sold on this ship?

I have never come across a situation where the top cruiser wasn't Discoverer Plus or Platinum level.  Its no big deal in my view how they calculate it.

I was on a cruise where the top cruiser was a level below me (ie had less points but more cruises due to taking several short cruises). I rarely take a cruise shorter than 10 nights and almost always in suites.

Do you not think that frequent Azamara cruisers, who have probably spent hundreds of thousands of pounds with them over the years.,,,and also possibly kept Azamara afloat in it's early years deserve some benefits for their loyalty? Is it good business sense to treat them the same as someone booking their first and possibly their only Azamara cruise? I don't think so.

Speaking personally, sometimes I received an upgrade under the old system by registering early and paying the $398 and sometimes not. It was pleasant to have but did not worry me overmuch. I think the new bidding system is horrible, money grubbing and unworthy of a classy cruise line. My opinion only.

Your comments re Twitter and LCV Platinum members seem a little green eyed to me. Why shouldn't someone enjoy the benefits of their Platinum status? They surely spent a lot of money to acquire it!

I am one of those frequent Azamara cruisers - being in the upper portion of Discoverer Plus having sailed with Azamara over the past 10 years. I travel mainly in suites and I suppose have given a considerable amount of money to the company. Personally I do not believe my spending with Azamara is of much relevance - I am only one guest. So, no I do not believe that a frequent cruiser has a greater right to an upgrade than someone else.

I think you missed the point regarding the Twitter photo, I merely pointed out that Azamara looks after its top tier members.

  10. I totally disagree with the comments regarding the upgrade bidding process made by some LCV Platinium members. In my opinion the new process is a fairer, objective procedure enabled by an IT solution which cannot be influenced by any guest.

I ask a rhetorical question to those Platinium posters who are complaining - how many upgrades have you received over the years? I think Azamara has looked after you very well and still are as I notice on twitter recently how some LCV Platinium members were enjoying the benefits of the top tier status (including some of those complaining here).

    AZists,

Just put in the minimum bid for an upgrade on our cruise in April as suggested by Bonnie, but NOWHERE in the request did the form ask about my LCV status. Did I miss something? How will the mythical algorithm for LCV status be applied if the computer doesn’t even ask for it?

Before I wasn’t expecting an upgrade but could dream... just like when we buy a lottery ticket... and someone with more status and was more deserving would get it, like the person who has spent $330K sailing, but now it is open to everyone; I can’t image that a LCV weak bid will win against a STRONG bid! That’s not how profits are made!  Perhaps the fact that Upgrade Program is not mentioned on the Benefits list when I checked today reflects how difficult it will be to spin the revised version of a bidding war as a LCV Benefit. Corporate copywriters please give us a good laugh!  “Loyalty has it rewards...”

    Turangi!

Azamara know your loyalty status from your booked cruise that you just bid for an upgrade on.

    • Thanks 1
  12. Did you email Sandra, our new LCV Ambassador?

LCV Ambassador Sandra will be your main LCV point of contact for loyalty-related inquiries. Her email is: LCVAmbassador@LeClubVoyage.com.

For general membership questions, please continue to email the Le Club Voyage Desk at: LeClubVoyage@Azamara.com.

Thank you Bonnie I did not know Sandra's email so sent the email to the general LCV email.

  13. I have a b2b reservation on Pursuit in October 2018 in a CC suite. The booking was made in January 2018 and I submitted an upgrade form on the same day ticking the box for the b2b sailing and providing the requested information for the second cruise. I contacted LCV and they informed me that they had no record for the second cruise. I have the receipt for the form submission.

Is it possible for a manager at LCV to look into this for me, the reply to my email was not signed by Sandra but by one of the team.

  14. I have sailed many times with Azamara during the last 10 years. Last night the Azamazing evening for Pursuit's "Wonders of Iceland" voyage was a concert by Brian Kennedy, held in St Annes Cathedral Belfast.

In my role as a volunteer steward at St Annes I was very proud to welcome Captain Carl and the guests of Azamara Pursuit to our wonderful Cathedral and the beautiful city of Belfast.

This extraordinary set of circumstances (the Pursuit refit in Belfast, the Azamazing evening and a volunteer at the event who sails with Azamara) created a very special occasion for me and I am delighted to have played a small part in the success of a wonderful evening and meeting so many guests and crew. The HD said that all guests had attended the event.

I'm not sure if this was a first for Azamara but it was a unique experience for me. It was an opportunity to say 'Azamara Pursuit - Welcome home!' echoed by Capt. Carl as he welcomed the guests.
