  1. The tunnel tolls still take cash.

The only toll that has gone cashless is the Tobin bridge.

Thanks for the prompt response...that gives me peace of mind. I was reading where the car rental companies will gladly charge you 10.99 per day for a transponder!

  2. I'm renting a car at Logan Intl. next month. I understand there is a toll when leaving the airport. I'm wondering if that is still a cash toll as I also understand that Boston (Mass.) tolls are going cashless and you need to purchase a pass.

  3. DDs on the Lower Prom (old system) were "partially obstructed".

Whoever did the data entry for the new system just left the same description?

I recently booked a DD, main deck, on the Veendam. When I questioned my PVP about the partially obstructed view classification, she said the same thing. The DDs were partially obstructed under the old categories.

  4. I just buy the $10 watches first day so I do not need to carry my phone around to make the shows etc. I do not wear one daily and always forget to put one on before leaving the house. I now have 3 @10 watches in my night stand.

    Anyone want a watch for $20 :)

I'll give ya 5 bucks for all three!

  5. Thanks. I could swipe it and mail it to you..:D

Throw in that blouse she's wearing in the boat tour photo and you've got a deal!By the way, where were you at on that excursion? Reason I ask, we're on the Legend in May and plan to do the Altun Ha/ River Wallace excursion in Belize and that looks like that might be it. If so, I'd like some insight...right now I've got the Carnival one booked, but I like to do local ones if they are reputable.

  6. Just a tip if you are into this sort of thing. For 14 cruises I have always sent my wife a rose or roses to our table on formal night. This was from the Magic last week from Cherry on Top for a whopping price of $8.75..works pretty good..;)

My wife would appreciate the flower, but she would be much happier if I bought her that beautiful dress your wife is wearing!

  7. Well a little bit of a squirt when my dad snapped this pic, this could have been the first "cruise" ship I was on, but it is hard to say with certainty. In any event it was one of the identical sister ships.... so it did look like this one! A little history, the ship in the pic is the Panama, one of three identical ships, the other two were the Ancon and Cristobal. The Panama was eventually sold to American President Lines and became the President Hoover. She was later sold to Chandris and became the Regina Prima, scrapped sometime in the 80s. The picture was taken when the Panama and the ship my dad was on (one of the sisters) met in Port au Prince Haiti.

I was born in the good ole Canal Zone and we sailed on the Panama Line ships every summer to and from New York as we spent every summer in the states. The last two trips were to New Orleans after the PCL relocated there.I figure I sailed on those ships 29 times and still have a lot of childhood memories.

  8. I was born in Margarita and lived there until I was 16 at which time my father retired and we moved back to the states. We spent all our summers in Mass. so, we sailed every year on the Panama Line ships. I estimate I did approximatley 29 sailings. In the early years the ships sailed Cristobal to New York stopping at Port Au Prince, Haiti enroute. The last two years (1962 and 1963) we sailed Cristobal to New Orleans. Have many fond memories of those "cruises". As was said before, these small ships cannot compare in size to the "floating cities" that we sail on now.
