  1. The Crystal Caves are pretty far away from the port, about a 45 min drive in the opposite direction from the docks where most Stingray City operators leave from. I’d be surprised if you found a tour that easily combines the two stops.

Thanks! This is exactly what I needed to know.

  2. The coffee is fine. But that is my opinion. I am not a frothy/flavored/capuccino gal; I like plain old strong coffee. Both the buffet coffee and the french press coffee on NCL serve me well.

Where is the french press coffee served?

  3. I'm with you. My vacation ... my time. I am not going to sit through a show I don't like.

I'm watching The Cruise, about the Regal Princess, I'm getting a little nervous. I wouldn't like ANY of the 'show' performances I've seen rehearsed and bits & pieces of the show.

Am cruising Princess this year. I'm hoping there is entertainment I can enjoy.

I would love to watch this, are you watching on a streaming site? I can't seem to find it anywhere!

  4. I stayed in room 9316 this past Feb-March. You are going to love that balcony!

I was off the boat a week before I rebooked the same room: )

What you might have read is you can bring invited non Haven guests into the Haven restaurant to join you for a meal. But they will have to pay a fee of 25$.

We were so excited to get this cabin. I’ve watched a YouTube video room tour 100 times. At least!

  5. I felt like the reviewer likely had some bad info. And I do now recall reading the info about restaurant guests but that was of little use to me on that trip as we don’t plan to utilize that (sometimes) allowed feature.

To be honest I read that review and thought the reference was geared to some other haven perks like the courtyard etc.

    Thanks for the replies.

  6. Hello all! We are booked on Getaway in May. We were lucky enough to book an excellent Haven suite on deck 9, aft and are thoroughly excited. I was reading reviews today about Getaway and one slightly unhappy guest mentioned that, "We have discovered that one can pay a fee to use Haven facilities while having a lower level cabin." Is that true? I haven't seen that anywhere... possibly they were confusing it with the beach club passes?

    Thanks!

  7. Glad you enjoyed it as much as we did-

my sister was at Jaimies a week or so ago, so jealous

we are now booked for a symphony OTS cruise including Costa Maya for next year, heading to Jaimies of course-

To book Jamie’s do you just email them through their contact page?

    Thanks!

  8. Since our ship's itinerary was changed from Eastern to Western the week of May 13th of this year, we are now looking for something to do in Costa Maya. We emailed Maya Chan but they said they weren't planning on being open that week b/c there weren't supposed to be any ships in port. Ironically they were planning to take their managers on the Getaway which is the ship we are going to be one. They said if they would be open, they would email us. They haven't gotten back to us at this point so I think they must be planning to remain closed.

So I have a few questions about alternatives. I have read through this thread a bit. I would love to find a place that also had a pool and/or the ability to rent a more private space like a cabana or the like. Anything like that in Costa Maya?

  9. We are booked on Getaway in May in an aft Haven suite. As mentioned in other threads our itinerary is changing to western caribbean and now includes Harvest Caye. Are there any perks associated with being in a Haven suite when on the island?

I just ask b/c on RCL, if you are in a suite there were private beach areas for suite guests.

I did a search but didn't quite find what I was looking for, but feel free to direct me to a post I missed.

    Thanks!

  10. I would like to offer a few comments about our experience on the Silhouette.....

    The Good

Cruise Director - We were ecstatic to learn than Richard Spacey was the CD. We first cruised with him on the Freedom of the Seas about 7 years ago. He had incredible energy, a great sense of humour and unbounded energy. We were not disappointed. if you have a chance, go to see his performance at 70's night....

I am glad to hear that about Richard Spacey. We also sailed with him as the CD on RCL. I wondered about how his personality and style would transfer to Celebrity.

  11. When we booked one with RCL they were available months in advance. But I am now just over 40some days out from a trip and I never saw them come open on Celebrity. It just says book on board, which I assume translates to, tough luck Melinda, you aren't getting cabana. :)

  12. Which one is better with Kids, I have two daughters that are 6 and 11! Looking for something fun for them both.

I would assume Mr. Sanchos is more appropriate. I have rarely seen kids at Nachi. There aren't things for them to do there, like the inflatables. I feel like Nachi is more adult. That is just my opinion.

  13. Nachi has a very typical menu, plenty of choices. I haven't been to Sanchos, but this April will be our 5th time at Nachi. I haven't had the need to even look anywhere else. I know it can have 100 people, but I don't think I have ever felt like it it was more than 30-50 there. Always an awesome time.
