  1. i was able to get thru the entire process of a pretend booking today.....looks like they might have fixed that particular problem...though it seems that prices went up from the last time that I was able to access it.

It's no wonder cruises aren't being booked. I have been trying for the last 4 days to book a cruise and check pricing on 3 other cruises. I get as far as cabin selection and, as soon as I click on a cabin, the Princess site bombs out with this message:

yup...same thing for the last several days 😡 and it's still not fixed.

i am trying to change our ArriveCan form but they have 2 Prince Rupert ports listed...does anyone know which one we should use? a) Prince Rupert Harbour Anchorages,2,3,4,5,6 and 7....or b) Prince Rupert PRG#2

oh wait...i see a third option: Northland Cruise Ship Terminal (Prince Rupert).  I'm going to assume that it's this third one

  4. sailing tomorrow on the Ruby and this is in our summary that we are just being informed about today:

    TINERARY CHANGE

Please be advised that due to updated speed restrictions to safeguard marine life in the area, Ruby Princess will now call to Juneau, Alaska from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM on Friday, May 13, 2022, rather than 1:30 PM to 9:00 PM as previously scheduled. As a result of this change, we have replaced our call to Victoria, British Columbia on Wednesday, May 18 with a visit to Prince Rupert, British Columbia on Tuesday, May 17 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Additionally, arrival in Skagway, Alaska will now be at 6:30 AM on Saturday, May 14 rather than 6:00 AM as previously scheduled.

I can confirm that percentage is exactly 50% in our domain... I tell hubby months out that we're going on a cruise, and 2 days before we leave he starts thinking about what to pack - I take care of everything else HAHA!

Same in our domain….can’t tell you how many times we are on our way to cruise terminal, train station, vacation and he says “hey….did you bring any money?”  🙄🙄🙄

  6. For those embarking this past Sat (April 23)....did you have to show your ArriveCAN receipt when checking in on Sat or do you just have to have it to show Canadian officials when/if you get off the ship in Victoria (or Vancouver...can't remember where you are going) for that port stop? Our May 10 roll call want to know 😀

Technically, you are still ported in San Pedro.  But what a shocker that would have been.  At least you have a very nice view of the ships anchored at sea, the Angel's Lighthouse/breakwater, and the Palos Verdes Hills.  You might have been able to see Catalina today since the weather was beautiful.

We did have a great view of the 2 cruise ships as they pulled out this evening. The RCCL ship backed out of the channel and turned around directly in front of our starboard side balcony. After it swung around it just stood (?) there while a cargo ship (looked like a car carrier) passed it going out to sea.

  8. I guess that I just never paid attention as to where we were going to dock for this LA port stop. I just assumed it would be at the regular San Pedro cruise pier but since we never planned on getting off I never bothered to check. I was surprised and a little confused when I went out on my balcony this morning….where were we??? 😄 I then realized that we were docked down here at the end  of the channel…..down by the Doubletree harbor area. I’ve never docked here for a port call.

I'm not sure if you have the answer, but I'll ask it anyway. On our upcoming cruise, we'll be in Club Class dining. Prior to the pandemic, it was anytime dining and we were not required to make a reservation ahead of time. Is that still the case for CC dining?

Yes, that’s still the case….no reservations required

As for the mini bar, it was the same as always with one exception.  We got Sam Adams in place of the Dos Equis that we've normally seen in the past.

We got Sam Adams last week, this week it was Dos Equis (which we exchanged for the preferred Sam Adams.

  11. This is the second leg of our B2B so let me tell you how easy the transition was. In transit passengers were to meet at the Wheelhouse on Sat at 10:30am but at 9:45 they announced that disembarkation was ahead of schedule and all in transits should make our way to the Wheelhouse now. By 10:15 we were all (maybe 75 people??) led off the ship and into the terminal where we went thru customs. Customs consisted of walking past an officer while he took a cursory look at the passport in your hand and nodded you by. We were then all led back onto the ship where we had to ding in and then free to go. The hardest part of the whole procedure was walking down that long zig zag walkway and then backup again 😄

That's not the kind of cheese I get on my burritos. I think your spell check didn't know about Burrata cheese. 😁

Got that right 😄. After posting, I reread and wondered how many would catch that spell check fiasco.

DH then had the Mediterranean seafood parcel….like a cioppino without the red sauce…it is baked and presented in parchment paper. Then they open it up right at the table. He licked the plate clean

I’m sorry your first Princess cruise wasn’t better, but I’m not surprised by what you say, except for the casino. They must have figured out the ventilation because last cruise the smoke from the casino was horrendous everywhere in the Piazza and even in the midship elevators. Score one for Princess!

No, I don’t think they figured out the ventilation in the casino. I think it’s still smokey and my clothes smell when I come out of there. I was surprised the fornal night was NOT a non-smoking night….no signs and lots of smokers.

BTW: PescadoAmaillo…..got to meet “G” last night at the Captain’s Party…he’s having a good time 😄.  Unfortunately we left Ensenada late so the Captain missed his own party.

In my 40+ cruises on Princess the cruise director has never had an impact on my cruise. What am I missing?

unless you've experienced a CD like Matt you don't know what you're missing and you can't appreciate a GOOD CD from a mediocre one...one who is so energetic, friendly and outgoing makes you WANT to watch the Wake Show and attend the activities (just to watch him dance was entertaining enough for me). His enthusiasm was contagious and he made a cruise FUN.
