I believe the staterooms got new mattresses, but that was it. Carpet, draperies, furniture, bathrooms....all seem to be from the late 80s or early 90s. Think peach colors and seafoam greens.

I totally agree with you on the cruise director, but I even had a hard time understanding him. Was Captain Tuvo on your cruise? He's been MIA for a while now.

Captain Tuvo wasn't on our sailing, either.

Our cabin was very dated. Other than that, we loved the common areas, the service, and the food.

So sad. I begged my husband to do a flight-seeing trip of Denali, but he refused due to safety concerns.

An hour to see Totem Bight should be sufficient, so I think you'll have time.

We only got one punch for the large sized coffee on the Star two weeks ago. I bought on eBay, and not barista even bothered to turn it over and look for a name/cruise. We used it once in the dining room and they were gone a long time, so may have had to go to the International Cafe to get it.

We were with Juneau Whale Watch on 7/24, less than a week ago, and saw 12 whales bubble net feeding. Amazing!

We just got off on 7/28. Overall, I'd say entertainment was average, at best. We went to Voice of the Seas auditions, and unless they improved immensely, we decided it wasn't worth our time to attend the finals. The magician/comedian was pretty good. They had a woman named Teacake signing Whitney Houston songs. She was good. The only things I would strongly recommend are the natualist's talks.

I'm going with Southeast Aviation on the 23rd. Here I've only been worrying about encountering a bear on the path to :loudcry:Anan. This will give me something else to worry about:loudcry:.

Travel agent claims she talked to supervisor at Princess and they said there was nothing they could do on an existing booking.

The forward and aft balcony cabins have dropped to the same price as my inside obstructed view mid ship cabin.

Now she says that it is for new bookings only and my price is 2.5 times higher.

This is the Star Princess, leaving in a month. Final payment has been made, but the balcony cabin price really dropped. I asked her to make the change. I guess it is a hassle if everyone does this. It feels like a game of musical chairs.

Is she just being lazy and doesn't want to change my reservation? This is an Alaskan cruise, where balconies, towards the back of the ship, are available for around the same price that I paid for my obstructed view window cabin.

I bought an unmarked card on eBay. If I have any problems, PayPal will be hearing from me. They will refund up to 180 days after purchase.

Same thing on the Star. I'm surprised they hide them under "inside" cabins. I bet a lot of people never see them.
