Are you able to book one person in a cabin now, then add others as you can afford their deposits? I don't know how that kind of thing goes, but it might be able to get the cruise booked now, so you don't have to worry about the rate going up, but you don't have to pay the 1250 in deposit right away.
-
So the question I have is are you planning on sneaking him into the cabin with you? If so, will never work... Why not just call Carnival or your TA and ask that question? Or, you can try a mock booking to see if a similar cabin can hold 3 people.
Steve
I can't speak for OP, but I know I HATE HATE HATE calling people for questions like that. Sitting on hold while I have other things I could be doing on time, hoping there aren't connection issues between my phone and theirs, keeping my toddler quiet enough for me to hear what the person on the other end of the phone is saying. Generally, if I have to call to find the answer about something, I just go on not knowing the answer because it's a PITA for me to make phone calls.

This makes me want to plant funny "props" for the steward to use in making the animals! LOL

One word. Pregnant. And I crave sour candies. Just can't find that on the dessert menu :D
I'm actually amazed I didn't spend more.
Or seasick. For me, a little sour candy goes a LOOOONG way if I'm feeling queasy.

I agree with buying a carnival gift card or cruise cash for yourself using the Visa before you leave. You can charge the exact amount, no worries about fraud, and it hassle free on board.

Okay, I have changed my coffee drinking habits since I last cruised and I just use half&half now. Do they have it available regularly or is it only regular milk?
-
We never buy photos. They really aren't any better quality than most point and shoot cameras can get. I don't see how this service makes any kind of profit, even at the exorbitant price. Paying for the crew to be photogs, the props, the printing, etc. They'd have to sell a LOT of photos to turn a profit!

It might also be beneficial to sign up for a reduced deposit very early and save longer for the cruise, locking in the early saver rate. As opposed to waiting until you have the full deposit saved up and maybe not getting the lowest rate available. Not an automatic discount, but might be a savings if it would take you out of the early saver rate to wait to save the deposit?

I believe I remember seeing a random OBC on one of our cruises for adjustments to ports fees and such. Maybe they charge port fees based on expected number of passengers, then change it as the cruise fills up or doesn't? So if more people book, it is less per passenger? I feel like some of these things are deliberately confusing. LOL

We typically will get coffee, danishes, bagel, croissants etc. Whatever we feel like when we fill out the card at night. We enjoy waking up and hanging out on the balcony in our robes having some nosh.
-
We like to get coffee and croissants/pastries to enjoy on our balcony in the morning before we get going for the day. I've ordered from RS several times and the thing that stands out most to me is that the regular orders were NEVER 100% correct. Breakfast was almost always right, but snacks or lunches were not. Whether it was wrong bread, no side, less than or more than I ordered, etc. So I would take a rehaul of the ordering, assembling system rather than a rehaul of the menu!

In 2008 the Victory stopped and picked up, I believe, 3 Cubans who were stranded. The coast guard did not assist because the coast guard was not there! The captain made the decision to do the rescue and I believe the new "passengers" stayed on board until we got back to Miami, where they were offloaded to the coast guard.

This was NOT bait and switch. It is perfectly legal and appropriate for a company to say that there are rates "as low as" a certain amount. If what the OP chose was not that cheap, that doesn't mean it was a glitch, it means the selections he made were not eligible for the cheaper rate. That is like buying a shirt off a sales rack with a big $10 sticker, but in smaller print it says "and up." Not every shirt on the rack is guaranteed to be $10. That isn't bait and switch, it's just advertising and marketing.

I forget, can we add tip for room service runner to the bill when it shows up or do we need to plan on getting small bills for this. We don't do a TON of room service, but we will probably have coffee/fruit/croissants on our balcony most mornings!
Also, would these employees be under the "alternative" dining for the prepaid gratuity? If they are I was thinking something like $2 ($1 per person in the cabin) a trip on top? Is that fair, or too small an amount, you think? Hard to come up with a percentage when room service is included in the fare. I don't want to be "cheap" but I also don't want to just throw money at everyone on board, ya know?

The first massage I ever had was on a carnival ship and I can tell you, I'd never waste my money again. The masseuse went from barely touching to practically beating me when I said I could handle it a little firmer. My muscles were unhappy for at least a day after that. I don't remember anyone trying to get me to buy anything though, so I guess that was good? Thankfully I've gotten much better massages on land!

sassy i think it will. When i checked in at mia it took about 5minutes. Since you have fftf once you get to the port you'll get priority going thru security. So i think you'll shave off quite a bit of time checkiing in at the airport:)

WHAAAT?! I've never heard of this before! We're flying in the day of, but we should be getting in around 10:30, so I'm not worried about time, but the faster I can get on the ship and start my vacation, the better. We have purchased FTTF, though. So would this actually save us any time once we get to the port?
-
First...AWWWWWWW... HAHAHA... Second, it would be SUPER easy to play that off if you can keep your cool. If they say "enjoy your balcony" (which it sounds like they won't) and wifey asks about it, just say "Must've been a mistake. We booked a room in steerage! haHA" Enjoy your cruise and Happy Anniversary!

THANKS GUYS!
I just realized it was a pack' n' go rate for a balcony guarantee, too!

I booked in February for a March 30 cruise. Today I see it's $50 cheaper p/p. I have no clue if I booked under a fare that allows me to get OBC or price drops (shame on me for not paying attention. I got excited and just clicked through!) Is there a way to know if I qualify before I call?
-
I don't know that OP would "qualify" for a refund in full, because FTTF also pays for priority tender and debarking. As those services haven't been affected, guest services may not be willing to refund all or any of the price. Not saying not to try, but just thinking it all through. There are still SOME parts of the service that may be usable and if they give him a full refund now, and he still takes advantage of the other services, he's essentially gotten them for free.

As long as they are both 21 or older, they will be fine to be on together (only need a 25 year old if one passenger is UNDER 21). As far as documentation. She needs to be booked under her maiden name (the name on her official documents) and she will use her existing license and passport.
-
I wouldn't because that's not how I "use" Facebook. I'm not the kind of person who just friends people I meet. I mostly have very close friends and family. BUT that said, I do not think it would be inappropriate to request. As others have posted, if she is okay with it, she'll accept If she's not, she won't. Just try not to take it personally if she doesn't accept. Even if she genuinely liked you guys, she might not be comfortable sharing as much with you as she does on FB.

Is the wifi "good." Fast enough for skype-ing back home to the family? Or is it pretty slow and best for say, email and IM? Thanks!

1) you can use a not clean toilet. A nice shiny bowl is great and all, but it's intended purpose is not inhibited by not being scrubbed daily.
2) Many people keep toilet brushes in their home bathrooms. Do you feel obligated to scrub toilets before/after you use them at friend's or family's homes because the presence of the brush commands it? (If so, can I get you to make that a thing, so I can invite people over and get my toilets cleaned for me?)
