  1. Can someone provide pictures of breakfast, lunch dinner menu's and/or describe the various food options?  Do you have buffets for any of these meals?  Can you describe the various daytime and evening entertainment options.

If you have a rollator, can you get this through the doors to the cabin?  What about getting off ship with a walker?   Do the elevators on the ship get you everywhere you want to go if you have a walker?

  2. We went on the same cruise from 12/17-12/27.  I would give the cruise the following scores:

Embarkation - 7 out of 10 - We had our medallion mailed and this helped speed up the process.

Accessibility - 6 out of 10 - We had a rolling walker and you could not get bye the carts in the hall.  You either moved them or waited for staff to move them or collapse the walker (this was not great).  We had a handicap-accessible room which meant the walker would fit through the door.  I heard from many who did not have this benefit and it was a major pain for them.

Food - 7 out of 10.  We ate in the dining room whenever possible to avoid the crowds in the buffet. However, the few times we ate in the buffet it was not as crowded as expected.  A few great meals and many above average.

Activities - 7 out of 10 We enjoyed all the evening activities except one singer.  The daytime activities were great in the beginning but faded at the end.  The seats in Princess Live were bad - no padding.

Sanctuary - 9 out of 10 - I would have reserved more days if the weather was better ($40 per 4 hour session)

Leaving the ship - 4 out of 10 - This was not well organized - no information on when your group was to leave.

  3. Are we required to show a negative COVID test within 48 hours (???) of getting on the ship?  We are leaving Galveston on the Regal on Dec. 17 and there were comments on that board that made it seem like this was needed.

  4. We will be on a 10 day cruise out of Galveston in December on Regal.  Just wanted to know if you have tried the Sanctuary and was it worth it.  I think the cost is now $30 for half day per person - is this correct?

  5. We have booked a 10 day Western Caribbean Cruise out of Galveston and wanted to hear from others who have been on this cruise.  I know it is subjective but I prefer and softer bed and wondering if I need to bring a foam pad.  Suites were sold out and ended up in a mini-suite.  I hear the bidding process does not work well because you are not sure of the location of the room you will receive.  I am on the 14th floor near the Wedding Chapel.

I am not a big fan of the lunch buffet.  Do they offer an Unlimited specialty dinning option for an extra fee.

Any suggestions for excursions that have minimal walking would be appreciated.

  6. The Mamma Gal East End Native Experience meets you near the Harley Davidson Shop which is near the pier where you get off the ship.  They take you to a national park of the Bahamas located on Freeport.  You then go on a walking tour of the national park and go down stairs to a cave and have the opportunity to look around.  You go across the street to another area where they filmed Pirates of the Carribean.  On the way back to the ship, you stop for lunch to eat at a location that overlooks the ocean with incredible views (you pay for your lunch).  Your final stop is a shopping experience which was not that great.  I asked about their last hurricane and the tour guide shared some incredible stories.  The Carnival excursions did not interest me.

  7. Ship = Carnival Dream

Room = Deck 10  Balcony- This costs more but a great decision.  We were on the Liddo deck where all the action occurs.

Day 1 - Sea Day - We did the Binax Now COVID tests and had a late boarding time.  We did not use Verifly but it did not take long to get through the line.

Day 2 - Key West - I stayed on the ship but my wife got off.  It was very hot.

Day 3 - Freeport - We booked a Trip Advisor excursion (Mamma Gal East End Native Experience) and this was outstanding.

Day 4 - Half Moon Cay - They do not have things well organized.  We rented a clam shell and it was fairly hot.

Day 5 - Nassau - We went to Pearl Island as a Carnival Excursion.   The food was very good and it was fairly hot.

    Day 6-7 Sea Days

The food on the ship was above average.  I hate the lunch buffet so we choose to eat Guy's burgers around 1 p.m. to avoid the lines.  We did eat at Guy's BBQ one day but the food portion size was pitiful.  The entertainment on the ship was very good and we enjoyed the evening shows.  They could beef up their entertainment options during the day.  I would pick a cooler time of year to do if I went again but I do not think I would repeat this cruise because we like to go to new places.  If you have specific questions, we would be glad to answer them.
