My wife and I have November cruise on RCCL Oasis of the Seas. We live in Northern Palm Beach County --so we took a drive to see the setup at the Port of Miami. Traffic from the tunnel to RCCL luggage drop off at 11AM was a disaster--took over 45 minutes. Lots of construction trucks and cruise traffic.
How long will this continue? Can you go driectly to parking garage and bring your luggage from garage?
Thanks
Think about thaking the Birghtline

Have you all considered taking a tour? There are a few companies that will pick you up, take you on a tour and keep your luggage with you throughout the day and then drop you off at a hotel afterwards?
Why not combine a tour with tranfer? Brilliant!
I always refer my customers to Miami Naitve and Wild Lime Adventures...both have outstanding customer service and are permitted to enter the POM.
Ask for John at Miami Native https://miaminativetours.com/
and Ben at Wild Lime https://wildlimeadventures.com/

Here is a great option: Have Wild Lime Adventures pick you up at the POM, take you on their part day tour (#1 on their website) and drop you off at Port Everglades. Great value and great idea to use a tour as a transfer as well.

Yes, there is a company called Wild Lime Adventures. They have a Little Havana tour and Miami Neighborhood tour we send people on....
-
It's a great area...walkable to Los Olas and lots of new fun places going in all around there!
-
Yes, try either Miami Native or Wild Lime Adventures...both store your luggage and will pick up in POM and drop in FLL.

Last year they were open on Dec 24 as normal but closed on Dec 25

Our hotel uses these two companies (Wild Lime Adventures and Miami Native) . They will pick you up at POM, take you on a tour of the Everglades and an airboat ride and drop you off at Port Everglades and will store your bags. Miami Native has a minimum of 4 people (but you can pay for the others if you are just two) and Wild Lime has no minimum IF they have a tour going that day, which, when I call the usually do.

Why no Seaquarium? I absolutely adore zoos and aquariums. The Zoo is a definite because they have a Galapagos Tortoise encounter. I'm a turtle nut so that is something I don't want to miss.
The Zoo is very nice...have won many awards and is extremely ethical. The Sea Aquarium is ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!! Very poor treatment of the Orca there for years.....dirty, small tanks and poor treatment of animals. I, too love certain aquariums, NOT this one!

You are a good sport!
They all leave at different time but you could take a harbor cruise of Biscayne Bay looking at all the fancy houses and wave while you are on board! Be sure to check out Wynwood, Little Havana, Little Haiti, the Everglades and Big Cypress Preserve and the 10,000 Islands (take an organized tour) as well as Viscaya and South Beach! Kimpton Surfcomber and th other couple Kimpton properties down here are having a special in September...I know all about them (wink, wink). You could also rent the Citi Bikes and drive alongside Macarthur Causeway waving as you go...or go have lunch on Fisher Island via the ferry.

Lots of my hotel customer have been using Home Test kits:

The fashion/arts district (just south of Wynwood) has asome great places to stay...on VRBO or Air B and B...
Very walkable and accessible
Rather than the zoo and definitely NO to the Seaquaraium, have you considered going to the National Parks? We have 4 in South Florida!

There are so many choices on South Beach but I do think Hollywood Beach is a bit more family friendly and they do decorate the broadwalk for the holidays...you could also try the Circ Hotel in downtown Hollywood...there is a free electric car shuttle that takes you all around downton and the beach...also, very centrally located to FLL and MIA

Kimpton Surfcomber and other Kimptons (Anglers) have great specials periodically
-
You may want to look at some places on Hollywood Beach...Marriott, Margaratville, or some of the small places...it's a charming area and some good restaurants too, like GGs and the new Tiki Tiki
-
Sixt is there...great customer service and a shuttle
-
Riverside is so nice! Plus, it is right on Los Olas NEXT to Cheesecake Factory and about 4 other great restaurants very close by

All have transportation and port pick up options. Atleast before pandemic....

Here are 3 companies that provide small group tours, pick you up from the Ports, store your bags and have small airboats:
https://wildlimeadventures.com/
https://www.miaminativetours.com/ (we have used them before and he does pick up in FLL)

There are a couple of companies that will pick you up from the ship, store your luggage, take you to the Everglades on an extensive tour of the Everglades with a qualified naturalist and include a hour long airboat ride and then take you to the airport. A great use of your time!

Use an ecotour as a transer and luggage storage option.
I like Miami Native, Wild Lime Adventures and a distant third, Magic City
