I was living with a bit of guilt of how I acted back when I managed the old thread and for that, my deepest apologies go to anyone who I upset at the time.

We cruise during peak hurricane season because the prices drop significantly, and there are less kids onboard so the ships seem less crowded. Only one of our cruises was affected by a hurricane, and it was a basic itinerary change (the order of the ports was reversed). No complaints from us.

MAJESTY UPDATE: STILL Patricio Honores!!! He's onboard until January 2019. Erik from Mexico is the Activities Manager. Great guys!

We will be on the Serenade in two weeks, any one know who the Cruise Director will be ? They are on a transatlantic to Boston where they Maine Canada cruises start on September 11th. It seems when they arrive back in the US is when the change will be, but many of us are curious who will it be ?

It *may* be Carly Boileau, as she often does the short Canada/NE season between the transatlantic and the repositioning, and she is not scheduled on any other ship, however this is just a guess.

Out of curiosity, does the Allure feel any "older" to you with you having been on Harmony recently? We haven't been on Allure/Oasis in a few years with having tried Anthem and Harmony and just curious if Allure/Oasis are showing signs of noticeable age?

I am onboard too, and Allure definitely is showing signs of wear and tear, and seems old to us, esp since our last few cruises were on Anthem. It’s not hindering our fun and enjoyment,of course, but it is noticeable. For example, seat cushions are ripped/stained and have lost their cushionability. The sofa in our cabin is “flat” and needs a deep cleaning. Things like that.

Obstructed view balcony (never had one before?) is $200 total more and non obstructed is $400 more. Not a huge difference, but just wondering if it would be warm enough to spend time out there.

The obstructed view balconies on deck 7 and 8 aren't really obstructed. See if you can get one of those!

About 10 years ago, an overzealous TSA agent dumped my mothers pill organizer out on the dirty counter. He said he was checking for narcotics (was he an expert in pill identification, which ironically, as a pharmacist, I am!). Whether he was right or wrong, we always carry pills in their original vials just to avoid this kind of stress. As for my mom, she was able to get her prescriptions refilled at CVS when we got to the embarkation port, so she had a "clean" set to take. She was even able to get a vacation override for her insurance, so she only had to pay for her copay.
