Yup. We're on the 3/10 sailing. Where are y'all coming in from? From where I am, in Charlotte, we're getting tons of rain, hopefully our flight can make it out. Our back plan is to just hop in a car if the flight is canceled.
Flying in from Kansas City.

How would it be a revenue producer? It's included dining.

I figured this was going to happen. But it’s even earlier than I thought.

I'm also going to be taking my first non-Carnival cruise in March on the NCL Breakaway. The pricing with free at sea was just too good to pass up.

I don’t think I completely agree about spending on new builds. The other lines are under similar pressures from debt. (Granted Carnival is a little deeper) and have invested in new builds. I think they could announce a new build for Carnival before the end of 2025.
I also think the XL class was definitely a move to offer something closer to the Oasis class. Much larger capacity than any previous Carnival ship, zones (neighborhoods). I also agree they are not trying to directly match but rather have a competitive product to what other lines like Royal are offering.
Looks like I might have been correct.

If you had added that Jayhawk part before it would have saved me 500 calories 🙂. But selling my tix to that game paid for a huge part of my cruise! We listened in the car as we drove to NOLA and enjoyed 95% of the game.
Yea I’ll bet those tix demanded quite a premium price. If you ever get the chance to come down to Lawrence and attend a game at Allen Fieldhouse you will not be disappointed.
Enjoying the review. Looking forward to my first NCL experience in March.

@slavens_09 Some additional ‘research’ this evening allows me to state definitively there are no beans in nachos or coney 🙂.
Thank you for the information. I hope the ‘research’ wasn’t too taxing lol.
A bit off topic but I did enjoy watching my Jayhawks beat the Hoosiers the other day 😜.

30 minute wait for Taste or Savor so will use that time to recap O’Sheehans for lunch. Same wait there maybe they just always say that timeframe?!
Lunch tasted great but the service was a bit challenged. It was just Josh and myself, and we started with wings (me) and nachos (J) for an appetizer. I’ll tell you we split the pretzel bites but that might be inaccurate and we may have ordered two 😉
the service was so odd I forgot to take a photo of the pretzel bites.First a menu:
My wings came first.
About 5 minutes later the nachos arrive.
Then my burger (custom bacon cheddar) came while J was finishing his nachos. No pretzel bites yet. Burger was great by the way.
First order of pretzel bites arrive and the second a few minutes later. Then a long pause. Long enough that I finished my burger and all pretzel bites were gone.
About 10 minutes later we had his Coney Island Hot Dog. He also said it was great.
The food was all great but it was a weird experience as we couldn’t figure out the method to our servers madness. We will return bc I need one of those coneys too!
I’ll be sailing on the breakaway in March.
Random food question. Do they have beans in the chili that they but on the nachos or the coney?
thanks

Looking at the specialty dinning pricing for my upcoming sailing on the Horizon Nov. 5th. It appears that the prices have increased again on specialty dinning. JiJi's is now $24 up from $18. Bonsai Teppanyaki dinner $42 up from $38. Glad I had already purchased at the cheaper price.

I have observed teens sleeping on towels at mini golf.
Not sure about roll away, perhaps a small air mattress?
Yep. My first cruise was when I was 18. Spent a couple nights out on deck sleeping. It was awesome.

I don't think Carnival will be spending money on ANY new builds for quite some time, with the massive amount of debt that they currently have. Also, they haven't been trying to compete with Royal Caribbean's new ship size or features for decades

Do you guys think the Jubilee will be the last XL class ship built for Carnival?
I’m thinking that it will be. I think they will try to come up with something that is closer to matching Icon of the Seas.
Thoughts?

To be honest I see way more fun videos than I do bad ones. And there’s just as many bad videos about other cruise lines as there are about Carnival. I was just watching a video of a pretty bad fight on a Royal Caribbean cruise. I think the change is because of complaints. Lots of cruisers like to go social media free when on vacation. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had people tell me that they like to completely disconnect while cruising but Carnival makes it hard by not printing fun times and pushing the Hub app. I’ve also heard lots of complaints about scanning for menus instead of having actual menus to order from. So I think it’s more about people pushing back and not liking being pushed to use their phones.
I agree completely that there are more good videos than bad and that it happens on the other lines.
I also agree that they brought it back because of the demand for it.
My thought was it’s just also convenient that bringing it back takes cameras out of people’s hands.
-
Just a thought.
Could a part of the reason that Carnival has decided they are bringing back the cabin delivered Fun Times be that they are wanting to cut down on the amount of people carrying their phones with them all the time on the ship?
Fewer people with phones(cameras) could mean less people to take videos that go viral and make the cruise line look bad.
Just a random thought I had today.

Seems like a pretty lengthy dry dock considering she had 1 not to long ago when she got the new paint and they expanded the casino a little and removed the old future cruise desk and replaced it with a carnival adventures area.
I wonder what they are planning on doing?
My guess is they are going to add a red frog pub possibly in place of the ivory club bar.
Or
Put the red frog in the same location it is in on the Valor and move Club O2 to the conference room on deck 4. Then put cabins in where the ivory club bar used to be. I don’t know all of that is possible in less than a month though.
Any other ideas?

Does the new port Carnival is building in Belize have a name?
The port in Belize being built which is called Port Coral as I understand it is not Carnival specific. I believe it will be available for any cruise line to use.

Have sailed solo for the most part but this December the whole family is coming along for their first cruise.
They are traveling with 3 kids all under 16.
kids under 16 don’t need a photo ID right? Just a birth certificate for boarding.
Thanks for the help.
