    Well that's great info.

I'm guessing that upon arrival, there is only one building to report to for check in? I couldn't get it wrong?

There are three cruise terminal buildings one for each of the cruise ship docks. If you leaving from C331, you check in at Terminal 1; if C332, then terminal 2; … The terminals are in a row and should have some indication which ship is at which dock. You may be be able to see which cruise ship is which terminal, as they tower over the low terminal building.

  2. Do you mean the Point Atkinson lighthouse near Vancouver?
The Tongass Narrows are just south of Ketchikan. It is about 550 miles straight line from Vancouver, even farther on a cruise ship traveling through the Inside Passage.

Does anyone have current construction information on how far the buses can go in Denali national park due to the landslide? Will any additional road be open as the summer progresses?  Is there even a possibility of ever seeing the mountain? Thank you for sharing.

If the mountain is not shrouded with clouds, you can see the mountain along the road well before Mile 43. We had excellent views of the mountain from the train from Anchorage to Denali. We were lucky that the mountain was out both days.

They do discount for advanced reservations? I thought check online it's $142 same every day,

The only difference I can think of it's book through Cruise ship (Holland America) $149 avoid risk in case anything happens ship won't dock the port at that day, if book directly through railway office the money is gone.

On the booking web page, it says:

    Fine Print:

    * Pricing is for tickets purchased in advance of travel. Please book at least 24 hours in advance of travel to receive the price above.

  5. The railroad does sell excursion tickets at the railway office. Excursions leave about every hour. They do discount for advanced reservations. If you there on a heavy cruise ship day, individual times within your time in port may sell out. Lots of info, including the excursion schedule at https://wpyr.com/

  6. There are two locations where cruise ships dock in Riga. The main port in on the river is in town walking distance to old town. However, only cruises ships up to a certain size can dock there. Larger cruise ships, such as the mega ships that have come up in this forum, have to dock in the iindustrial port, which is farther from town and requires shuttle buses to town. The Nieuw Statendam is not a mega ship, but it is a large ship.
If the NS can port In town, you should have no problem. If not, there may be issues similar to those the mega ships had.
I have the same question about the NCL Dawn, which is just a little smaller than the NS. I have not been able to find a definite answer for the Dawn.

What is the meaning of the dock codes?  BRD, RRF, RRA, ORF?

Those are the ship positions at the docks in Skagway. There are three docks:

    Broadway - BRD

Ore - Two smaller ships - ORF (forward)

Railroad - Two larger ships - RRF (forward) RRA (aft)

Oh! I got an AARP membership (I signed DH up because he's...more mature...) It was on sale for $12 for the year and it came with a free gift--a multi-USB port charger thingie. I was actually planning to buy something similar for our cruise that was $15 on Amazon, so basically the membership already paid for itself? Unless the multi-USB port thing is a piece of junk. Will update when I receive it!

I’ been using my AARP USB charger at home for some weeks. It seems to work. I would take a backup charger just in case.

Understood. We're comfortable with the driving conditions, it sounds very similar to what we're used to. The driving will be part of the adventure 🙂

As I read your plan, you may not be allowing enough buffer in your driving, especially on days you have an activity in the morning followed by a long drive, such as Denali to Glacer View and Manatuska Glacier to Seward.
