    Correct.

I was referring to the non-complimentary options at Basecamp being included in the UDP. An earlier poster in this thread said that it was included with the a la carte credit, but others have said it isn't. Just trying to figure out what the accurate answer is.

The ala carte places included are Izumi Sushi (not Izumi in the Park), Basecamp upcharges and Pier 7. Giovannis Wine Bar snacks and Trellis Bar snacks are not included.

No other new specialty dining. We canceled our UDP onboard and have been partaking of mostly complimentary items and Coastal Kitchen instead.

I heard basecamp was not included and was confirmed by someone currently onboard. Was that report not true?

What happens if the child uses an Oyster for the journey in to London before the Young Visitor discount is set on the Oyster, and the discount is set later on the same day? Will the daily cap simply be applied at the 50% rate, even though the Gatwick --> London journey was initially charged at adult rate? Or will the system ring-fence that journey at adult rate and only apply the 50% cap to travel made after the discount was set?

There's one small point of detail to mention about Kentish Town, which I think probably will not concern Ronaldo807 but they may see it mentioned: At the moment, Kentish Town Underground station is closed. It closed in late June 2023 for "up to a year" because the escalators are being replaced and other refurbishment work is being done. However, this does not affect Kentish Town National Rail station, which is the station involved in the route from Gatwick that gumshoe958 described.

Also, in relation to the journey to Waterloo: I have a suspicion that neither Kentish Town Tube nor Tufnell Park Tube have step-free access, and I am fairly confident that the Northern Line at Waterloo does not. All this may be a consideration for travelling to Waterloo with luggage.

I didn't realize the underground was closed so thank you for pointing that out. How far is the rail station and the underground?

Would it be better to take a taxi/uber to Waterloo?

  4. I read through some of the more recent pages and came out more confused, but maybe I'm over thinking this. Our party will be two adults and a 12 year old and our trip is next summer (2024).

    1. We fly into Gatwick and then need to get to Gospel Oak, Tufnell Park, or Kentish Town stop. All three are roughly the same walking distance to our final destination. Does one have a more direct route from Gatwick? Do I buy the tickets in advance? Does it matter which website/app I use? This could be tricky given we won't know the exact time we will land, get our luggage, clear customs, etc.

    2. We will need to get from one of those same three stops to Southampton for our cruise.  Does one have a more direct route to Southampton on a Sunday morning? Do I buy the tickets in advance? Does it matter which website/app I use?

    3. For general travel within the area while we are in London, I assume that we would just buy tickets/swipe our card when we are going somewhere versus buying tickets in advance. Would that be an accurate assumption?

I had the exact same problem with one of our cruises. I had multiple cruises in the app, and only one didn’t say “My Cruise” but it was correct on my husbands phone. So I couldn’t see any of our excursions or anything.

I tried all the things that others have mentioned above plus I called and spoke to someone in royals IT dept who said they would fix it, and nothing worked until my TA contacted Royal. I don’t know what they did but it worked.  Have your TA contact Royal.

She did and they said everything looked fine on their end and supposedly entered a ticket to have it looked into by their infamous IT team. The sailing is in 2024 so not time sensitive, but wanted to get it addressed before it was. It seemed like such a simple fix on the cruise, but apparently more complicated to those over the phone 🤷‍♂️

  6. For reference, when looking at your reservations on the app, you should see My Cruise at the top left of each reservation.

Last year we went on Allure of the Seas and I noticed the day before embarkation that "My Cruise" was no longer showing on the app. This ultimately led to me not being able to complete the muster drill, make onboard reservations, connect to the WiFi, etc. I was still able to see the reservation on the app, but it was essentially linked with nothing. After waiting in line at guest services and then at the internet desk it was discovered that my email address had been unlinked from the reservation. The lady at the internet desk re-linked it and everything worked perfectly. This was the first and only time I had an issue since Royal went to the app. My wife on the other hand had no issues at all.

Fast forward to today and I now have the same issue with a sailing for next year. "My Cruise" does not show on the app which for now means I can't see any purchases/reservations we have made or make any additional ones. My wife's app is working as it should and shows all reservations made. I reached out to my TA who reached out to Royal who said everything looked fine on their end. Obviously it's not fine and I don't want to have to deal with this onboard again.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what was the resolution so I can share that with my TA/Royal?

  7. We booked flights through Celebrity for our European cruise this summer so we went ahead and added transportation to the airport on disembarkation day. Do they assign disembarkation times based on flight time and have the bus waiting accordingly? That has been our experience with Air2Sea and we never thought twice about it until I was looking at our reservation online and it showed an 11:00 am transfer which wouldn’t get us to the airport on time (and I’m assuming is well after last call to disembark).

I misspoke earlier that the Elite discount was taken from the $13.99. That WAS the discounted price. The package difference shows as $18.00 for my cruise. With the 15% Elite discount, I was expecting it to be $15.30 plus gratuities.

Just called and got the same deal. They also swapped my daughter's (minor) classic non-alcoholic package for the zero proof package at no charge

So you got a better deal compared to what you expected to get? What number did you call? I know it's one of those luck of the draw deals.

I called today to upgrade to Premium for our April cruise. Was asked if I wanted to upgrade one or both people in the cabin. Price was $13.99/day plus 20% gratuity, less our 15% discount. Used OBC for the upgrade. Except for waiting 30 minutes for an agent, easy-peasy.

How did you get the $13.99/day price? The standard difference between the packages now is $20 and on the cruise planner for my sailing, it's an $18 difference. Was the difference only $13.99 for your sailing?

I've seen this discount happen on this tour when I have had it booked too.  Rather than cancel and re-book - just call then or go in to the chat.  They can discount it for you, and then you don't risk it being sold out when you try to re-book.

Are they actually updating the price you paid and refunding the difference back to your credit card? Or just canceling and rebooking for you (which is what Royal does)?
