Thank you. Is the personalizer on the App? I'm totally in the dark here and could be one of those with an assignment at the pier lol!

You need to go on Princess website to get to your personalized.  The app is good when your on the ship and the website is good is good before embarkation.

That is ridiculous.  I definitely suggest you call back.  Same thing happened to me.  I knew I had done this many times in the past.  Called back the next day and got a different person who did it with no problem.  Used my husbands OBC to book both our excursions.  It is frustrating when they tell you with such confidence that it can't be done.  As a matter of fact I just did it again a couple wks ago, no problem.

I had the same problem on this cruise.  We have the military benefit and of course it's in my name and our stockholder benefit I have it put in DW name.  For this cruise Princess put both benefits in my name, and we use all our OBC for excursions.  Tried several times via email to get the shareholder OBC put in DW's name to no avail.  Finally called the stockholder benefit to explain what and why what I wanted, and checked the Princess website about an hour later and found it finally was changed over to DW name.  It just a matter who you talk to that matters.

As someone who was on the Star Fire Cruise, I had that thought for a second or two.  But the Star was in service for a long time after the event.  I was about to finally get back on the Star right as the pandemic hit and am excited to do so again.

The last time we were on the Star, I remember seating on our balcony and noticed the fire suppression system that was just installed.  And remember reading that the fire set a new standard for the entire cruise industry.

My experience may be different than your will be.

Back in December all the Princess excursions for a western Caribbean cruise were scheduled pre-cruise for an early start.

Once on board, we found most of the early ones we had looked at were now scheduled for a more reasonable starting time that was 1 to 3 hours later than originally scheduled.

On our last Caribbean cruise on embarkation day when we went through our excursion tickets, we noticed that several tours had different times.  We were never notified beforehand.

  6. We did the caves before COVID.  They are above ground and the big difference depending on the day and time is that they can get very warm 80 degrees + and are very humid.  That makes a perfect recipe for mold and mildew.  They have fans blowing the air around to keep it cool.  I ended up with such a bad sinus infection that had to get an Rx from ships medical.

    Question...

DH and I each have plenty of OBC. I booked an excursion online a few weeks ago for a September cruise. On the Princess site, it shows the excursion as booked and paid. But looking at our OBC, I don't see where it's been deducted. I know it hasn't been paid via credit card. Is this typical?

    Thanks!

    ~Denise

From our experience, that is normal.  What princess is showing you on the website is the OBC you're entitled to.  You probably will not see anything about your account until you get onboard the ship.

Stock price is related to earnings, not customer service. Carnival Corp. has 10 brands which contribute to the earnings. The corporation also incurred large debt to pay its expenses during the shutdown period when they had no income. I can imagine that paying off that debt is a burden on quartely earnings which is directly related to the stock price.

Customer service is a factor in generating repeat and new customers. In the longer run this may effect business and earnings.

In any case Princess must get its customer service in order and solve its customer technology issues. If they don't address this problem they will probably see many more one & dones or after 40 Princess cruises I'm done with them.

I agree with your last paragraph.  Since COVID, I do see some improvement however; it is still SLOW.

  9. Thanks to everyone who posted the photos, and we like reading all the observations and comments.  We are still hesitant to be on such a large ship, we are also thinking about booking a 7-day cruise just to see and have the experience of being on such a large cruise ship.

That shouldn't be a problem, if both of your onboard accounts are on the same credit card.  They just add everything up, and subtract everything and charge the final total.  They subtract against non-refundable first, then refundable.  If you have refund due, a check will be mailed to the credit card holder.  It takes about six weeks and comes in a non-descript envelope.  Don't throw anything away without checking for your refund check.

If Princess would just transfer the stockholder benefit into to DW account, I would not have to go through all that.  Princess did it on our last cruise and it worked Great.

  11. I had no problem getting our shareholders benefit for our cruise in Feb 2024.  I also get the military benefit and our investment account is in both our names, I requested that the shareholder benefit be put in DW names.  We use these benefits for excursions.  We got the benefit, but it's not in DW name, we tried several times via emails, but to no avail.  We had no problem in the past.
