BOGO I didn't know X runs those deals. Thanks I will look out for this.

Celebrity do not offer BOGO on their specialty dining. The best you will get is the package prices which are generally 20%-35% discounted, or first evening discount of 30%.

Nothing wrong with Seaside having sailed on it twice along with Five other MSC ships, if HAL is anything like Cunard and their ships are the same hull design as Queen Victoria we are happy to stay with MSC.

Surprising comment, Queen Victoria and the other Queens are Ocean Liners not cruise ships, so hull design is totally different.

OP.........HAL is comparable to Celebrity probably 4+star whilst MSC are rated 3star but offer good value for your money. MSC are European which is very different to the typical American cruise lines with mostly non English speaking passengers. Food generally is of a lower quality and standard, suggest you read a cross section of CC cruise reviews to get a better understanding.

...........if booking with MSC, can you book direct with them, which is what I do with P&O. Or should I go through a travel agent?

Booking PO cruises thro a travel agency seldom gives you more than £100 discount and you are limited to the U.K. market.  Whilst booking MSC cruises you are able to choose either direct with MSCcruises, U.K. travel agent,  USA travel agent or EU travel agent, each offer different Terms & Conditions.  Depending on price we book either U.K. or the US - our U.K. travel agent discounts MSC prices by 11% that’s on top of their 5% Voyager discount mentioned by mickey above.

The advantages of booking via the US is that deposits are refundable whilst not so in the U.K. also US travel agents offer additional perks like obc.

..... By the time the Horizon is printed baring a disaster they will have an idea when they are arriving. So much can effect a cruise ship getting somewhere anything is a guesstimate.

Strange that they publish on Day 1 in the Horizon Mag the itinerary for the complete cruise.  Every day arrival and departure times so your argument doesn't hold water.

......Which is probably why Pando give an approx guesstimate..early morning etc. I know other lines do give times, but i wonder how often they stick to those times on the dot..........

P&O give arrival and departure times in their Onboard Horizon magazine, so why not publish it prior to boarding?

Because they don't want people booking private excursions, the least info given the more chances that people will book their tours.  Like everything else on P&O, it is revenue driven.

  7. Another hard fact -  YES Britannia did/has engine problems.

Has it been fixed ?  unknown, will have to wait and see........You should ask P&O for an apology.

Giving £70 back to customers is alien to P&O - maybe all the onboard complaints had the desired effect.

......As for the OP, I agree that we all make mistakes, but when a number of us pointed out (with hard facts) that the YouTube article was untrue we were greeted with sarcasm. Once it became clear to everyone that the story was nonsense, the OP should have come back on and apologise.................

Well I ‘m back and see no need whatsoever to apologise.  Hard facts ! you are a joker, just hearsay at best.  I believe the YouTube report...no smoke without fire.

What specifically have you heard about the current Baltic cruise that has prompted your post? I have just checked ship tracking and she left Helsinki on time and is well underway to her next port. A regular poster on here (who is onboard Britannia for this Baltic Cruise) reported in the last day or so that all is well. The problems of the last cruise have already been covered but the title of your post may cause undue alarm to people who have friends or relatives on the current cruise. Can you substantiate?

I would have thought stalwart like your good self would be better informed........... maybe  people should be cautious.   I definitely will not trust them with my hard earned money and stay well clear.
