It is my understanding that there is one of the pools that is free of charge and another pool you have to pay for. Beach and lunch buffet are always free.  We will be there next week.

Huge Oasis pool is free...wave pool is part of the Thrill Park and therefore costs to use it.  Food was sooooo much better then normal private island buffet lunch.  Enjoy!

  2. Wonder if 4-nite Mariner will have one.  Anyone know?  This will be our first time in a Promenade room.  Always wanted to try it, just hoping we aren't kept awake with all night with noise. :classic_wacko: I saw a Compass from May that showed a 70's night and an 80's night, but I don't remember seeing anything about a parade.

    Thanks.

We did stay there for the day. Just this past Saturday. And while it’s not the cheapest ($120 after taxes), it was AWESOME.  Super nice hotel. HUGE TV in the room. Bed was very comfy, and we were able to take a nap and shower before the flight. Only wish they’d extend the stay from 12-8 instead of 12-6. Hubby and I both agree that even with the cost, we would not hesitate to do it again.

    Great!  Thank you.

I was referring to the Hyatt IN the airport. We don’t fly out until almost 8pm after our cruise this May. With three days in Orlando/Canaveral before the cruise, I just want to “chill” after we get off the ship. I ended up calling the Hyatt. They DO sell day passes for $109 plus tax. I went ahead and booked it as it will be much needed since we have a 3 hour drive home at midnight after landing in STL. 😳 This way, dh and I can nap and chill while my daughter swims and has some iPad downtime (which I’m sure she’ll be craving after a week without).

Just wondering how your stay was?  Was it worth it?  Was thinking of doing the same thing, as we also have a late flight out.  Just trying to figure out how to get from Hyatt in Terminal B to Jet Blue in Terminal A.

DH can go get the car while you wait at the terminal ... there's some shaded and benches .....

the distance is about 1/2 mile

he can take the shuttle too ... while you chill .... easier for ONE to get on the shuttle w/out bags versus 2 adults two kids and a bunch of bags . . .

Google Maps is your friend ..... you can pretty much walk this route in 'street view'!

red is where you need to go, orange is the shortest route ... there are not sidewalks on this route but not much traffic most of the time.  If you walk Glenn Cheek Drive there are sidewalks but the distance is a smidge more.

ok great...thanks again for the info! :)

    No

    in order of distance

Enterprise/Alamo/National share a location that's on the port property

(b4 you ask, no you can not walk from the NCL, DCL or CARN piers to this location, but you CAN walk from the RCL location IF you are at T-1 <some visiting RCL ships use terminals other than T-1 ... need to look at the port schedule>)

Hertz is located just off the port property, in front of the Residence Inn

Budget is maybe a mile down A1A

AVIS and Thrifty/Dollar (these two share a location) another 1.5 miles or so beyond that

They ALL run shuttles to the terminals

    Thank you for this info.

Has anyone here ever actually done the walk from the Royal terminal to the Enterprise/Alamo/National office?  Just wondering how do-able it is. Looked at google maps...DH and I would be fine, but I will be with my grandsons...and lot of luggage!

    Thanks.

  7. We just stayed at the Doubletree by Hilton in the Condado area for one night post-cruise.  Loved it, although they are not directly on the beach.  They will shuttle you in a golf cart the two or three blocks to the beach and come back and get you when you are ready.  They have an attendant at the beach to get you chairs and towels that are ready and waiting for you.  And you can even order food through him from the hotel to be delivered on the beach.  They have a nice pool and a restaurant right there on property.  Also, Silk, Sushi and Asian restaurant, is just a short walk next door.  Great food.  We had a room on the verandah, with sliding glass doors that lead right out to a patio with tables and chairs, and down to the pool area.  Very nice hotel and reasonable.  Would def stay there again.

  8. Received a "reminder" to my original Royal Up email (which I never responded to).  Got the first one at 2 months out and this one at 1 month from the cruise.  Same prices offered.  I guess not many are jumping on these offers.

    Freedom

    GS2 - $450pp

    GS1 - $350pp

    JS - $200pp

Spacious Ocean View Balc -  $100pp

I think you could do around $400 or less if you are willing to fly at really odd times. We are flying over Memorial Day weekend this year and found $370 pp JetBlue RT JFK...willing to take the red eye down on Thursday night. The real killer is the Sunday return. Most Sunday am flights are low in price but impossible to make after a cruise. The Sunday pm fares are really high. I think this is true for all Sundays, but particularly holidays. If you can swing a really early Monday am return you might find a little better price. We had to fly Sunday afternoon because we HAVE to be at work 6 am Monday.

I booked the JetBlue on the day the fares came out. Your February holiday might be a bit pricier than my May holiday for the Caribbean.  BTW, I looked for a long time before I booked. JetBlue fares come out later than other airlines, and they had the best fares I found, but not by too much.  I also didn't find any significant fare difference between JFK or Newark for my dates. Frontier might give you some options, and if you're willing to go to Philadelphia, they have non-stop flights from there. It's worth looking into.

    Good luck!

I saved $225 on JetBlue from JFK by booking a Monday AM flight as opposed to a Sunday 6:30pm flight (didn't offer any other afternoon flights) for my April cruise.  Used my cc points to book a hotel, and got one extra day in PR.  I also did not find fares much better from Newark, LaGuardia or Islip.  Total $753 total for 2 people.

  10. So I received a Royal Up bid for our Freedom cruise in April.  I have a nice center hump balcony now, and have never cruised in a Suite before.  The Grand Suites look like they are all forward, under the pool deck.  Not sure I want to be under the pool deck.  Any one stayed in one had issues with noise from above?  What are the perks with the Grand Suite?  Will they be included?

    Thanks.
