We just sailed the Sun (12days during Christmas and New Year’s) although we like ncl we would never sail the Sun again. It is tiered and broken. Had lots of frustration on her. We did make the best of it but wouldn’t book it again.

Going to sail to Alaska in April and just curious if they open casinos on Alaska cruises. I was under the assumption you had to be a certain distance away from land for them to open.
-
Where on the ship would be a less crowded place for lunch after boarding and waiting for room.

What can you use onboard credit for and what can’t you use it for? Going on a 12 day cruise and wondering if I can use it for like laundry service/ gift shop etc.

Will be sailing on a 12 day cruise on the Sun. Looking at deck plans I don’t see any laundry rooms marked. Do they have washers and dryers or do you have to send out to the laundry service onboard?

We sailed out of Baltimore in December 2022 on another line(currently it's RCCL and CCL who home port in Baltimore). The port facilities are a little spartan but OK. Parking is right off the dock and convenient. With age, have learned that $20 for a porter is a bargain when it comes to debarkation.
We cruise NCL for their specialty restaurants and having a ship within a 5 hr drive is attractive to us.
How much was parking at the port ? We sailed out on carnival about 20 years ago and it was free parking but now I hear you have to pay

Don’t know where to stay but you will love the ship.

We are on ruby 1/29 - 2/5 sounds like you are as well. Maybe see ya there soon. Cheers

Crooners is by far our favorite bar on any cruise ship (though the Royal-class ships tend to have a straight bar rather than curved like the Grand-class ships). Thanks for the seal of approval; we'll be onboard in late January-February. Can't wait!

Can you please find out if they have Pickleball on the sports deck?
Some cruises have it, some don't and we want to know whether to bring our paddles!
Thanks! Will check for you even though I don’t know what it is. Lol

Thanks for the update we were afraid we had to have a NCL excursion to get off the ship. How was the stop in DR?
It was raining in the AM and cloudy the remainder of the day. Was good to walk to shops.

"Love from the Escape"
I thought this thread was going to be a bit spicy. Oh well. 😉

Embarkment was pretty quick as far as testing. Bit of a wait in getting room keys for the Haven but not bad. Refreshments were offered along with some snacks. First time in the Haven and it is wonderful. We are in the Haven courtyard 18124. Absolutely beautiful and crew are very happy and friendly. If only the weather was nicer here at port Canaveral 39 degrees this morning. So far as I know all ports are a go. Getting ready to sail off in a few minutes.

I got a email 1/26 in the evening from AA saying they had a weather alert for our flight on 1/29 (day of our cruise) said we could rebook at no charge for a flight on 1/28 but had to go through ncl ( everything was booked with ncl). Called ncl and they said they would send a request to AA for a change and would get back to me with a answer. Never heard back from ncl and went to check cruise docs and my flight was changed to the 28th. Had I not looked at docs and saw the change on my own, I would have never known. Never received a email, phone call , nothing.
Sorry, let me reiterate, just checked my junk folder and there was a email informing me of flight change from ncl

AA did cancel our flight for the 29th and rebooked for the 28th. This was because of snow expected the morning of the 29th. Feeling relief getting in a day early now

@surfone it's right in the promo terms that it's a CREDIT.
https://www.ncl.com/termsandconditions/promotions
Deviation requests up to 2 days pre/post cruise will be credited $25 USD per person per deviation for guests 1 and 3-8 on the reservation.
We are scheduled to fly out on Saturday 1/29 and arrive at Orlando @11:30 then need to transfer to port (45 minute drive). I am guessing we will get to port around 1 or 1:15 and be on ship by 2. Cutting things really close. ( everything has been arranged by ncl btw). I guess my question is, are you saying I can change my flight and go Friday a day early?

We submitted multiple bids but all just about the lowest the meter would go, hoping we will get lucky.
Hang in there. I bid the lowest for several bids and was awarded a Haven penthouse

Passport question for Canada
in Norwegian Cruise Line

We are sailing from Washington State on a 7 day Alaska cruise, on day 6 we will be in Victoria,British Colombia. We are U.S. citizens. I am assuming we will need our passport to board the ship at embarkment. Am I assuming correctly? And would we need any other documents?
