Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thinking about booking a spring break trip on Viva in 2025 but some of what I’ve read sounds like this class of ship isn’t great for teens and tweens. Thoughts?
  2. Anyone been to LFK in past month or so? This whole situation seems so sketchy, trying to decide if I should take my family of 5 there when we cruise in a couple months.
  3. I thought I was going to not like the IV based on comments I saw on this board. Ended up loving the IV. Can’t wait to go on the Beyond again.
  4. I was on the Beyond as well. I believe we were around 75% capacity. Plenty of elbow room. Chairs adjacent to pool were usually “claimed” by 9am on sea days. There were plenty of chairs a row or two from the pool that were available till 10 or so. Lots of options both in full sun and in shaded spots. I hate chair hogs but it’s just part of the deal when you have 3000 people. I was happy with the abundance of options. Think they said there were only 13 kids on the ship.
  5. You’ll have a great time! Frankly, barring getting sick or something of that sort I don’t know how someone could have anything less than a great time. There’s so much to do. The ship is beautiful. There’s places to be “in the action” and plenty of places to relax. One funny thing about the creaking sounds. I had read about that so I was a little concerned. Well, the second night the boat started rolling and then I started hearing a sound each time we rolled. So then I was kind of panicked that the sound was coming to fruition. It was annoying but I eventually slept thru it. So the next night it starts again so I decide to search it out. Look all over the place and then finally figure out that two cans of Pepsi in the fridge were on their side and were rolling back and forth with the boat. So finally I had found the culprit and had no more random cabin sounds the rest of the week.
  6. Just got off the Beyond this morning. First time on E class. Did Aqua. Sailed many time on S class as Aqua. Wife and I absolutely loved it. We were concerned about the Infinite Veranda but ended up really liking the IV. Only issue I had with it is that I tend to wake up before my wife and it’s tough to enjoy the IV without flooding your room with light. I honestly don’t understand the notion that E class is more for younger crowd and whatnot. There is plenty going on around the ship that appeals to many tastes. I enjoyed listening to the cello play in Eden but also oftentimes listened to more upbeat music at Martini Bar. The shows were outstanding. I cannot wait to go again!!
