Thanks. In canadian dollars it works to 167.00 for the classic soda package which seems quite a lot. I'm debating just getting soda cans and then maybe getting 67 shore credit so its easy to purchase the drinks. I don't really think i need 2 mocktails a day, i think one would be enough. I'll think about it though. It would be a splurge.

Curious is there any where to buy canned pop near crowne? Have a separate thread about buying pop before you get onboard.
-
Thanks. I'm thinking this is unrealistic as i am flying and wouldn't want the weight.
-
I guess it wouldn't be convenient to bring 6 cans anyways. Can you bring the can into the main dining room, or just the buffet and other areas of the ship? This may be a cheaper splurge.
-
Thanks. With royal caribbean you are able to bring cans of soda onto the cruise. Is that not the case with princess?
-
Thanks everyone. Is price of mocktails 8.00 pls tax and tip? Trying to work out if its worth it.

Does anyone know what juices they are referring to in the classic soda package. Juice bar isn’t included and juices are free at breakfast. As i’m ok with mocktails and pop i’m considering this package but wonder what juice is referring too. Also what types of pop do they carry? Edit i think it may be cans, but not 100% sure. What do others think of the value of this package?

We usually stay at park at Crown Plaza. When the cruise gets back I walk over to get the car and avoid having to wait for a shuttle.
Has anyone stayed at both hotels who has an opinion which is better? I believe the doubletree may be more expensive but i’m not sure if any other differences. (I’m leaving for a pacific coastal from there)

My sister had hers revoked for forgetting to declare beer that was in the car. She had hers reinstated but i’m not sure of timeline-maybe a year?
-
That's true. I forgot that's their focus! If they were like norwegian and put more emphasis on solos then i would like the bigger ships. Do these ships have many solo cabins? Solos is definitely a growing demographic. Sorry getting off track.

Just to add, it would be interesting if an mba or business person could provide insight here into royal caribbean's strategy.
-
I don't think i insinuated anything. I asked a question. I'm no business person, but to put it another way don't put all your eggs in one basket. People's suggestion that all royal caribbean should do is focus on families i think is wrong.
-
Is not the birth rate dropping? In Canada at least it is. I don't know that being 100% reliant on families is the way to go. Better to diversify. Plus there was some complaints on this forum that it is cheaper to go on an all inclusive then a royal caribbean ship. On the other hand, if you are going for the itinerary there are definitely pluses to taking a cruise.

I actually found this article.

When has RCI officially stated they are building a new smaller class ship? If you have knowledge of a statement or video from Michael Bayley, or anyone else at RCI, specifically stating RCI is building a new smaller class ship, please post a link to it here. This is a really long thread. But i know Michael Bayley said something at one point. In any event, we'll have to see what happens. A big divide between those who think royal caribbean should focus on milk runs to coco cay and those who want the ships to go to different itineraries. Sad if they just become floating hotels and that's it.

I don’t know why we’re rehashing this. There has been statements from royal caribbean officials including Michael Bayley that they are introducing this new class. Are people suggesting they are lying?

I hope so! I want to be able to cruise in the future on the smaller ships.

I just really don’t understand why the canadian site is different as it still works for me. You can search on cruiseplum by number of passengers i believe.

As a canadian i received notice of the standby program for the first time. Someone told me solos don’t have to pay double on the standby program. Is that correct?
-
I’m canadian too but I just can’t believe the canadian website is different. I hate to ask but are you sure you are computer literate?

It looks like the 14 day voyage of the glaciers on princess on may 22 doesn’t have the full single supplement. Lots of tax though.

I just searched for 1 guest today. Its under options.

I’m checking in again if anyone knows the answer here, even a rough estimate.

Thanks for sharing! Sounds like you’re an extrovert for sure. I probably wouldn’t initiate conversations with people.
