Thanks everyone. This is good to know. Thanks to Coral for such a detailed review. Just to clarify its a 7 day cruise with 2 sea days. I assume you may be huddled inside on pacific coastal so less crowded would be good.
Thanks for sharing! I read its a bit strange as it has a number of mdrs. Is it a promenade deck all around the ship although as this is a pacific coastal i’m not sure how often i would go out.
I’m interested in potentially cruising on the sapphire princess. Port times in san diego and san francisco are fabulous 8am to 10pm. I’ve sailed on brilliance of the seas which is an older ship so i’m not specifically concerned if its ageing in places. Anything specific i should know, good or bad? Cruise is may25 los angeles to vancouver.
I haven’t cruised princess but i would recommend joining the facebook group for your sailing. I went to the pub crawl and met a lot of people. I also ended up eating breakfast with someone from the pub crawl one day. It was fun. Also i had started a thread on cruising princess solo in the solo topic if people are interested in more perspeectives.
Thank for posting this. A certain big box travel agency, redesigned their interface so you cannot filter by one person anymore. So now i can search here for celebrity and royal caribbean where you can’t filter by one person, princess and norwegian you can.
Just to add, in another thread, people were commenting that there were kids playing in the solo lounge so i am questioning how locked up it actually is and how many others gain access.
Thanks. I was looking at the residence inn long beach downtown which seems more a reasonable number of points. I'd have to consider when my flight gets in and if i want to make that day more of an outing or if i'm just eating dinner and sleeping there it doesn't matter whats around it.
In looking at the long beach downtown hotel it seems like its not very convenient to shops and restaurants so the other one may be better in that respect but its more expensive.
Thanks the long beach marriott downtown seemed to be the one closest to 701 and its prices are quite reasonable. However i'll keep an eye out on the torrance marriott.
Thanks for this tip, the problem i’m having is most of the marriotts are similar in the number of points and none seem cheaper. Its looking like residence inn long beach is the cheapest. However it seems to me the total trip time including lax to long beach and long beach to san pedro is longer then just going from lax to sans pedro. I’ll watch the price of the torrance hotel you gave too. I think part of the problem is march is expensive.
I have a marriott credit card and can stay for free at a marriott. Someone on the marriott forum suggested the marriott long beach and that the freeway between long beach and sans pedro wasn’t that busy. Is this feasible? I’m just wondering if by the time i pay for an uber from lax to long beach and long beach to sans pedro it will cost more then the hotel room. I travel solo so its expensive either way.
Just a note, i read in a bliss review that it was slow to get off cabo the tender port if you weren’t doing an excursion. I don’t know if its like that with othercruise ships.
I was just on royal caribbean and really disliked dining alone. Have they changed it where if you book a regular inside/balcony you can’t go to the solo dinner?
Sorry i read it again and it says you can make a payment: Your CruiseFirst certificate(s) may be redeemed as a deposit or as a payment towards your new reservation's grand total with a sail date greater than 120 days from purchase date. Thanks for heads up about 120 days. I didn’t notice that.
Its not clear to me whether you have to apply it immediately when you purchase your new cruise or if as long as its before final payment its ok. Terms and conditions seem unclear.
